For a bustling but relaxed outdoor atmosphere, try Mound Valley Campground. Located within easy distance of incredible hiking, horseback riding, and nature-viewing, Mound Valley is also a great place to just stay put and chill out by Big Hill Lake. Fishing is absolutely top-notch, you’ll be near one of the only sand beaches in Kansas, and you’ll be surrounded by good company. Sites are close together but vary widely in size, with some spacious enough to accommodate even the largest of RVs.

Great spot to camp and relax. This is a COE managed campground and it is popular so reservations during camping season is recommended. For tent campers, make sure you check out the pics of the site before booking. There may not be a space to setup the tent at the site on grass.
