Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Classic camping and fishing with excellent views of the mountains and lake. Lies within the Toiyabe National Forest area and near two distinct hot springs. The lake is great for fishing in the spring through fall. In proximity to great river and stream fishing as well. 30 minutes or 31 miles to Tioga pass into Yosemite National Park. Plenty of mountain biking and 4x4 trails access. Bodie Ghost Town is very close as well.

Some things to be aware of are that this is high desert climate, with little to moderate tree coverage. Imagine it is much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. The elevation is 6,400 feet (1,950 meters). There are many harmless flying insects flying around here. They are called Chironomidae, and the fish love to eat them. The tent cabins are nearby to other campsites as part of a larger campground. They are within eyesite and earshot so if you are looking for total privacy then this listing may not be for you. Feel free to ask me any questions or concerns. The walk to the bathrooms is about 75 yards.

A message about cancellation policy: It is firm. If you cancel outside of 7 days leading up to your reservation, then full refund is made. Inside of 7 days is extremely difficult to rebook your site to someone else, and therefor no refund will be made. We understand that life happens; sickness, car trouble, life events. But will not refund so close to your reservation date. By making a booking request, we are to understand that you have considered and accepted this policy. This campsite was substandard .The first thing I discovered was a bottle of yellow liquid outside my tent on arrival. I told the host and he was very defensive and rude and made me feel uncomfortable. I don’t want to see bottles of Possible urine on arrival. My tent did not zip up at all so potentially anything could have crawled into it. The insect screen was totally ripped letting in a million bugs . The bugs that circulated the tent were unbelievable. The host was not welcoming. I need someone from Hipcamp to contact me ASAP about this campground.

Do not come to this site. The photos are very deceiving and the host is not friendly at all. It's very dusty and buggy and the beach is not nice for kids to play on due to rocks.

Nice, clean place. We were unlucky with the weather when we arrived, but the site was sturdy and secure. It was very clean and nice to have a dresser and a deck. It does get cold at night so make sure to bring warm blankets. The showers and bathroom were very clean and the staff was very nice and super attentive. Our neighbor kept yelling at his wife and family the whole time which was the only thing that made it unpleasant, but other than that it is a very nice place. Just bring warm clothes for the night time.

Great basecamp for exploring the Mono Basin and all the fun adventures off 395. The canvas tent/wood structures were a fun and unique way to experience camping but with some added headroom and a comfy mattress. Just a few feet from the shore, the views are epic! Really can’t say that enough, was wild listening to waves crashing just a few feet from the tent and also look right outside and see the snow covered peaks of the Sierras - especially at sunset and sunrise. Bridgeport is such a special place. I knew of some places I wanted to explore but Chase recommended some other hikes and provided a great map of the area. I was solo camping so it was a perfect place for quiet solitude, to watch the waves and rest-up between hikes but cant wait to bring back friends n enjoy the campfire pit and grilling beachside. A little later in the summer I imagine it’s the perfect place to stay up late and stare up at the stars over the reservoir.

While the description mentioned it wasn’t quite the most private, it never mentioned that it is quite literally in the banks of an R.V. park. Every single photo is deceiving as it only shows views in front of the tents and not behind. Behind each tent is the parking lot of an extremely active R.V. park. The tents are not super far apart either, so essentially there is no privacy or even space to social distance at this location. I pulled into the park, extremely confused and when I arrived the tent had clearly not been cleaned in this COVID age. I didn’t end up staying, and I would not recommend unless you are looking to sleep in a heavily used tent in the bowels of an R.V. park. When I messaged the host for help I received no response and yet they called me to let me know I was late to my appointment after I cancelled my stay. Very disappointed, would not recommend.

The location of this spot was great for trips to Yosemite and Mammoth! It sits on the water and allows you to go on the lake to fish and ride in boats! The site is not necessarily private being that it’s located in front of several trailers and RVs and the other residents in tents were about 10-15 feet away and the area is safe! The major downside to this site is that there are swarms of bugs everywhere!! They get in your tent and make getting in and out stressful. We didn’t get to interact with Chase, but his aunt and gramma greeted us and were SO sweet!! They told us that the buggies don’t bite(which is great) but there were still a lot and it was a lot for us to handle in and out. Bummed that the buggies were there and it wasn’t talked about but the pics do look like the post!!

Loved this spot. Amazing hikes close by, hot springs, and some cool history. Best part for me were friendly locals and no crowds!

Can’t beat the lake view from the little porch, easy to find and easy to check in. Any questions or recommendations Chase can help with that.
Thank you Chase!
