Amazing nature overlook retreat
Absolutely wonderful spot, tucked back away from the road. Fantastic private spot with a gorgeous view of the lake and town, absolutely filled with local wildlife from birds, bees, and bunnies. There is abundant foxglove across the entire area and campsite that attracts pollinators, including a large number of hummingbirds allowing for multiples to be seen all at the same time. Zach was always super responsive and made the trip super easy to facilitate.
The road itself was rather steep, but plenty wide, and my 2 wheel drive Veloster was able to make it up with no real issues. I would still recommend a 4 wheel drive, especially if you are not the most familiar with steep road driving.
Only downside to the spot is a lack of natural shade (but this also adds to the appeal of the spot being as open as it is). I didn't bring any extra cover other than my tent and car, but a canopy would be a great thing to bring if you plan to spend the afternoon at the campsite and your tent doesn't have the best airflow. Overall, not a negative of the spot itself, just something to keep in mind that I overlooked in my own planning.
