Dogs are OK but as we are a sheep property they must be well controlled and on a leash and not left to roam. We prefer smaller dogs. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Plenty of firewood around to gather your own. If you want it cut it for you then buy some as an extra and add it to your order. Please check with the host on arrival regarding local fire conditions. No set areas for camping - choose when you get here. Suitable for caravans, motor homes, tents. Lots of options! Great spot for a few nights. A peaceful place to relax within 20-30mins of Canberra. We absolutely loved the animals - ducklings, hares, donkeys, kangaroos and alpacas! The donkeys were our favourite and we loved when they came to visit our camp site. Quinten’s instructions were very easy to follow, it was a bit of a squeeze getting our 25ft van down the track but we managed it. We’d definitely visit again to see our favourite donkeys!

We enjoyed a peaceful camp on the banks of a small creek. The 360 degree views were simply stunning. The ground was level, we had isolation, plenty of sunlight for solar charging and an excellent fire pit to sit around and cook a meal over. Our host was prompt in replying, extremely welcoming and suggested walks around her beautiful property, which were well worth doing. Although one can see the distant traffic on the Monaro Highway, it is not noisy at all. It is close to the tiny hamlet of Michelago for coffee and basic supplies.

We headed from Sydney to the snow and used this as a 1 night stopover, my kids can’t make it all the way in one go after /work school etc. Great level site , didn't even need to un hook the caravan, plenty of room (our van 25ft) and just off the highway so doesn't add any travel time at all . Will stop here again next snow trip. Only down side is a little bit of highway road noise but really minor after dark.

We loved this place! Such friendly hosts, who brought us firewood and gave us a map so that we could wander up the hill (incredible views!) for a hike. When booking, Carly was very honest about the fact that you could see the service station on the main road from the site, off in the distance. This didn't bother us - we just faced our van in the opposite direction looking towards the hills. Very private site and great sun for our solar panels. Thank you!

We loved camping in our tent at Forest Elbow. It was a private, spacious, flat and dry site with a fire pit and just 5 mins drive to Bungendore with its lovely shops and cafes. Kylie kindly showed us all her animals, our son loved feeding the Alpacas! even though there was plenty of room we our dog on a lead as she could have gotten through some of the fences onto a busy road.

Great spot to stay at. Just off the highway and close enough to the attractions in Canberra. The kids loved the animals and the goal post. The entry road was rough and tight for a large caravan, but we managed to get through. Having the option for 240 volt power was a great advantage. Quinten ‘s communication was good and he happily mowed around our site after asking him.

With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. We try to make sure all of our guests have a great experience - so if you have any special requests reach out to us and have a chat!

This property is in Northangera with the Mongarlowe River running along the boundary. It's covered in trees and provides a pristine environment amongst the "Scribbly Gums". It has flat areas with plenty of free timber for the designated fire pits. I have tried to create a haven for wildlife including Kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and platypus. I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. You can explore the property along the tracks, paddle, swim or fish in the river, enjoy the fauna, wildlife and birdlife. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food. Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland. Lovely swimming spots in the Mongalowe River, beautiful clear water, and several lovely bushwalks around the property. There is only Telstra reception available in this area. We offer 7 different sites and the maximum stay is 7 nights.

Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food. If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses. This is a working farm approx 70% cleared remainder bush. Sub Alpine so the temperature can change quickly and snow, the area has quite a verity of bird and animals. There are currently 5 paddocks available no set campsites you pick your own site near mountain stream or in the bush also available is a self-contained cottage (view our separate listing for Calabash Manager's Cottage). This has 4 bedrooms bathroom, 3 rooms have queen size and 1 has a single, kitchen, heating when required is a slow combustion wood stove very relaxing. There are no amenities for campers, please BYO and leave no trace. There is plenty of branches and wood on the ground for a fire but please no fires when fire bans in place. Dogs are OK but as we are a sheep property they must be well controlled and on a leash and not left to roam. We prefer smaller dogs. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Plenty of firewood around to gather your own. If you want it cut it for you then buy some as an extra and add it to your order. Please check with the host on arrival regarding local fire conditions. No set areas for camping - choose when you get here. Suitable for caravans, motor homes, tents. Lots of options!
