This 21-acre wooded park is one of 24 managed by the Portage County Parks Department and is conveniently located next to the picturesque 42-acre Collins Lake. The lake provides ample opportunities for fishing, boating, and swimming, making it a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy a variety of amenities, including a picnic lodge, a boat ramp, playground equipment, a trailer dump station, showers, and a small swimming beach. The campground is open from May 15 to September 30, with all sites equipped with electrical hookups for added convenience. Reservations can be made in person at the Portage County Parks office or online using MasterCard or VISA. It’s important to note that reservations must be made at least seven days in advance and can be secured up to 11 months ahead of your desired stay. Additionally, a handicapped-accessible site is available for those in need. A seasonal park manager resides on-site to ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors.
