Jo-El Tree Farm

James was lovely! We came in late from Canada for a concert and he still came to meet us and show us everything. He also came up for a visit the next day 😊 The site is beautiful! We stayed in number one with a fairly large (about 10x6) and it fit well with a little adjustment. Also very close to anything you may need. Wish we lived closer so we could come visit more!

Tacoma Narrows Bridge Cycling Fun

Since I was bike packing from West Richland I had 284 miles to get from home, to the campsite. Unfortunately, I needed to add another day at the last minute, on my outward journey. Jim was so helpful and allowed me to use one of his other sites instead. Jim let me use his garden hose so that I could rinse the road grime for me. Since, I had crossed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge that day, the goal of my trip, I decided to treat myself to a pizza. Jim so kindly brought the pizza to my campsite when it was delivered. Delightful conversations and an all round nice campsite with nearby disc golf (not sure if it was a whole course), and a communal campfire area. The campground was clean and tidy. The outhouse was also clean and nicely decorated. Really enjoyed myself! And, I made it to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and back, nine days, 529 miles altogether. So much fun.

My dad and I stayed at this site last second during our travels and we could not have been happier! The site was clean, lovely, the bathroom smelled good, the grounds were beautiful, and the host was wonderful. We even made blackberry pancakes from the berries we picked. Good memories were made here and I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much! The site was great. Shared portapotty, fire-pit (for when there is no burn ban) and seating area. Also has garbage can / recycle. Host was extremely kind and checked in to see if we needed anything.

Great spot and amazing farm!

This is our second time camping here, but a different site this time. We had an AMAZING stay! Our cat loved the secluded campsite and it was a perfect base camp for some sea fishing in Seattle. Our last night there was a local party that lasted pretty late and he refunded us the fee, which was not necessary but so appreciated. We will definitely be returning again.

My fam and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at camping at Jo El Tree Farm! It was our first time using Hipcamp and it was great first experience. We had the area to ourselves, which made it feel extra private. An added plus was the many activities around including disk golf. We unfortunately didn't get to participate in any of them since we were out most of the day and evening but it was nice having those options! James is a gem and stopped by to check on us to see if we needed anything. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Great campsite! Lots of trees, big and at the edge of the property, so fewer neighbors, though we had none, flat for tents and pretty quiet, (save a small amt of car noise once in awhile). Slept great. Missed my shower, but had a hose (and a washcloth I brought)! James is great, friendly and helpful. Nicest pit toilet I have ever seen with pictures, clean, not smelly! Easy access from campsite.

Very kind and attentive host, clean and well thought out campsites, and a quiet peaceful location. We spent one night when we were visiting family in the area. Loved walking around the grounds, exploring the trails through the old tree farm, playing frisbee golf and tether ball. Would definitely stay here again. The site itself is a little close to the neighboring site but the host has installed privacy screen and the trees provide a noise buffer. We were aware they were there but not bothered by it.

Our kids had a blast here, and our oldest said it was the best thing he'd ever done. The site was clean and comfortable and had a good curated space for our kids to run around and explore safely. We could not have hoped for a better first camping trip with young children. Thank you!

My husband and I loved this site. We stayed for a fairly long time and not only was James accommodating and friendly, but he definitely goes above and beyond to care for the land and for anyone using it. The property is absolutely beautiful, and welcoming. Husband- i didnt know there was land this nice in tacoma or around it still and the owner and the neighbor help to keep up the property so well This is definitely a hidden gem and i would definitely recommend coming to see the wild life and to just experience this and be able to relax close to home The owner is very respectful and friendly- most of all respectful When you decide to have a nice weekend or time to experience this land with great views and outdoor things like frisbee- take your time to converse with the owner hes always around and doing something productive and wouldn’t mind conversation Overall the best experience in my home city. i would never mind coming back or recommend coming and enjoying this land.

10/10 experience. James is a super nice guy. The property is gorgeous and very thoughtfully maintained. Little library is super cute and we appreciated the honor system bug spray. It was just a little bit mosquitoe-y but not bad at all, just pack a citronella candle. Bathroom was very clean, loved the pictures. The cat with the amanita muscaria was both of our favorite. Folf course is super fun, tether ball and horse shoes were a welcome surprise for us! Lots of shade, beautiful sunset and sunrise.

We loved this campsite! Quiet, peaceful location. Lovely private rural setting. Nice flat sites. James was super helpful--he brought us wood for the communal campfire and a hose to clean up the day we were leaving. Highly recommend!

We were lucky to have almost the whole place to ourselves. Super fun spot, super friendly and helpful host. My kids loved all the extras (tether ball and horse shoes), we didn’t try disc golf. “Road” (very narrow wood chip path) down to site 2 made me a bit nervous, but was fine. It would be super fun to rent all the sites with a larger group or multiple families.

Beautiful, Quiet spot and very local. Feels like you're further away from town than you are. Plenty of activities to do and areas to explore. Clean and well maintained bathroom and site. The host is incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful.

We had a lovely stay with our 2 dogs! Our 80 Series Land Cruiser fit perfect in the parking spot at campsite #1 and Jim trimmed some of the trees back to fit our rooftop tent. We loved this site because it was the most private (had a picnic table + 2 chairs). There is a communal outhouse which was super clean and cutely decorated. Jim has a 5-hole disc golf course on the property which we played! He has discs you can use, but we brought our own. We also added-on the propane fire pit and 1/2 dozes eggs from his ducks right there on the tree farm. :) Jim was SO kind and just a gem - super responsive too. The campsite and property was very clean and we would stay again! Oh! There is also horseshoes, little book library, and tetherball.
