This property is in Northangera with the Mongarlowe River running along the boundary. It's covered in trees and provides a pristine environment amongst the "Scribbly Gums". It has flat areas with plenty of free timber for the designated fire pits. I have tried to create a haven for wildlife including Kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and platypus. I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. You can explore the property along the tracks, paddle, swim or fish in the river, enjoy the fauna, wildlife and birdlife. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food. Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland. Lovely swimming spots in the Mongalowe River, beautiful clear water, and several lovely bushwalks around the property. There is only Telstra reception available in this area. We offer 7 different sites and the maximum stay is 7 nights.

Bunga Surf Shack is located 20m from our house we are completing building in mid-2025. It is private from our house with a seperate driveway. The property is coastal farmland, half wooded, half cleared, distant neighbours and nearby National Parks. Great surf beaches including Bunga Point, Cuttagee and Aragunnu all close by. There are numerous coastal lagoons, Biamanga and Mimosa Rocks National parks. We have a large dam at the entrance to the property. The township of Bermagui is 15 minutes drive north; Tathra and Bega are 30mins south. There is an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, goannas, echidnas, eagles, wombats. You can enjoy whale watching, diving, swimming, surfing and walking coastal tracks from here. As well there is an abundance of great food available with Wapengo Organic oysters just down the road, Mimosa Winery close by and numerous cafes, pub, restaurants, sourdough bakery, woolworths, bottleshop etc in the gorgeous coastal village of Bermagui. Mobile phone and internet coverage is good with Telstra, not as reliable if you are with Optus. Lovely place to switch off from your device if possible though. If you require firewood please select this in the extras or leave $20 cash per nights supply as we do have to chop, split and deliver this to the site. There is plenty of kindling to scavenge on site. If you would like to have friends stay with you there is additional space we allow for campers, otherwise we do not allow campers without the Surf Shack booking. Please be respectful of neighbours, drive slowly for wildlife, and no flying of drones over private land. Thanking you.

The Shack provided us with the perfect long weekend retreat. Phil has set up the Shack with a cooker, chairs, table, comfortable beds and cooking utensils. The view to the river is beautiful and we enjoyed a refreshing swim and paddle board. We loved the indoor and outdoor fire - plenty of firewood provided! The best part - total peace and quiet! We didn’t see anyone else on the property! Thanks Phil - we would love to come back!

We loved staying at the river shack - it has everything you need for a relaxing, off-grid holiday. The shack is well stocked with cooking supplies and firewood and the log burner kept us cosy during the cold nights. The view from the deck was lovely - we even saw 2 platypus! Would definitely recommend the shack!

The most beautiful site on the river. So private, serene and relaxing. We were a bit worried about the cold (sub zero) but the shack is SO cosy with the fire. Well stocked with cooking gear, firewood and two drums of water (we still BYO drinking water). We were visited by a wombat and platypus! Perfect getaway for two couples and a dog.

Platypus, lyre birds, rosella, whip birds etc etc. Shack really well-thought out and well-stocked fireplace kept it warm enough even in middle of winter.

Beautiful little shack in a beautiful location on the riverside. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the evening fire with a good wood supply provided by Phil, very considerate. Highly recommend it if you like a cosy cottage with basic provisions.

What a great spot! Perfect set up. Tranquil setting and easy access. The Shack was so much fun - the kids (3 and 5) absolutely loved it. Phil was super friendly and a great host! Highlight was definitely the platypus who put on a real display for us - multiple times!!

We loved our stay at the shack. The best combination of camping out in a stunning spot away from other people and disconnected, with the benefits of the little shack and not having to actually set up camp! Our favourite things were watching the platypus at dawn and dusk, the wombat that trundled past while we were having dinner and the peacefulness of the river. Lovely little touches in the shack as well. We can’t wait to come back!

We absolutely loved our time at the River Shack!We arrived in pouring rain and happy to find the shack dry and cozy (comfortably fitting 4 of us) with the fire set. Our dream for the trip was to see platypus and we were not disappointed!! Each morning the river was busy with platypus activity, we had some close encounters from the bank and on a stand up paddle board, and could even spot them from the deck of the shack. The bird life was also impressive!! The shack was very well equipped with everything needed for cooking and lots of fire wood.
