It was ha horrible spot for my 2 boy's and myself. Very small area in the middle of sticker bushes, 100 feet from someone's house. It would work in a pinch. I pulled in and pulled out and just kept driving

Great base camp for exploring the north cascades area. The site has more space than I anticipated. We had a six person and two person tent and plenty of space for another tent. The site is nestled into beautiful mossy woods. There is a space to set up your hammock. Port a potty was freshly cleaned. Noise from traffic at night was not a bother while wearing earplugs. A few mosquitos only at night - no bother when using bug spray.

Cute little spot in the trees. Itâs perfect for a tent, a van, or maybe a truck with a pop-up camper. Our small trailer was able to get in, but just barely. When reading 20â, take it as total length (auto and RV) and not the length of the RV).
The space is clean and well maintained. No fires, as there is a ban, but the fire pit is well dug and placed. There is a picnic table, a couple of solar lights and a couple of tiki torches. There is also a porta potty that we did not use as our trailer has a bathroom.
GREAT little spot! Easy to find and I backed my F150 in, so unloading our tent/etc. was easier. I'm used to apartment neighbors and city noise, so the road noises at night didn't really bother me. But I'd recommend bringing ear plugs if you are used to sleeping in silence.
We would come again. When we pulled in we weren't sure exactly where to go but eventually got there. The spot is private but only 100 feet off the highway so you do get some road noise (some trucks and loud motorcycles late at night and early morning). The camp is out of the way unless you have other things you plan to do in the area like Hike or Fish.
The hosts prepared our camp well and left us drinks, chocolate bars, marshmallows and graham crackers, bug spray and a lighter. They also left us with stacked firewood. This thoughtful preparation was above and beyond. There were some Tiki torches but we couldn't get them to light after verifying they had fuel and even tried turning the wick upside down. I suspect they got water in them.
All in all, we had a pleasant experience. We wish there was river access but didnt see any.
There is a great general store in Darrington (between this place and Arlington) as well as an IGA grocery store if you need anything.

The Sauk Hideaway was great. Convenient, clean and quiet. It did everything we needed for our one night stay. Definitely recommend. Small for our Class B but that was our issue not theirs.....đ
A nice forested HipCamp site, with a picnic table, fire pit, and clean bathroom. It felt peaceful and cozy, with sunlight filtering through the tree leaves. Expect road noise, as the campsite is tucked away out of sight down a short driveway, but maybe 100 yards off the highway - there were frequent motorcycles passing by on the sunny weekend. Also, I would not feel comfortable staying here in WIND, there are plenty of trees overhead that could drop a branch.
Would stay again!

We had a good time. Hosts left a little basket of smores ingredients, bug spray, and trash bags which was kind. Only downside was the road noise but thatâs to be expected when youâre so close to the hwy. Overall was a good experience and we had a good time on our one night stay.

The campsite was cozy and cute. We were able to back in our small pop up camper, sit by the fire, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Just what we needed for a weekend getaway!
We had a group of 9 total, 7 adults & 2 kids. You have to be strategic with a bigger group but it worked out great! We had a 10 man tent, 6 man & a 2 man with the final group of us car camping. Had plenty of room for a full kitchen space & 2 canopies as well. Itâs a wonderful home base for days at the river! As stated in the listing, youâll hear the road but wasnât a big deal to me! Also has a great tree for any tree climbing kiddos!

Easy & straightforward! The space was tucked away with nice privacy but still close and very easy to locate. It was a great place to spend the night along our travel route.
what a wonderful peaceful place to camp. Happy to be their first camper. Defiantly recommend. They even had a little basket full of stuff for s'mores and a couple of other tings to enjoy. Thank you for the wonderful place to stay. We will be back!!
