The vibe at Irish Creek Camp
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Irish Creek Camp is a fantastic place! It was exactly as advertised and what I was looking for – a private campground, away from the city, where to relax with friends. The property is close to American River and several hiking trails for outdoor activities. Wendell, the host, is extremely friendly and helpful – overall we had an amazing time.
Irish Creek was awesome!
We brought a large group (18 people) so booked 3 campsites, and had the pleasure of getting to meet Wendell + a bunch of the cows, horses, and dogs on the property. It's a beautiful location and the surrounding area (especially the river about 15 minutes away) were excellent places to spend time.
I'll probably be back there soon. I would definitely recommend it!
Great property to camp at and very easy to find! We checked in near the main house and met up with Wendell and Mrs. Hurley. They were very friendly, accommodating, and even gave us a packet with tons of information on what to do nearby!
They then led us down to the camping area, which was very spacious and there are several shady campsites to choose from. We brought our dog along and he had a blast playing with a small black dog that was on the property. We saw 1 week old calves and cows from a distance, but they never bothered us. Irish Creek Camp is a great spot and would camp there again! We definitely felt at home there!
This was a pretty and peaceful spot, only about a five minute drive from the North Fork American River. Our hosts were so kind, greeting us, checking in on us, and giving us a packet with maps and things to do in the area. There were also cute dogs. : )
My friends and I camped in this property. We received a packet that has all the nice rivers, lakes and the other interesting places to go nearby. The landlord was so nice and enthusiast. We loved the three dogs who accompanied us at night and made this camp special somehow. The quit land was an nice choice to relax and spend the night at. Also, the land was an awesome spot to look at the clear sky and the stars. we were kind of disappointed that we can't make a bonfire, but we found an alternative (the grill lol)
Spent a night out at Irish Creek Camp to celebrate my fiancés birthday and to watch the Perseid meteor shower that would be at it's peak visibility that same night. We were greeted by our welcoming hosts (and such friendly dogs!) and given a packet of information pertaining to the area and a bag of tomatoes that were delicious. The camp areas were spacious, we camped at area #1 which was closest to the restroom and not a far walk from the nearby water source. Another reviewer mentioned "being serenaded by the crickets and frogs" at night and this holds true, it was nice to hear. We appreciated Wendell being attentive in case we needed anything and the overall welcoming feel of Irish Creek Camp. We had a great time :D
My date and I had an AMAZING time at Irish Creek Camp. Wendell reached out to me to determine when I would arrive. I told him perhaps 930. I ended up being 2 hours late (not my usual style) Wendell waited up for us, was super polite, and super accommodating.
The land itself is perfect. With bathroom access and well access,
We were about 10-20 mins from the closest town which you can easily stock up on goods. It does get quite hot, but luckily you're a few minutes away from cool water to either swim or boat down. Will definitely repeat.
We had a great weekend at Irish Creek Camp! Wendell was a fabulous host, stopping by in the morning and evening to make sure we were doing well. The site has water for drinking and washing, and even an electrical outlet in case you need to inflate an air mattress or charge a phone. We wished there was an existing table and grill, but sounds like Wendell is dedicated to adding more amenities as time goes on.
The campsite was shaded, which was lovely. And we adored the dog-friendly aspect of the property -- our dogs made multiple BFFs while we were there. We hope to go back to Irish Creek Camp again!
Irish Creek was one of the best camp experiences I've ever had. Wendell is so friendly and extremely helpful! We went when nearly all the camp sites were booked, but we never over crowded and the noise level was never too loud. There are many hikes and swim holes within a reasonable distance so we had more than enough to do during the day. Wendell even gave us permission to explore parts of his land. This is a place we will definitely come back to.
Irish Creek camp was awesome! Everything was just as described on Hip Camp. Wendell and Maxine were awesome hosts. They greeted us upon arrival and drove us down to our campsite. They gave us a great information packet of things to do around the area. We ended up driving about 10 minutes to Coloma and hung out at the American River all day. We brought floaties and found a nice cove. Just note that all people on floaties must have a life jacket. Lots of people are white water rafting down!
Cute dogs, horses and cows on the property too! We loved Andy (tenants dogs) -- she was the BEST.
We will definitely be back!
We had a great time at Irish Creek! We went the day after Thanksgiving and had planned to stay through the weekend but got rained out. Our time there was fantastic though. Our dog was able to run around with Andy and Arthur; Wendell and Maxine were such kind hosts and checked in on us to make sure we had settled in. When we arrived Wendell gave us a huge folder with all kinds of information about the area and things to do. We will definitely be going back when the weather is a little more predictable!
