Bridgewater is a working cattle property that borders the Dawson ranges. We are also located an hour from the Blackdown Tablelands.
There is an abundance of native wildlife, and wide open skies great for stargazing at night. There is also an abundance of native trees and plenty of wood to collect for your fires at night when the season allows. Plenty of space to have privacy and relax in the bush with beautiful views of the mountains to the south and west.
Located at the end of a 21km gravel council road you will be rewarded with beautiful views, sunrises, sunsets and peace and quiet in abundance apart from the wonderful wildlife that is.
Pull in to a quiet bush setting, set up your fire pit for the evening and grab a drink and enjoy the birds come to life, perhaps see the wild horses, and cattle or the kangaroos, emus or brolgas go past.
Enjoy a day trip to the stunning Blackdown Tablelands or simply relax in the beautiful surroundings. Bring your bikes for a ride on the dirt tracks.
For safety though remember to supervise your kids at all times as we have open waterways and dams so there are some hazards. Also remember that eastern brown snakes are in this region so be snake aware.
If you bring your pets they need to be on a leash at all times so that they are safe, there are sometimes Dingoes and wild pigs that wander through the property seasonally.
There is some mobile phone service at the campsites but not always. We look forward to helping you enjoy your stay on our property.
Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.
Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided.

🌿 River Camps – Native Bush Camping
Set along the quiet riverbank on our working horse property, the PennyPegasus FarmLife river camps offer true native bush camping. These sites are private, peaceful, and surrounded by natural terrain—perfect for guests who want an authentic outback experience.
Access is via a gravel/dirt road suitable for semi-off-road caravans, off-road vans, camper trailers, and 4WDs. Low-clearance caravans are not suitable.
The river camps are unpowered and unfenced, with open space, wildlife, and the sound of water flowing past. There are no built facilities at the river, so guests must be self-contained or use the homestead amenities. Please let us know if you require access to these facilities.
Please phone or text when you arrive so we can help you navigate the gates, horses, and parking safely.
🔥 Fire Pit Use
Sensible, contained fire pits are welcome.
Please check with us before lighting any fire, as local fire bans and weather conditions can change quickly.
Remember: if a fire escapes, our horses could lose their grazing pasture for months, so safe fire management is essential.

PennyPegasus FarmLife is a small, hands-on horse property where guests can enjoy genuine rural experiences.
Depending on the day, you may see horses being fed, trained, groomed, or moved between paddocks. Guests are welcome to watch from a safe distance, ask questions, and learn about horse care, confidence-building, and daily farm routines.
Our horses are calm, well-trained, and part of our family. We take pride in offering a quiet, respectful farm environment where animals are handled with care and visitors can enjoy the rhythm of country life.

Wow wee!!! What a special place this is. Camping overlooking the river with total privacy. Plenty of firewood to be used. We only stayed one night, but would have loved to stay longer. Penny and her husband showed us the way to the exclusive camping spot. If you have high clearance then not a problem and well worth the track in. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Anita made us feel very welcome to her and her husband's property. The peace and quiet was just amazing. We loved watching the birds, cows and horses roam freely on the property. If we are ever out that way again we would definitely stay there again.

This is a truly special place. It is an active working cattle station so the experience is all about that (yep poo and all but only from the livestock). It offers the tranquility of waking up with birds, the occasional moo and Scott in his car heading out to do whatever-station owners do (he’s not too early). It was an amazing experience. Anita and Scott are the ultimate hosts genuinely setting out to provide you the opportunity to fulfill the experience that you set out for when you booked this HipCamp. Had a lovely stay at Bridgewater. Solitude was awesome. We were visited by cows, horses, pigs, emus and abundant birds. Simply stunning. Heaps of wood provided and left to enjoy. Thank you would definitely recommend. Used as a base for Blackdown Tablelands NP. Bit of a drive but enjoyable and added to the trip.

Peaceful camping.
Bridgewater camp is very peaceful and private and easy to find. Scott and Anita are friendly hosts and are welcoming and easy to get along with. Instructions and information is clear. Ample firewood supplied with fire pits and water. Good all weather access and an excellent base to visit Blackdown Tablelands National Park.
Five stars all round.
More than happy to recommend to anyone heading up that way.

The drive and walk up to Rainbow Fall is definitely worth it. I won't say the walk was easy coming back, but it was breath taking to see the waterfall and the water holes. Highlight of our trip.

Family friendly park, Rainbow Falls were the highlight for us. Take the track to the right of the stairs to find the two small pools and waterfall. 4WD track to Charlevue lookout was amazing.
