Description

Thain Creek Campground offers some excellently forested camping in the Highwoods Mountains in the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Fish for brook and rainbow trout in Briggs Creek and Thain Creek, and definitely hike up to Windy Mountain on a 6-mile loop trail that offers some pretty killer views of the surrounding plains and mountains. There are plenty of other trails along the creeks to help you get lost in the forest, too.