One thing to note is that, at least at the time of this writing, there aren't proper fire pits or tables. There were plenty of rocks around so we were able to build our own fire pit, and they had collected branches that had fallen from their trees for us to use as firewood too.
Great experience! We loved it there and were sad to have had to leave earlier than we had planned!
Wendell and Maxine are very sweet! They welcomed me with pamphlets of local things to do, then took me down to the campsite. I chose a spot between the farmhouse and near the sound of the running creek. I loved that the camp is surrounded by animals... the family has dogs, cows, and a horse. Plus I saw several wild deer, turkeys and geese. The location is super close to a couple small mining towns. Take a look at the pamphlets they give you!
Wendell and his wife are simply the best possible hosts! Communication with Wendell is super easy and fast. He accommodated all our needs even before we knew we had them by lending us some chairs, umbrellas for the sun, chopping a tree so we could get some wood and even creating two tables! His property is gorgeous and very conveniently located - we went wine tasting close to Coloma, swimming to the American River and hiking to Echo Lake in South Tahoe. I would certainly love to go back and I certainly recommend it to everyone who wants to go to a beautiful place run by great hosts!
Wendell was a very nice host, but the photos on Hipcamp make this farm seem like the campsites are more secluded/private. We reserved camp site 14, but on arrival, he gave us a different site that he thought was better (camp site 11). But this new camp site was directly behind a house (in plain view), next to a shared port-a-potty and right next to 5 or 6 other sites in a row and in front a bulldozer, bulldozing a dried up river (who also returned the next morning - on a Sat - to start bulldozing again at 8am.) We thankfully moved to camp site 15, which was closer to the road, but much more secluded (as there was no one at the adjacent campsite 14). To summarize, don't be fooled by the glamorous photos online and expect no pond or river most of the year. Our experience turned out okay, but I would not recommend anyone staying here (esp for the $$ price).
Had a great time at Irish Creek Camp. The owner Wendell was extremely nice and accommodating. We went at the end of July and it was extremely hot. The pond was pretty dried up but that's to be expected during a drought in California. The only bathroom facility is a single port-a-potty, however it was very clean. Each campsite was fairly large and they are all in a single line under the trees which is nice for shade. We weren't able to light a fire because it was during a fire warning and it was very dry on the farm, but we did use our camping stove for hot meals. If you're bringing children, they are able to wander and explore the entire grounds and there is a park with a water park approximatley two miles down the road. The park has two very clean restrooms that we chose to use while there. We drove to the town of Coloma which is about 8 miles away and swam in the river to cool down in the 100 degree weather. There are restaurants, a Chevron, river raft rentals and other historic places to visit in Coloma. My only real complaint was a group of campers two sites down that did not respect the sound curfew of 10pm. They talked loudly, yelled, laughed and played loud music until after 2am.
Had a great low key time camping at the Irish creek camp! Wendell and his wife are incredibly kind and their dog Andi hung out with us while we were camping which was awesome. :)
Amenities overall are somewhat sparse - no fire pits (if it rained recently), one porta potty, but it's camping. One thing to watch out for is cow pies, the camping area is used by cows some days and definitely slipped in one or two while walking around. Make sure not to pitch your tent on one.
Overall a great time though!
This past weekend my wife and I stayed in Irish Creek to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We stayed near campsite #5, which is located right in front of the pond and has a tree for shade. In general, the property is breathtaking and is conveniently located nearby local stores. Everything was green and the property had plenty of land for our two dogs to run around and enjoy themselves. Wendell and Maxine were great host since the moment we drove up to their home. When we arrived, they provided us a packet with information of nearby attractions and then took us to our campsite. During the rest of our stay, Wendell and his wife made sure to check in on us and anything we might need. They were great!
Even though, our trip was cut short due to weather conditions, we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves away from the city. We can’t wait for summertime to
Camping here was amazing! The property is so large and green! My fiance and I enjoyed exploring around the hills and visiting with the cow and horse. The porta potty was very clean and nearby. The friendly dogs that stop by to visit from time to time were a plus! Wendell and Maxine were the sweetest hosts :-) 100% recommend if you are looking for a simple camping trip!
After a month long road trip, my girlfriend and I both agree that our stay at the Irish Creek Campground was the highlight of our trip.
