Relaxing, peaceful adventure
We had a wonderful experience! Our kids had a blast playing in the river and adventuring! Christian was a great host, got in late and had our site ready and even got the fire started! We can’t wait to come back!
Even though the river was way down, we still were able to hear it continually. It was great to be able to let our dogs be off leash. I think it would be difficult to navigate getting into the river campsite with any size RV, we had a small camper which we were able to back in only because the host was there to guide my husband into turning around in a very small space. The fire ring was wonderful. If tent camping, it would be important to know the porta potty was a long way from the site, and would be difficult to walk to, especially in the middle of the night! Christian was great to work with and his host was wonderful!
We stayed at the Linville River Camp. Awesome spot! It is very nice to be secluded and hear the sounds of the river. The campsite is very close to trails for mountain biking and hiking and there is a nice brewery just a few miles away. All in all it was a fantastic experience at the Linville River Camp!
Such a great location! Close to a local brewery, Lake James, and so much more! Very helpful hosts who were willing to help with any questions we had. We will definitely be back. Perfect quiet get away!
One of the best hipcamps!
We had a blast with our 4 kids (ages 10 and under) for 2 nights. Wish we could've stayed longer. We parked our chairs in the creek while they played. Wish we could've stayed longer. There's so much to do in the area, or you could be perfectly content with the creek and fun yard activities and Zipline at the pasture area. Would definitely recommend if you love camping but prefer to be away from people!
Relaxing river spot
Beautiful spot right on the River. Nice friendly hosts!
There is a house across the River so not totally private. They do have a sink and a porta potty, which we didn’t use but was nice to see. Great fire pit, which we didn’t use because it was too hot! Nice ladder step left at the site helped us tie a tarp to the tree over our tent to protect from rain. We loved the Sasquatch in the field on the way to the site:)
Loved it, but slightly confusing.
First time at this site with a handful of friends. We stayed riverside and really enjoyed it. The place is well maintained and has great accessibility to nearby hiking, fishing, boating, etc. Personally I found the booking process confusing, particularly regarding the price for an extra vehicle. Christian was very responsive to my questions (on all manner of things), but I was still unsure why an extra car alone is so high when the number of people camping is not changing. We parked extra cars at a nearby trailhead to avoid the unnecessary cost. Otherwise, highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed camping here along the river. We had an incredibly relaxing time. We explored Linville Falls nearby and enjoyed dinners at the Fonta Flora Brewery for the ease of it. This campsite is a gem. Thanks for sharing it Christian!
