Our property is located only 5 min from Flatrock, 10 minutes from Hendersonville, and 35 minutes from Asheville! This means you’re never far from services if you need to grab something during your stay.
There are many points of interest nearby including Pisgah Forest (35 min) where you can visit Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock. WE are also only 35 min from Dupont Forest where you can visit many incredible falls including Hooker, Triple, and High Falls. Chimney rock is only 20 min from our property as well. On top of all that, famous Blue Ridge Parkway is only 35 min away as well. You should be able to find the adventure that best suits you!
You can find apple picking, hiking, zip-lining, kayaking, swimming, and tubing! Whatever suits you, just let us know and we can help you find a resource or outfitter.
We love meeting our guests and live nearby. We plan to greet everyone upon arrival but then leave everyone to enjoy their stay. We are reachable at anytime!

This listing is for our campsite 'Starlight'. This is one site that accommodates up to 6 people. This site is down in the field bordering the woods and 15000 acres of state game land. Quiet setting away, yet within walking distance of our bath/shower house. This site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and plenty of free firewood for use during your stay! Each of our campsites are separate but you can expect to see other campers around the property or at facilities. Here are the amenities we offer for each site:

Enjoyed my camping at Ray and Shannon's place. This used to be an old church camp so they have a large bathhouse for use that could handle twenty or more people. The camp site was very secluded with plenty of cut firewood available. Ducks donkeys and cows to see along with a pond and walking trail. Enjoyed meeting them and their kids also.
Tent camping at the Starlight Campsite was nice. The site had a bench, a picnic table, and a huge fire ring and tons of firewood.
The site was down a grassy hill that my Prius could go up and down while dry, but once it rained I had to park at the level area by the bathhouse. If you have inclement weather you may need a more more substantial vehicle to ensure getting up the wet grass hill.
The site was nice and private. Another group was on the same hill but it still felt remote.
Every night so many fireflies lit up the field and the donkeys at the top of the hill were cool to see every afternoon.
An awesome surprise was a fireworks display during our July 4th weekend.
Just a short drive from Downtown Hendersonville, and in proximity to Dupont State Recreational Forest, Mountain View Acres is in a prime location for peaceful relaxation or adventure.
I would describe our stay at Mountain View Acres as a pure joy. Our kind hosts, Shannon and Ray, were amazing right from the start. Upon our late, nighttime arrival, Shannon was great at keeping in contact with us to make sure we safely made it to Starlight campsite.
During our short stay at Mountain View Acres, we camped in an open, rolling, grassy site. The camping plot was very well-maintained, and came equipped with a fire ring, many great places to relax, and access to a huge bathroom facility. This Hipcamp offered everything my husband and I could possibly need for an enjoyable camping experience, and so much more...
The next morning, after having had a quiet night’s sleep in our tent, my husband and I were ready to explore the grounds of Mountain View Acres. This place is like a summer camp! A pond for fishing, hiking trails, shooting range, rope swing, water slide, climbing wall, indoor gym and game room...there was so much to see and do! Shannon and Ray kindly walked us around the property and introduced us to their ducks, chickens, cows, donkeys, and rabbit. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy here!

We had an excellent time at this camp spot. Ray, Shannon, and the rest of their family we’re extremely gracious hosts! They spent time creating special animal experiences for my kids. We loved meeting the cows, donkeys, ducklings, chicks, and bunny! We couldn’t ask for a better family camping experience. The campsite is located close to Hendersonville and other great spots for hiking and exploring!
This is my second staying on Ray and Shannon’s land and i didn’t think it could get better than my last visit. The owners are beyond accommodating and helpful. Very quiet, and all around a great area and atmosphere to camp, especially with my dog!

The campsite site and property was perfect for me and my dog! We loved the hike on property and the farm animals!! The hosts were amazing and they also provided all the wood I needed for my fire!
After driving up from Raleigh, our original camping plans fell through. Before driving all the way back home, we were sent a link to Starlight Campsite and based on the reviews alone we decided to book it. It absolutely surpassed all our expectations and turned our almost ruined weekend right around. Ray and Shannon and their family were so kind and accommodating. Bathhouse was well kept and clean. Their land is stunning with views in all directions. The farm animals on their property were icing on the cake! Close enough to local attractions, shops, and food. The group of us who stayed there are already thinking about our next stay at Starlight Campsite or maybe even one of their other sites. We had an awesome weekend! 10/10 would recommend!!