The campsites are set up right along the creek and came with a picnic table and fire-pit (along with kindling and wood) with the flip-grate for cooking with the cast iron. The farm is just as beautiful and well worth the time to walk around and explore the 60+ acre mix of farm land and wooded areas. You're also just 10-15 minutes away from some great trails and other outdoor activies along the Colorado river.
While the scenery was wonderful and the campsite was perfect, Wendell and Maxine were the reason our stay was so special. They are such friendly and welcoming people that you can't help but feel like you're part of the family. I am certain we will return and can't wait for our next stay at Irish Creek Campground!
Maxine and Wendell were great hosts. There are several campsites on their property - some in a row along the creek and near the pond - and others scattered throughout. We camped along the creek and though there are several campsites in close proximity, they are far enough apart where you cannot hear the details of other groups conversations. Each site had a table, firepit, and chairs. We had a large communal bonfire hosted by the couple renting a secondary home on the property and engaged in great conversation that included a lot of local history. Great walking trails around the property and a plethora of hiking and river access within 30 minutes. I would highly recommend a stay at Irish Creek Camp.
I loved Irish Creek Camp! Be sure to get a spot in the shade, as the sun can be hot in this summer. My only feedback is that the signage could be better--there should be a sign towards check-in and a sign towards the camp. We were a little confused where to check in. Other than that, Maxine and Wendell were great!
I had a nice lazy Memorial Day weekend with my boyfriend at Irish Creek Camp. We were greeted by the owners (and friendly dog!) when we arrived. We were given a verbal breakdown of the campsite, plus a packet of things to do in the area. Even though there were many campers on site during the weekend, I felt that we were all nicely spaced apart and not cramped together like at some public parks. And luckily, all the campers near us were considerate, so I still felt like I was able to have the nice, quiet, lazy weekend outside that I was looking for.
We stayed for three beautiful nights in late May. We loved the peaceful property, the visits by Andie the dog, the view from the hill behind the campsites, and the sounds of frogs and birds all around us. We spent a lot of time sitting by the fire at our site, climbing the tree at our site (12), cooking and relaxing. During the days we checked out the very interesting exhibits at the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park, did a little hike there, and swam in the beautiful, cold nearby rivers. It was wonderful and Wendell was the kindest host. We were so happy we found Irish Creek Camp.
Irish Creek Camp was the perfect Memorial Day Weekend getaway! Wendall and his wife were there when we arrived and made sure that we got to our site okay. We didn't spend much time exploring outside of the camp because the 60 acres of land had quite a lot to see. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely beautiful property. It was the first time my 7 year old ever went camping and he had the time of his life. Visiting the horses and playing with a real farm dog pretty made the experience even more special. Wendell and Maxine were lovely hosts. We plan on returning soon!
Totally private in the middle of the week. Friendly dogs from property and neighbors to keep you company (plus we brought our own). Everybody swam in the pond and waded in the creek. Three porta-potties available, though two seem to always be in the sun. Each site has an eclectic mix of tables and chairs and fire pit. Quite, serene and full-on awesome.
Wendell and Maxine were fantastic hosts, their property is beautiful with nice flat spots to set up your tent. There is a nice creek that leads to a pond where one can dip your toes in to cool off. The resident dogs on the property greeted us and got along great with our own!
Access is easy from the main road and there is a place to grab food, beer, and ice within 10 minutes. Plenty of fun things to do in the area: wineries, river activities, hiking trails, and beautiful scenic drives. Also, Georgetown is a neat, historic town!
One small caveat is the lack of being able to get rid of trash, after 3 days this was a bit of a hassle.
We foresee a return to Irish Creek Camp and definitely the area. Thanks again, Wendell and Maxine!
Our stay at Irish Camp was lovely. Wendell was a great host and was very friendly and helpful. The campgrounds are spacious and serene. There were friendly dogs who accompanied us walking around the grounds, which was nice. There was a table and grill at our camp station, and we brought some wood and cooked with no problem. Lastly, it was great for star gazing.
We were looking for a last minute site for the 4th of July weekend, and came across Irish Creek. Wendell (the owner) was super helpful in telling us which site to pick (we have two vans) and, though we booked two, we were able to fit in one just fine and had a wonderful spot. We really enjoyed camping there, had lots of space, the amenities are perfectly suitable (porta-potty & potable water), and Wendell was really friendly and fun to talk to. We explored Coloma and the river and nearby wineries. Would definitely go back again!
