Tadpole Manor, lies between Eugene OR & the Pacific 1/2 mile off of Highway 36. A working farm, community resource, art house and retreat. Deadwood is a valley of artists, farmers, loggers & real home town folks: stay, be pampered, see real abundance, like ole times. Tour the local farms, go to the beach, see the slides at Triangle Lake, breathe, learn, and just be. Seasonally there is apple pressing, blueberry and raspberry picking, and a Sunday Farmers Market in Deadwood. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent at our secluded site! Listen to the sounds of the stream as you explore our food forest and forage in the garden. Tadpole Manor is part of a new culture of sharing, trust, abundance and kindness. Our home is on a few acres of land, amongst trees, alongside a year-round creek. We have cats, dogs, and chickens that will share the land with you. Cook your meals in our communal outdoor kitchen or with your own camp stove.  Take a dip in the creek. There is a central fire pit, a cobb oven, rocket stove and BBQ grill too. Explore local farms and if you aren't in the mood to cook, the Deadwood Tavern and General Store is 5 miles west.  The Sunday Farmers Market (11-2) has fresh produce, baked goods, and local crafts.  There may be goat milk and cheese,  Meet the locals who live in this eclectic community  of Deadwood in the Siuslaw River Watershed. Here is  a snapshot of my long term PHILOSOPHY  of my land.  Especially apt at this time.    It is an essay I found in a WeMoon 2009  Calendar and was attributed to "anonymous":    SANCTUARY Resting place, a stop on the current- underground railroad for today’s earth activists. This is a place where wanderers, weary or not, can light for a while, tell their stories, get their hands in the garden dirt,or sit in silence. Because of the current political climate, these kinds of safe places are becoming increasingly important for those who tread the path of change-invokers and rabble-rousers. For many, the choice to be an activist means being without a permanent home. This is a place for those who have chosen the Gypsy’s road to ground, reconnect to Mother Earth, recharge so they can go out into the world again with renewed inspiration, energized to do the vital work of steering the world onto a healthier path. Warm beds, private space, healthy food, patience. These are our contributions for making positive change in the world.
