I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage.
You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi.
Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent.
Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
Please BYO firewood.
Fires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions and in the designated fire pit and designated fire pit area for your own fire pit.
Children 16 & under stay for free. Please notify host if you are bringing children.

A beautiful spot! We loved our time at lake Mac. Host James was kind enough to show the kids the animals including sheep and the baby ducklings were a real treat for them. The site is very well kept and has a great view out to the lake. The hosts were very easy to deal with and we pulled straight in and set without any hassle. We will definitely be back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Astoby's Retreat! With a warm welcome from our host Louise, she showed us around the camp, shower/toilets, kitchen, and communal facilities. I was very impressed with the amenities here and think she offers an abundance compared to other campsites! We had everything we needed to enjoy a comfortable stay, and liked it so much we booked an additional night. The camp grounds are kept very tidy, with some fantastic spots to pick from, it was so serene to wake up to the inlet and birdlife around. I thank Louise for her hospitality and would highly recommend if you are in the Nelson Bay area.

Perfect camp site an amazing owner. We stayed a night at iggys haven with 5 boys over the weekend and we were so damn lucky to have the whole place to ourselves. Nathan was really accommodating and helped us find our campsite at ease. The site had a nice firepit and enough room clearly away from other sites. Not sure what the other campers who wrote bad reviews are complaining about, take your damn rubbish with you its normal camping behaviour in most sites all over australia. Anyhow close to BP and shops and 5 -10 minutes from local beaches.
