New Kosmos was once sold to us with a chuckle as the "Butts" property. The Butts' were once a logging family around Morton whose story is for an other time. As we rounded the horseshoe bend for the first time on a sunny day, we were captivated by clean waters and mystical views of surrounding territory, including Klickitat, or mount Adams, Washington's second and the cascades' third highest volcano. Still, there are enough mature tree groves to satisfy on the property, and the land "Butts" up to a grand sylvan abyss. We called the place New Kosmos to pay homage to the nearby sunken ghost town of Kosmos, a sad silt covered token of human ingenuity in the quest for endless power. We hope to share with you the view from our pocket of the mountains, to share the love and reverence for life as it dances its delicate ballet as we spin forever around the sun.

New Kosmos Tiny Village is a magical and beautiful place. Dave, the host, was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind. His doggies, Rhea and Frank, are the sweetest beings ever and our dog got along fabulously with them. I would recommend this place 100%

New Kosmos lived up to its name

New Kosmos Tiny Village

We loved New Kosmos Tiny Village. Dave was very welcoming. It was easier to get to than I had thought. There were two secluded spots to camp, and 4 good places to hangout (table and chair set up, hammock, the big log in the clearing, and down by the creek). His pets were friendly, including Frida the goat. Our dog loved playing with Raya. There was a good place to hike right on the property too.

Delightful forest campout

New Kosmos Tiny Village

My daughter and I stayed here and it was really delightful. There is an upper area for cooking and campfire. Then down a sweet little forest pathway, we found where we set up our tent in a little nook amongst the tall trees. There were hammocks already set up for our use. Further down the path, we came to a little creek where we fetched our water from a spring. The hosts were very friendly and kind enough to show us around their gardens and introduce us to their animals, which my daughter really enjoyed.

Cozy retreat at New Kosmos

New Kosmos Tiny Village

Our family enjoyed staying at New Kosmos Tiny Village. Drinking from the fresh spring, the hammocks in the shaded forest, and our quiet camping spot near a wild Cherry tree made it all enjoyable. Sarah was also very hospitable and gave us tips on nearby river dips.

Fantastic site. Private safe and picturesque. Right alongside serene natural spring. Great place to pitch a tent plus there’re cozy hammocks and a sweet compostable toilet.
