Pend Oreille County’s park and trails offer a unique outdoor experience, combining stunning natural beauty with abundant wildlife and a peaceful atmosphere. Established in the early 1980s, Pend Oreille County was granted jurisdiction over this expansive 440-acre park, conveniently located just north of the Spokane County line along Highway 2. Visitors can enjoy a day-use picnic area, as well as primitive tent camping and small RV camping options (note that there are no hookups available). The park is teeming with wildlife, including elk, white-tailed deer, moose, bobcats, bears, and a variety of small mammals and bird species. However, the true highlight of this park is its majestic old-growth trees, which create a serene backdrop for outdoor activities. With its combination of natural beauty and recreational opportunities, Pend Oreille County’s park is an ideal spot for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