We had a great time at Irish Creek Ranch. We brought our puppy and the resident dogs Andy and Spot were great for him to spend time with. Although it was too dry for fires we still had fun camping, taking a dip in the stream and getting lots of sun. The vibe was great just be sure to bring your bug spray for when the sun goes down and the mosquitoes come out.
We had such a great time here! We picked campsite 10 because it gave us a little more privacy, and it was awesome. Every site had a table, a few chairs and a grill or firepit. It was dark enough each night that we could see a ton of stars, some sattelites and the milky way. It was easy to get in and out of the camp and go to local activities like wine tasting or swimming in the river. The swimming hole was a great bonus, and my dogs had so much fun.
Wendell and Maxi were very responsive and helpful, offered us a brand-new kettle grill for cooking dinner. (Our Awesome Outdoor Korean BBQ was made possible with that) Our dog made two new friends too! About two hours from Tahoe. Hope we explored the area a little more though.
Coming from the Bay Area on Friday night, we got in around 10pm. Wendell met us in the driveway of his house and led us to the campsite. He's incredibly nice and even offered us an extra tent when he realized I was planning to sleep in the car! It's a great little spot that's close to the tenant house but otherwise quiet. Andy, the sweetest farm dog I've ever met, kept us company as we set up camp. The next day we got up early to beat the heat and spent the day in the American River. We also grabbed milkshakes from a local burger-n-fries shack. We got back to the campsite at around 4pm, when our campsite was finally under the shade again, and explored the farm a bit. We met three very friendly horses and a cow! The next day we packed up early and drove up to Tahoe for the day before heading back to the Bay Area.
Book this stay! My boyfriend and I were looking for a camping getaway in a pinch after our national park reservation was canceled due to snow - and we couldn't have asked for a better last minute booking.
Wendell is an excellent host who gave us a packet of what to do / where to go upon arrival - and all of our ideas for our long weekend came from that. We swam in the American River in the river opening nearby in Henningsen Lotus Park, had rad sandwiches and beers at the local "River Shack" watering hole that clearly all the locals love, ate pizza at Squalley's where clearly all the local stoner kids hang with good reason, swung up to Black Chasm Cavern to see incredible cave formations and above all, fell in love with the cattle ranch's resident sheepdog named Andi.
The ranch is bare bones but clean and perfect if you're tent-car camping: there are port-a-potties, picnic tables and potable water hoses available for campers. We also had a fireplace for cooking on our site.
Will definitely come back!
After cancelling our Yosemite trip last minute due to wildfires in the area, our group was looking for a new campsite and came across Wendell and Maxine's property on HipCamp. I was worried we wouldn't be able to find a same-day reservation, but Wendell was so accommodating with our group and welcomed us in with open arms! I can't say enough about Wendell and Maxine, they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed all weekend. When we arrived, they gave us a packet filled with maps and guides of all the local attractions in the area. Marshall Gold Discovery Park was only a short 15 min drive away, so we spent the next day in the American River panning for gold and swimming at the local swim hole, Lotus Park. This place has everything. From the beautiful rolling hills, the horses and cattle roaming the property, the gorgeous oak trees surrounding a peaceful little pond, and the highlight of our trip - Andi, the queen of the land and the sweetest pup you'll ever meet! We already miss waking up to Andi sniffing around our tent, waiting for us to get up and give her a good morning pat. On our last night, we were gathered around the fire, looking up at the stars and our group decided we were going to make this an annual tradition. Thanks to Wendell and Maxine for giving us a weekend we'll never forget!
Chill. There are some campsites that are pretty close together and some that are pretty far out. So, if you'd like to be closer to other campers, you can. If you want a more secluded area, there are a few campsites to choose from.
We got switched to a different campsite from the one that we reserved, wasn't sure why, but it wasn't a problem since we were only staying 1 night. Wendell seemed to be very hospitable and cool.
Overall: Tranquil land, but you can still enjoy yourselves with music and friends.
We loved it! Loved the grounds, the well cared for site, the sweet little touches Wendell puts in, like sun bathing chairs by the pond, and bbq equipment at the camp site. We loved that everyone there was quiet and friendly. The port o potties were super clean. We loved the night sky, the horses on the hill and especially the pond and the dogs - Andy and Arthur. Thanks Wendell and Maxine.
We had a great weekend here! This is the absolute best camping spot for you and your canine companion. Our four month old pup had a blast running around off-leash with Andy and Arthur! The property is beautiful, the fellow campers were delightful, and Wendell was the perfect host. We'll be back for sure!
