1 night at 'Elouera Vale' Farm

We had a fantastic stay at Elouera Vale Farm – it’s a brilliant escape whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with the whole family. With 30 acres of the 140-acre property set aside just for campers, there’s an abundance of space to find your own quiet corner to unwind or let the kids roam free, whether on foot or by bike. The clean and well-maintained premium porta loos were a pleasant surprise and make this spot ideal for all types of campers – from the bare essentials through to fully equipped caravans. Don’t be put off by the listing on Hipcamp – access for larger vans and big rigs is no issue at all. One of the highlights for us was the animal feeding tour. Our daughter absolutely loved it and Wayne was fantastic. She’s now dreaming of becoming a camel and donkey farmer! We highly recommend Elouera Vale Farm and can’t wait to return – next time, we’ll be bringing friends along to share the experience.

Lovey place to stay. The amenities are lovely, making a very comfortable stay. My kids loved having the ping pong and air hockey table, I loved the new bathroom! Great location very close to an easy bike ride. We love the campfire and having wood was such a treat. We explored the property, saw many kangaroos. The only downside was being close to the sewerage plant, when the wind blew the smell come over.

We had the perfect first Sydney camping as a family at Wedderburn hideaway. Robert was an awesome host, very welcoming and friendly. He even helped us with our tent when we encontered an issue during our set up. Went out of his way to help and show us kindess. The place itself was amazing, not only you have the wonderful nature around you, there’s also the farm animals that just really add to the great experience and ambiance of the place. Not to mention the lovely dogs running around and just being friendly. I cant recommend the place enough wanting to have a relaxing weekend just outside the city

Loved this quiet, beautiful spot! As a solo camper I felt very safe. They provided the fire wood, which is a huge bonus. Saw lots of roos, and many birds. Lovely path and walk to the river. Lambert was a legend, made sure I had everything I needed. Debbie was excellent with communication. Bathroom was immaculate and lots of extras that families would love. I'll certainly be back!

Fantastic camp grounds and awesome host. The farm tour was great with my 5yo. Beautiful surroundings and lots of native wildlife, saw a wombat! Some natural firewood around, plenty of kindling. Went in May and creek had water in it.

Thank you Megan and Trevor. Great family friendly camping spot. Awesome sized shelter with a fridge and a kettle. Flushing toilet was a luxury. Loved waking up to bell birds and whip birds. Daily visits from Bluey and the gang were awesome. We will be back!

We stayed at Rob’s place for a night and had an amazing experience! We had so much fun—the facilities were top-notch. There were three friendly pet dogs roaming around the property, always happy for a few pats, and they kept us company while we chatted by the fire pit. They really added a warm and fun vibe to our stay. The campsite was fantastic, with plenty of space to pitch our tents. The fire pits around the area were perfect for roasting marshmallows and having a BBQ in the evening. We’ll definitely be back—and probably stay even longer next time!

My friend and I decided at short notice to go here for a short camping stay, the host “ Robert “ was incredible, he made us feel welcome and even came down to the spot we were at and had a chat, he has three incredibly well behaved dogs that just hung out with us all night and we got to see his log haired highland cow. This location is easy to get to and I highly recommend it

4 nights at 'Elouera Vale' Farm

The White Gums camping area was a perfect piece of rural camping, right in a nicely kept bush setting, but minutes from Cafe’s, shops and other sightseeing must do’s. This was our 1st try at Hipcamping, and I have to say, if we do any more, the next hosts have their work cut out for them to better the reception and the service provided by Wayne. Meeting the camels and touring the family property was a highlight and the memories of this place will be something we will look back on fondly. Thank you Wayne

'Elouera Vale' Farm

Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. It is well worth a visit to ‘The Shaggy Cow’ cafe, one of our favourite foodie spots (don’t forget to mention Elouera Vale). While you're here please try the Cool Climate wines. Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river. Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are looking forward to welcoming back our guests. Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not. Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney. We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice! We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. Fires are only permitted when allowed, in the designated areas only.

The house has oodles of spaces to lounge away the days doing absolutely nothing. Private Jetty Swim On The High Tide RELAX BY THE OUTDOOR FIRE Alfresco Dining At DYARUBBIN, afternoon summer breezes sweep through the house from this easterly position. The deep-set verandah offers oodles of space to relax & take in the vast & panoramic river vistas. There is air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout the house, including in the bedrooms. The master queen has an ensuite. There is also a double bedroom & a separate bathroom. In addition, there is a separate access rear studio with aircon, double bed & ensuite. The studio is available by prior arrangement - POA. If not booked by you, the studio remains unoccupied during your stay. DYARUBBIN is located on the Eastern Shore of Bar Point - this area is just a few kilometres inland / upriver from where the M1 Freeway crosses the Hawkesbury River at Brooklyn/Mooney Mooney Interchange. Travel time from Sydney CBD to Brooklyn / Mooney Mooney is less than one hour except in peak periods. This boat access area is absolutely one of the most spectacular regions on the vast Hawkesbury waterway system and a perfect spot to explore the area by boat, to kayak along to a fresh waterhole, and to fish from the private jetty. So come stay & get a little lost on the Hawkesbury!!!
