Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Wow !! What an incredible camp site.
On arrival we were greeted by the cutest sausage dogs.
The Beach site has so much space to set up camp and such easy access to walk down to the river for a swim. It had a big sandy spot which was great for our young kids.
Vanessa and her family are so lovely and it was awesome to see the horses come down to the river for a splash and a drink.

We had a lovely, peaceful stay at the Rapids site. Easy access to the site and to the river. Fire pit was a bonus. Didn’t really expect that we’d have a fire in late December, but it was cool enough to do so in the evening after our afternoon dip in the river.

We stayed here on our roadtrip from QLD to SA, all we can say is we wish we could have stayed longer. This site is absolutely beautiful. Vanessa and Co had the site immaculate for us. Have us clear directions and reached out before we got to site. We will definitely be back with an extended stay needed. The water was crystal clear perfect temp for our quick dip. We had our dog with us and he had heaps of area to run around. Thanks Vanessa for a great spot.

Lovely property with great camp sites, very private and right next to a flowing river making for a perfect place to cool off or get clean. Vanessa was very helpful, came to greet us and left us alone after that. Access is easy and it’s close enough to a major town for provisioning. Highly recommended.

A fantastic campsite. About 20 metres from the river. Plenty of trees which brought so many beautiful birds to visit us not to mention the 3 horses that paid us a visit to drink from the driver each morning. The host was kind and flexible allowing us to move our booking a day back to avoid bad weather. We’ll be back for sure.

We booked the entire beach site for our family gathering. It was a brilliant weekend. Vanessa was very accommodating and wonderful to deal with.
The campsite was beautiful and clean. The kids (big and little) had so much fun exploring the river. Loved sitting with a coffee in the morning enjoying the rich bird life. Saw a big old wombat and enjoyed watching the horses playing in the river on their daily visit. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Looking forward to our next visit.

Loved this campsite. Even though it was only an hour from Sydney, it really feels like you’re away from it all. The facilities are awesome and the property is beautiful. We had the camping area to ourselves for most of the weekend but even with another group there it felt very private. Great access to Sea Cliff Bridge area. My dog also loved this place. I would love to come back!

The place is a nice option if you’re after a no-fuss camping experience without heading hours out of town. It’s close enough to the city to make a quick getaway feel doable, but still secluded enough that you get that proper “away from it all” vibe. The setup is simple and suits soft-core campers who just want an easy spot to pitch a tent without wrestling with the wilderness. There are plenty of amenities around — a kitchen with the basics, fire-compatible pans and kettles, and a great shower that’s a nice surprise after a day outside — so you’re not roughing it. The space has a relaxed feel that makes it easy to unwind. It’s the kind of place where you can switch off for a night or two without doing a full-on camping mission.

Great space! Lots of room. Kitchen facilities, toilet and shower amenities made the camping experience so easy. Even took the opportunity to have an outdoor tub time! Easy to find with great communication from Natasha and only an hour from home. This was the perfect space for a first time camping with our dog.