Wendell is such an amazing host! He was up waiting for us with the biggest smile on his face, even after we got there after 1am (traffic). He is so welcoming and his wife is a real charm too. The farm dog, Andy, was such a sweetheart. She played with our Labrador a bunch and even snuggled with us in the tent for a little bit. The stars are amazing out there! We loved the fact that there were outhouses and drinking water on site, burn barrels, and a pond for the pups to swim in. They came around in the morning to show us a map of the area, and gave us a few suggestions on some days activities. We will definitely be coming back here in the future.
Everything about this place is great. Nice campsites with fire pits or burn barrels, readily available water supply, and clean portable toilets. Picturesque terrain with rolling hills and plenty of trees for shade. Really friendly dogs, and Wendell is a terrific host who provided us with recommendations on things to do nearby. I would highly recommend this place as would everyone in our group of 5.
We loved camping at Irish Creek!
Wendell was an amazing host. The key is to stop at his house first. He was so welcoming- guiding us down to our camp site & directing us to all of the key spots in the area.
Our dogs had lots of room to run around. And our kids caught frogs in the pond. When we told Wendell we were planing a trip to Costa Rica he brought us his guide books!
We stayed at camp site 12 - I think it was the best. But all of them have good shade and a fire pit. Thanks so much!!
Irish Creek was a lovely campground; we were there in the summer, so the pond was fairly low, but there was still water if you were so inclined. The amenities seem to have expanded since some of the earlier reviews--there are now tables at every site, as well as small charcoal grills and fire pits available for cooking. It was wonderful learning that we'd be able to have a campfire even with as warm and dry as it had been in the area. We'd happily stay again!
Wendell and his property are both amazing! A group of friends and I spent the weekend there, and we had a blast. Aside from Wendell's friendly demeanor, the views, campsite extras (table, BBQ grill, firepit, and umbrella), the Coloma city is quaint and just as friendly as Wendell.
The campsite gets really hot in the daytime so plan on cooling off at the American River. Irish Creek is a wonderful weekend getaway.
Staying at Irish Creek Camp was lovely. Wendell was there to greet us, along with a helpful packet of information about the surrounding area. The campsite had a picnic table, umbrella, and a place for a fire. We were there to see the Perseid meteor shower and had incredible views of shooting stars from the top of the hill. Wendell and Maxine have two adorable dogs, Andy and Arthur, and they added to the experience by hanging out with us. We'd definitely love to come back!
Would definitely come back to this sweet spot. Wendell was an amazing host, waiting up for us latecomers and helping us get situated. The campsite was perfect, surrounded by beautiful old oaks and a pond for gazing at while eating breakfast. Thank you so much! See you again soon ~
Wendell is a great host! He was very accommodating with our arrival time (we checked in very late!) and he even made his way down in the morning to give us the package that consisted of all the activities we can do around the area. I will definitely be back to camp at Irish Creek Camp!
We really enjoyed our two nights at Irish Creek Camp. Wendell was very welcoming, and the property is lovely. There were a couple of very friendly dogs that kept us company; the small black and white one even slept next to our tent each night! She was a real sweetie! We were lucky to have the entire camp nearly to ourselves as it was the end of summer, and we were there during the week. We had an excellent view of the solar eclipse right from our site! Each camp site had a picnic table, burn barrel for camp fires, and most had BBQ's. There's plenty of breathing room between sites, and each has a large oak tree that provides shade for much of the day. There were two porta potties on the property that were very clean, and at least two hoses where you can get fresh water. The only thing that was mildly annoying is that you have to carry out all of your trash. It would be nice if there was a dumpster on site. We would definitely go back to Irish Creek and highly recommend it overall!
Wendell was great, as was his campsite! So beautiful; really lovely spots. The dogs are my new best friends. We met some lovely people also camping there, and there were many fun places to splash around in the river nearby! It was very hot and dry; we used the burn barrels and grills supplied by Wendell, and filled up two large buckets he'd left for us so as to douse that fire. There are portapoties dotted about the campsite, and water taps too. No trash dumpsters as far as I could see so take your rubbish away with you. Great facilities and a great site. Thank you so much Wendell! We'll be back.
