We are 3.5km from the Narrandera town centre, so all amenities are close by. Suitable for all types of vans, RVs, camper trailers, although you must be self contained. The property has a security coded gate and is boarded by the main canal on the north and the Murrumbidgee Regional Park on the south. It’s only 100m from the Murrumbidgee river and a 2minute drive or short bike ride to a large sandy swimming beach. We have an abundance of resident wildlife on site (including koalas) We welcome short or long stay and pets are welcome on request. It's the perfect base for exploring everything the Riverina has to offer.

The River Cabin: We have a modern, fresh cabin that can accommodate up to 2 guests, with the option of a further 6 guests to camp near it where they'll be able to use the cabin as a base, and will have access to power and water. Self-contained camping: Hyde Park: We have a beautiful open area to camp along the Murrumbidgee River, which is fantastic for a group of self-contained campers. Plenty of room, open country and riverside fun. One booking at a time, so you have this entire area to yourselves. All campers here must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, power and drinking water. Set up camp next to undulating Mirrool Creek frontage and enjoy recreational activities including swimming, fishing and paddling. Don't forget to bring your canoe or kayak. The camp area is scattered with redgums and you have great views of the wonderful scenery. Depending on where you camp as far as access to the toilets goes, you could be anywhere from 20 metres to 500 metres from the facilities. Water is also in close proximity as well depending on where u setup. You are welcome to enjoy a campfire, within local regulations. There is plenty of wildlife around, including kangaroos. and birdlife. Close to Lake Abortree, a 70 acre inland lake. Only 6kms from village of Ariah Park- whichlikes to describe itself as a town of 'bowsers, wowsers and peppercorn trees'. There is something delightfully timeless about the town: the wide main street with the tree-lined median strip; the old shops with their verandas; the quietness and peacefulness. The town is listed by the National Trust as a Conservation Area.

Beautiful spot under the trees or out in the paddock, lots of birds, a dam which my dog went into, near town but you feel miles away. Had the place to myself apart from two friendly horses.

Peaceful site on the edge of Lake Abortree sadly in need of rain but would be great fun when full. Lovely birdsong and flowering gums. Great to have a fire and with no livestock our pooch was able to run free. Facilities are very basic but Geoff was friendly and helpful providing firewood and water for the toilet. Beautiful sunsets and a cracking storm provided plenty of drama

Amazing spot to stay and super hospitality. Arrived on a cold winter afternoon to a lit fit in the fire pit and a warm greeting from Debbie who spent time having a welcome drink with us. Nothing too much trouble, lovely level sites and good grass…and even a picnic table. We will return!

We had a loverly location just out of town. Beautiful private spot surrounded by native bush to explore. We had a plenty of options to place our van. The host was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble , had a fire pit prepared for us with a supply of wood, clean wooden table to have our meals if needed. One of the best hipcamps we’ve stayed at.

Didn’t want to leave. We extended our stay due to the weather, Debbie was a wonderful host and extremely accommodating from our arrival right through to departure. Great place to relax and wind down, accessible flat sites, easy walk to the river, kangaroos grazing every morning and late afternoon, you can take a stroll through the bush to look for koalas (we spotted at least 5). Fire pits provided with firewood. If you’re travelling with a dog this place is fantastic. Very close to town for supplies if needed. We loved it !!! 🏕️🤩

Fabulous secluded spot near a beautiful billabong. Flat sites and well looked after. Their 2 horses were nice company to watch playing together in the morning. Debbie is a great host and was good enough to meet us on arrival to help guide us. Highly recommended spot and close to Narrandera too for provisions etc.

We arrived at Amaroo and were taken with the breathtaking serenity. Debbie was waiting for us and very friendly, supplying us with a fire pit and there was an abundance of wood to burn. The property was very tidy with loads of places to park and lots of trees if you prefer the shade. The billabong was gorgeous. We would definitely recommend Amaroo on McLay to anyone. We will definitely be back for 3 nights as there is so much to see in Narrandera that we weren’t aware of. So cheap at only $30 per nigh
