Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
This location in Ohio is about a 10-minute walk to Dillon Dam, Reservoir and Lake! The road that was there was called Yelp Town Hollow Road. The road that this camp was on had to be raised when they put the dam in, they even had to move the one room school house! Black Hand Gorge preserve isn't far from the camp, lots of hiking and bicycle trails. Dillon State Park is 10-15 miles away with trails for horses, walking and biking. About 3,000 acres of State and Federal Land is right in our backyard! Learn more about this land: Set your tent up in a wooded area or near a stream. Great star gazing and forest bathing. The area is in the Yelptown Hollow Valley, the road and one room school house Yelptown School are reminiscent of a bygone era. The old road bed is near camping and old school house has relocated to a site nearby. Come enjoy the laid back ambience of the area! Good stay!
Had a great time on Marks property, it's pricing and proximity to amenities was very helpful. Although Mark himself didn't make an appearance his help was available. I would only change a couple things, the on site tent is ready for replacement and the provided chairs were not up to task. The camp shower is ready for update as well. Also, there was a short bit of hike down hill to reach the site so I probably would've packed lighter had I known. Do not buy firewood at the local convenience right off us 40, as it's twice the price of Kroger. 7.5/10 would visit again.

Peaceful Campspot
Nice place to camp! It is suitable for tents and/or hammocks. We did not get a chance to meet the host, as we only stayed one night as we were passing through the area. The place was easy to find, and there's enough room to park 1-2 cars right off the gravel road next to the sign labeled Kickapoo Camp. We are used to Backpacking for days at a time, so it was nice to have our vehicle just up the hill from our tent. The only traffic on the gravel road are the people that live down it. We still felt as if we were in the wilderness, hearing coyotes, owls/other birds, frogs, and occasionally some cows. They provided drinking water, a couple chairs, and fire pit. The ground was not perfectly flat, but it's about the best you can get in such a hilly area. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again!

Easy access and clear directions. Quick communications. Thoughtful host had much needed water bottles at the site. A nice fire and comfortable chairs.

A fine place to camp for a night
Easy to find. There was some government water construction happening on the property (which the host warned me about ahead of time!) so I’m sure it would be more pleasing to the eye at another point. It is pretty close to the road, and there was some kind of road buggy racing on the night I was there. Also what sounded like after-dark target practice nearby (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t fireworks but maybe). So not the quietest spot I’ve camped. But all the noise settled down by 9 or 10. All I needed was a relatively dry, flat spot to camp, so it was just fine for me.