I live in San Francisco and often need an escape from the city that offers a sense of renewal. Though our stay was brief, my partner and I had a lovely time staying on the ranch. I enjoyed the casual yet caring energy, access to basic human stuff (water, porter potty) ease of check-in and check-out, and the thoughtfulness of every interaction.... We received a welcome package that explained the history of the land. SO COOL. On my way out I stopped by Wendells house to say thank you and left the interaction feeling really warm and fuzzy inside. Truly a wonderful couple. The surrounding area is jam packed with history related to the gold rush. Highly recommend. Totally going back. HISTORY IS SO COOL.
Wendell and Maxine are as friendly and responsive as I needed and then some. Came in later than expected and Wendell was undetstanding of Bay Area traffic. Brought us to camp, gave us our welcome package and even carried over a box of firewood for us. We were left to ourselves after and had all that we needed such as tables, firepit and grill.
Really lovely place, well equipped with tables, chairs, firepits at each site and grill provided. Sites are far enough from each other to have your own experience. Porter potty near us was spotless! Also, Wendell is a very kind and welcoming host who knows the area well and gave us great advice. We will be coming back!
Irish Creek is a great weekend getaway. I highly recommend it for a ranch style camping experience. The sites have everything you need to be comfortable with potable water, bathrooms, picnic tables, and a firepit. Wendell, the host, was welcoming and referred us to interesting things to do in the area. Our favorite part was the friendly camp dog that freely wandered around the site and kept us company!
Irish Creek Camp was an overall great experience! It is super dog friendly and our pup Tate had a blast playing with the Hipcamp dog(s) Andy and Jane. The creek/pond was dried up during our visit, so we will just have to make another trip out. Check in with Wendell was smooth and he provided information on things to do in the local area, which was great. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
This was such and amazing stay for my fiance, our dog Cooper, and I. We arrived at the main house and were greeted by Wendell and his wife, Maxine. They were so kind and had a packet ready to go for us with lots of useful information. Wendell then drove us over to our site and shared some history about the property, it was awesome to talk to him. The site itself was great and we were instantly greeted by Andy, the host dog. She was beyond sweet and hung out with us for part of our stay. It was so peaceful and we enjoyed watching the sunset (super romantic!). Everyone kept to themselves and we felt at peace while there. Overall, it was awesome and we will definitely be going back soon! Thanks Wendell, Maxine, & Andy
Really enjoyed our 3 day weekend here - Wendell was a great host and checked us in upon arrival and lead us to our campsite along with handing us a packet of helpful materials about the rules and recommendation of what to do in the area. We were immediately greeted by Andy the hipcamp dog - love her!! At site 1 we were right by the porta potty that was nice and clean. We bought wood from the neighbors for $7 a box and explored the property a little. Very nice for a chill weekend and last minute to boot. Would recommend!
My fiance and I were looking to get away for one last camping trip of the season and Irish Creek Camp ended up being the perfect getaway. It's far enough from town that you feel like you are truly out in the middle of nowhere and at the same time you are only a quick 15 minute drive or so to town. As soon as we showed up we met a really nice couple who rents a house from the 1800's there and were able to buy firewood from them. We ended up camping under a beautiful walnut tree, surrounded by an open field and oak trees lining the outer edge. Just perfect!
This is a good lil camping site, we stayed at site #8 which is at the end of a row of sites. each site had a little something different. Wendell and everyone there were Super Nice. We camped in Sept and the creek/pond were all dried up. Would definately love to come back in the beginning of the season when the pond is full. Lotsa stars!!!
Lovely camp site, w/ fairly easy access from the Bay Area (last stretch of road is quite winding), but not a far drive at all. Nice grounds, friendly animals (ranch dogs and horses!), not too many camp sites which was also nice. We were here at the start of Fall, so the seasonal pond was dry, would have loved to see that. Really appreciated having the tables and fire ring.
We had a great time at Irish Creek, lucky to have all the space we wanted, nice welcome from our host with lots of information on the activities around and everything from tables, benches, fire pit, bbq and even some pumpkins to bring back. Thank you again for the nice stay.
Wendell and Maxine are so nice! And their property is gorgeous - wide open space along the creek bed, space for dogs to run around, a peaceful setting overall. We came in late in the evening our Westy camper and Wendell greeted us and showed us to our campsite. We were able to pull right up to a great spot on the creek bed, with a fire-pit and picnic table. The property is nearly 60 acres of rolling farmland and big oak trees. Two cute little dogs greeted us in the morning and hung out at camp with us. Perfectly serene space, and a nice escape from the hustle. We will definitely be back!
