This spot was just what we needed for the night. It was pouring rain for days and the host said it would be best to stay on the tennis court above the pool. It worked out fine although wasn't as nature-y of a vibe as we expected but we were glad to be closer to the bathroom and showers with all the rain. The spot seemed like you could have a fire if you stayed out where campers usually stay. There wasn't as much privacy at the bathroom as I would've expected but it was fine if people did the normal precautions of communicating in a public place. There were no solid doors on any of the toilets or showers though if that were something that might bother you. The facilities were clean and functioned great. We really just spent our sleeping hours here and that worked great for us!

We had mixed feelings about this place. The sites were nice although if there had been lots of other campers, it wouldn't have been very private. The biggest disappointment was the pool. It was the whole reason I picked this place over others, and when we arrived, we were told that there was Pele's hair (fiberglass-like lava strands) in the pool and that we should swim at our own risk. I know you can't control Pele, but I really would have liked to have that information beforehand so that I could have booked something else that was in a more convenient location for us. Additionally, we absolutely love dogs, but I wasn't super stoked to hear that, while the dogs were nice, if you try to play with them, they will apparently hunt you. I have kids and wasn't super comfortable with that dynamic. I'd recommend this place for adults, and if the pool access is important to you, check on the status within the cancellation period.

I loved the overall vibe of staying on Kelly's land. Everything impressed me from the minute I arrived. You can tell that the owner's have put a lot of time and sweat into making it what it is. I stayed in a Sprinter, but it was great to have a hot outdoor shower. The puppies were so sweet and playful. It rained that night, but it just added to the atmosphere.

Beautiful spot. Very private. Pool is wonderful. Great fire pit for a cozy fire. Close to many fun spots to explore. Dogs are very friendly and wanted to hang out with us. If you're not a dog person, this may not be the right spot for you.

Wonderful place to camp. Beautiful property with macadamia nuts and fruit trees to enjoy. Pool and outdoor shower was lovely. I like how they have spots to have a camp fire too and can see the ocean from the property. Starry sky’s and sunsets a bonus! Owner was very welcoming

We loved camping on the property between the trees for the night! Host was very helpful in showing us around and providing tips for food in the area. The amenities were great, the hot outdoor shower was just what we needed. We also got a chance to see the 3 dogs on property :)

We camped in our campervan on Kelly’s land. It was a great stay, the property is gorgeous and we loved playing with the dogs. The bathroom/shower facilities were amazing. Definitely recommend staying here if you’re camping.

Beautiful macadamia orchard with plenty of room for camping or rving Host was kind and accommodating, great location for exploring this side of the island. The pool was an added bonus that was so refreshing! We had a wonderful stay and felt very safe Jon the property.

Super friendly humans and animals. Great and safe place to stay. We went there with our big campervan and had a nice and level parking spot on the tennis court. With a view of the ocean in the morning!

What a wonderful stay- even though we didn’t get much time there! Almost as soon as we parked the host came out and let us know the volcano was active- so we left and didn’t get back til most 4am. We loved being able to pet the cats and dogs on property and feast on the fruit/nut trees. I did get bit by a centipede while walking in the fruit grove right before we left so keep an eye out! Lovely visit!

My family and I had a wonderful camping trip here! Host was great, def felt the Aloha! Our kids absolutely loved the pool, family time around the bonfire area enjoying nature. They have one of the best mangoes!! It was a nice little getaway, bathrooms & showers available were a PLUS! I’m so glad we chose the right place, Thank you for allowing us to enjoy a piece of your 🏡 on the Naalehu side of the Island Blessings!!

Great spot to pitch a tent. Kids had a blast harvesting mac nuts, mangoes, and guava and exhausted themselves with some epic salt water pool and water slide time. The property's close proximity to Papakoleha Green Sands Beach and the Punalu'u Bake shop were a plus :)

I loved the camping site, super clean bathroom, spacious shower, paper toilet so soft, dogs are very cute, convenient electrical power charge, drinkable water accessible for free, a cozy place to cook our meals after sunset. Macadamias and mango from trees were delicious! Our host was welcoming and well prepared for our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. Kelly was welcoming and made us feel really comfortable. Took the time to give us a tour and gave some excellent recommendations for food/cool spots. The property is absolutely beautiful. So fun to camp in a macadamia nut orchard. Huge mango trees too. We really loved it! Mahalo 🌺🐝

Great spot amongst the Macadamia trees. If you are after a secured spot try the one down the bottom of hill with the fire pit. Kids loved the pool and searching for different fruits around the orchard. Very relaxing evening spent there.

The host gave us a nice tour of the grounds and the campsite was nice and private. Showers were clean and hot, however there was walk to the toilet.

The stay here was great. One of the best if not the best campsite I've ever stayed at. The volvano was on the verge of erupting so not only did Kelly offer to let us know, but also let us come and go as we pleased. The view was great, the pool and showers were a nice treat, as was harvesting fresh fruit and macadamia nuts!

This was our 3rd trip around the island in a camper van. We’ve got it mostly down pat but decided to not stay in Volcano this year because of the lack of amenities. We had hoped this would be more like Arnott’s or our most favorite spot in Hawi but it was not. Both of those sites allow full access of all amenities to their campers: I’m talking kitchens, laundry, TV rooms, fresh eggs…
Kelly was so welcoming when we arrived and was very clear about the rules, of which there are many but I understand why there must be rules in this scenario. What I do not remember was her saying we did not have access to the outdoor kitchen as campers. I totally could have missed but again we are used to sites allowing you to have the run of the place. We are rule followers so I did feel very bad when Kelly “caught” me using the microwave and coffee maker. I was made to feel like a child for this.
We basically packed up shop as fast as we could after that. As we drove off I opened the map she gave me that I didn’t read in its entirety to find it did specifically state we don’t get access to the upstairs (my bad!)
Otherwise we really did like the property and location but I just can’t decide if I want to come back here again next time.

My son and I loved Hawaii's Best Campsite. Perfect for 2 wheel drive Campervan 21 ft. Easy to find and plenty of parking on paved black top. Several outdoor bathrooms and outdoor showers for camper guests.
The orchard is beautiful organic and lush with fruit and nuts. Kelly provides pickers and nut crackers and encourages you to grab your own mangos, papayas, macadamia nuts and avocados during your stay. The views are heavenly and the climate perfectly quiet and cool for sleeping outdoors. Kelly is an excellent host. You will definitely enjoy your stay.
