Charming Get Away Off Beaten Path
Our party of 3 really enjoyed staying at Wandering Woodlands! We stayed at campsite 4, which we found a little more private than the rest. Despite any "inconvenience" their sounds may cause, I specifically chose this site as a surprise for my friend who adores cows. The cowfield added a lot of charm to the site - it is adorable to watch the calves frolick around! The cows frequently bellowed, and sometimes the sounds they made were alarming, but we quickly got used to it and more often than not found it amusing. The campsites are pretty close together compared to regular state campground and less private in general, and though there were many other campers, it was not an issue as a majority of them were very respectful of others. Port-a-potty was very clean, did not smell, and was well stocked. The only major issue we faced was that the site seemed to sit close by to a pound/stillwater which was evident by the nightly sound of frogs and a lot of flies and mosquitoes compared to other places on the peninsula where we were. Bring bug spray, especially in summer! Otherwise, great trip. Would love to try the geodomes. Would come again!
