Offering a small number of private camp sites spread across 5000 acres of diverse landscape. From the 25 acre lake to the refreshing Emerald Creek; from your own billabong & gumtrees to being up in the escarpment with spectacular views, you are sure to find your perfect escape.&nbsp;Guest will have access to a composting toilet during their stay. All guests are required to take all rubbish with them and leave no trace.Ideal for solo adventurers or small to large groups. Some sites are accessible by 2WD and suitable for trailers, small caravans and campervans, others by 4WD only.- Each camp site is for one party only & 100's of meters or even kilometers away from any others. All campers have access to our big lake & creek day areas. Enjoy leisurely walks or challenging hikes, climbing, mountain biking, swimming, canoeing etc.- We are situated right next to the magnificent Emerald Falls, Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and Davies Creek Mountain Bike Park.- Sorry no pets.- Only one hour from Cairns international airport.

Platypus Bend

This campsite would accommodate multiple camper vans and cars, and is located on the bend of the creek with steps down into the water. There are large trees and abundant bird life, and you may spot a
platypus if lucky.
A large fire pit is set up for all your camp oven cooking.

Chirpy Camp

This is a very private camp for tent or a roof top camper, maximum 2 people. Camp by the creek and enjoy the birdlife, and peace and quite. There is an open fire available and plenty of wood to collect.

Chicken Run Camp

This is a peaceful campsite, with plenty of timber for an open fire, and flat grassy areas. It's a short walk to creek. Abundant bird life. Wake up to the rooster crowing, goats baaing and birds chirping.
Enjoy the evenings around the campfire.

Resonance - Forest Song

Boonjie is a great place to base yourself to visit the amazing sights in the surrounding area! Our property has beautiful native visitors, including the occasional cassowary, and regular morning choir of ground dwelling chowachillas.

This campsite suits self reliant and self contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and water supply.

Lamins Hill lookout, and the entrances to Windin Falls, and the famous trek up Queensland’s Highest Mountain, are only minutes away. So too, are the Atherton Tablelands‘ crater lakes, Eacham & Barrine, and the small town of Malanda, with its iconic falls, both designated swimming destinations, though, highlights are the clear creeks between there and Boonjie (means mate). This is near “Top Camp”, where First Nations people would arrive after the gruelling walk up the Russel River, from the coast, where Innisfail now stands (Innisfail can be seen from the top road). 

With evidence of European and Chinese gold miners, from the 1900’s, this spot is both remote AND central, for a day trip to Millaa Millaa’s extraordinary Falls circuit, Herberton’s Historical Village and the flowered and funky Yungaburra.

Tolga Caravan Park is situated on the Kennedy Highway at the northern end of the Tolga Scrub, the last remnants of the endangered Mabi Rainforest in the region. The Scrub is home to an abundant variety of local wildlife, including the Spectacled Flying Fox – with the Scrub being their only permanent camp on the Tablelands.

We have easy access, large, grassy, flat sites with some drive through sites available. We offer powered and un-powered sites.

We also have onsite cabins – with more accommodation options coming soon.

The Rail Trail can be accessed to the rear of the property offering guests a great walking or bike riding trail with direct access to Atherton and to the Tolga Hotel.

A few places to explore are Lake Tinaroo, Paronella Park, Yungaburra platypus viewing, Crater Lakes, Herberton Historic Museum, Millaa Millaa Waterfalls, Curtain Fig Tree and Gallo Dairy Farm to name a few. A perfect base for all of your Tablelands exploring.

Pets are welcome if you have your own van.

The park is walking distance to coffee shops, takeaway, Tolga Hotel, newsagent, bakery, hair salon and The Humpy. Supermarkets and the main town of Atherton are just a 5 minute drive along with a dump point.

Wally's Roost

We are wildlife carers and have turned our property into a wildlife reserve for the animals. There is&nbsp;wildlife including wallabies (agile and betongs), brush tail possums and birds. A night viewing of possums and wallabies may be available. Please contact hosts to arrange this viewing.Enjoy the sunsets as you relax around the campfire.&nbsp;The property is surrounded by various nature reserves and attractions in the area within a 30 minute&nbsp;drive.(Granite Gorge Nature park, Davis creek national park and Emerald creek falls)We have three separate sites secluded from each other. One site accommodates large recreational vehicles, and is drive through, with farmland and hill views. The other two sites are&nbsp;situated by the creek. Please contact us before booking to discuss which site is best for your vehicle and camping set up.&nbsp;This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water supply.Your beloved pooch is most welcome to join you but required to remain within&nbsp;your campsite and must be restrained during the night due to the wildlife.If you would like to stay longer, we are happy to offer you a discount code (minimum 4 nights) - please contact us prior to booking.Children aged 13 years and under camp for free.Senior discounts available.
