Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. A beautiful and serene 40 acres just 5 kms from the wonderful Bundanoon village, the gateway to the Morton National Park, in the wonderful Southern Highlands NSW. We have a chain of dams to throw a line or catch some yabbies, even float around in the kayaks, or just sit beside and soak up the rays. We have horses, chooks, ducks and peafowl and a beautiful chocolate lab, Cleo. An easy and 10kms from the Hume Hwy there are numerous camp sites, a couple by the oak grove, a couple by the dam and with lovely rural vista. Kids stay free and are not included in the site capacity. Sites are easy access with a clear track. All sites are dispersed so you can choose where you stay. We live on property and are happy to share and let people enjoy our beautiful location. The morning birdsong and evening are restorative. The sunrises and sunsets amazing. Far enough away to unwind and relax, close enough to get a caffeine fix if needed! Coming into summer camp fires are subject to weather conditions and fire warnings. Campers must be self-contained. Off grid campers, 4wd vehicles with pop ups or tents on ground and RVs can be accommodated. We have a leave only footprints philosophy. All rubbish and waste (human, animal & general) must be taken off property. Extremely well behaved dogs are welcome. Our birds are free range so dogs need to be feathered friend friendly. Your host is Loretta Parsley, a locally known elder and custodian of the Walbunja country and Yuin people, and she will share her love of the area and local history with you. We were fortunate to arrive and had paddock to ourselves. That said, paddock was huge, plenty of room for other campers. We had cows, alpacas and kangaroos in the paddock with us. It was fabulous.

Second time camping at Wombat Hollow. Loved it even more. Went for an early evening stroll this time and saw so many wombats. The bird song was gorgeous evening and morning. Camped up at the Pecan Wood camp. The view from the top of the rise is wonderful and worth being a little further from the creek. Pecan gets sun all day so perfect for cooler months. If we visit in summer we'll stay at one of the shady creek-side camps.

Ron's hobby sheep farm is quite large, the camping area was nice and flat, well grassed with easy access, and a westward border of pine trees that provided some shelter from strong westerly winds we experienced over our stay. There is 10A power available and even an EV type 2 charger. A single toilet out house is fed from a rainwater tank with a potable water tap off the rainwater tank. A Genorous size fire ring is present for low fire danger periods. There are multiple dams and some goldfish ponds with recycled solar powered water features. Plenty of open paddocks with sheep and access tracks to walk around the property. With a low number of other guests we had an undisturbed quiet relaxing family weekend.

Even with other campers you will feel like you are on your own. We are a 15 drive to the Bungonia National Park and have a few beautiful swimming spots within a 45 minute drive (or you can take a dip in the dam). Our property was once part of the Cobb and Co run and we have found a few artefacts over the years. Nearby Oallen Ford is great for gold prospecting. Located nearby is the Historic Loaded Dog Hotel and of course Goulburn's Big Merino. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN CAMPING TOILET. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen. Kangaroos, wombats, possums, lizards, turtles and yes snakes. Birds from Australia's smallest, the Weebill, to the largest, Wedgetail Eagles can be frequently seen, along with many other birds. GUIDELINES: Cost is $15 per camper per night, kids 16 and under are free (just don't add them to your booking). We will allow up to 12 people on a site and we don't have a limit on the amount of cars per site. Sites are private but not totally flat. Fire pits are provided, along with firewood. Firewood provided is sufficient for a fire not a bonfire. All rubbish must be taken with you, no bins are provided at the camp sites. All campers (even if you didn't book the site) need to report to the house. Please don't just speed past the house, you will need our help finding your site. Whynot is a bush block at Nerriga, only 10 minutes from the Nerriga Pub and Oallen Ford. There are no facilities so you'll need to be self sufficient and you'll need to have your own camping toilet, and leave no trace.This corner of the world features fantastic mountain air, undulating hills and pockets of forest. Nerriga is a small locality and there is a pub serving meals, which is popular with day tourists. For outdoor adventure lovers, there is Morton National Park which is great for a daytrip or excursion. Visit Fitzroy Falls for scenic waterfall views, go mountain biking, walking or enjoy a picnic lunch.Bees Nest and Jerralong Nature Reserves are both located on the Shoalhaven River approximately 10 km north west of Nerriga. The river is deep and also is tidal which means we have a large variety of fresh and saltwater fish that inhabit these waters.
