Amazing spot! The forest, the beach and the campsite are beautiful. There is a hike up the mountain from the campsite, the beach has turtles and more than 18 types of fishes. The campsite is simple and yet everything you might need. Being able to do a campfire everynight was a highlight.

The platform at Cane Bay was great! Perfect for our tent, simple toilet and showers, plenty if tree cover for staying in the shade during the day. We were greeted by a peacock when we arrived!

Such a perfect site! We stayed in one of the AC containers and it was such a great experience. It was nice being able to get back from a day hiking or at the beach and cool down the container enough to then be able to sleep with the screened windows open and sleep with the night sounds and breeze. Everything was extremely clean and such a nice bathroom and kitchen set up. We couldn’t get over how thoughtful the beach gear available was. Location was great with easy access to Salt Pond Beach and Coral Bay (Johnnie Lime’s is a must for dinner). We loved also watching the sunset behind the mountains from the front porch, the stars fill the sky at night and the Bananaquits in the morning while getting ready for the day.

The location for beach access and several small beachside restaurants was perfect. The charging set up for phones was great. Each site is very private. Camp stove and utensils was good. Bed was comfortable with optional mosquitoe netting was a bonus.

A week wasn't long enough. What a magical place. The community in Cane Bay is amazing. The cabin was stellar, with everything we needed. Ryan was an attentive host and made sure we were well hydrated. We are already planning our next trip here and we never go to the same place twice. We love it here.

About

Is this the actual spot where Columbus landed? Well, it's certainly close to here—but that's far from the only reason to visit this historical park. Take an evening tour in a see-through kayak through the bioluminescent waters.

Pontoon tours in the daytime also let you explore the whole Salt River Bay area. Knowledgeable boat captains can fill you in on the wildlife of the area. Keep your eyes peeled for mangroves and jellyfish—and if you're a birder, you'll go crazy over all the amazing birds in the area. This area has also been home to quite a few shipwrecks, and some of the masts still rise above the water.

The Visitor Center has some interesting local artifacts as part of its documentation of 2,000 years of human history in the Caribbean. Get out your camera, because the views from here over Salt Bay are definitely worth a few shots.

You're in the tropics here, so bring that mosquito repellent if you don't want to spend your visit scratching. This is probably not the best spot for lounging on the beach, but that bioluminescence tour in a clear-bottom kayak is unbeatable.
