Private Riverfront Retreat on the Scenic Waccamaw Escape to your own private getaway on the beautiful Waccamaw River in Conway, South Carolina. Tucked beside the peaceful Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club—but well outside the golf community—this 2.2-acre property offers unmatched privacy and tranquility. Enjoy exclusive access to over 350 feet of serene riverfront, shaded by towering hardwoods and pines. This quiet retreat feels a world away from the hustle and bustle, yet it’s ideally located for exploring the area. Historic downtown Conway, with its charming shops, restaurants, and scenic Riverwalk, is just 10 miles away via Hwy 905. If you're craving sand and surf, the north end of Myrtle Beach is only 15.5 miles away via Hwy 22, with quick connections to Hwy 31 for easy travel to North Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Garden City, Murrells Inlet, and the rest of the Grand Strand. Whether you're looking to relax in nature, paddle along the river, or explore the nearby coastal towns, this peaceful haven offers the perfect basecamp. *We now have a commercial portable toilet for your convenience. The toilet is serviced and cleaned weekly by the contractor* ***For your information*** There are two security cameras on site, one watches the entrance to the property (for obvious reasons), and the other is pointed at the river in the center of the property (this is because I need to know the height of the river at times, especially this time of year with hurricane season). Neither of these cameras look towards the interior of the property, or towards the "beach/kayak launch" where you can walk to the water. I have included photos in the listing where you can see screen shots of what these cameras' fixed viewpoints are. Rest assured, your privacy is not compromised.*** FOR TRASH DISPOSAL, there is an Horry County Recycling Center convieniently located 6 miles from the campsite, on Hwy 905. Here's the address: 7554 Highway 905, Conway 29526. Here's their days/hours of operation from the Horry County website: Hours: Monday, Wednesday - Saturday, 7AM - 7PM, Sunday, 1PM - 7PM-CLOSED Tuesday

3.5 acre property, last remaining part of old inlet horse farm, with plenty of natural buffers from the few neighbors in our vicinity and between our camp sites, as well as the road. So close to everything the inlet area has to offer. Beaches, tidal inlet with boat ramps, Waccamaw River with boat ramps, restaurants, shops, bars, State Parks, nature preserves, fun attractions and much, much more, all just moments away. We are set up as a “primitive” camping experience, the property is kept very natural, unmanicured for the most part, little to no herbicides or insecticides used here. It’s a work in progress, is difficult for me to tackle chores due to physical disabilities, so some private areas are disorganized at this time. I live here full time, with two cats & 5 chickens whom are all free range. I live here in a double wide by myself, two outdoor cats. Deer, fox, rabbits, hawks and the like are common visitors. This is brand new to me, lots of improvements to be made in the future to make a guests stay even better, so for right now it’s bare bones. Can accommodate tents or certain campers. No pump out, no electricity or running water for “sites” yet, if ever, but running water is here and available for free. Additions to come soon: outdoor shower, available compost toilet available for rent while here, fresh herbs, vegetables, fresh local eggs, firewood, and covered gathering/ cooking area (not built yet) and much more, I’m really excited. Open to idea’s and options. No fireworks/ gunfire allowed at anytime, no “parties”, but gatherings, campfires, games and fun always welcome. I prefer meeting guests apon arrival to answer any questions and help all feel comfortable. I do have medical conditions that may prohibit it at times though.

This is a place to get away and enjoy nature but you aren't too far from a local grocery store, a few restaurants and a local park. If you are here for the beach, the closest beach and also our favorite is Cherry Grove Beach, only a 30 minute drive. There are a few kayak rental companies we can connect you to if you'd like and we know all the local spots for adventure, food and shopping. Pick a hammock and relax listening to the birds, we also have an outdoor kitchen to prepare food and community firepits to gather around. We want this to be a relaxing getaway, to connect with yourself, others and nature.
