Welcome to the emerald green River front and swimming hole for adults and children 5 years of age and older.... PLEASE READ the description for each site. Photos reflect the whole property not just 1 camp site. (Swimming hole is deep) There are lots of shallow places for kids. Let's chat if you want a younger child. I am flexible. All sites have access to the river and the beach. Great for biking on the quiet little country Rd that is split between the the river sites and other sites. Playing on the beach, swimming and exploring the surrounding area. Watch and listen for the magic of the fish jump (fishing allowed with license) Lots of wildlife! Visit the only working covered bridge in Washington State. Bring a kayak or floaties. Ride your bike on a beautiful country road. The water is very amazing and surrounded by woods. There are 2 sites directly on the river and 2 about 50' from the river with a river view. A few miles away is a little restaurant called Duffy's. Open only Thu - Sunday. It is 12 miles to nearest town in both directions for a store and gas. There is a Porta potty and picnic tables. No potable water yet so please bring your own. A contained fire allowed. Wood is available to buy. Most phones get service. No electric at this time. Pet friendly. Pets must be on a leash for their safety. ( You should be able to let you dogs run free down at the end of the beach) Life jackets are highly recommended for people who can't swim. Two sites have a little country rd that is between you and the riverfront that hardly gets used. The river is a stone throw away. Only 26 miles to Astoria Oregon and 34 miles to Long Beach Washington. There is a old farmhouse on the top of the hill that is not lived in. I store my tools in there that I use. All sites are huge. "The Hideout" is a very, very private camp in the woods. You can see around you but no one can see you. It is cozy and cool. It has a view of the river. Your not too far from the trail to the beach or the Porta poddy. You cannot have a actual fire pit but a propane fire pit if you want to bring one or you can rent one from Extras. There is a driveway beside you for parking. There is my yurt not to far away. But you are not seen. Bring water, town is 12 miles either way you go. Duffy's restaurant is a couple miles down the road. It's only open Thur Fri sat and Sunday. Children 4 and older only.

Welcome to this spacious and beautiful spot. Family friendly. Adults and children 4 yrs old and older and Pet friendly. Lets chat if you want younger children to come. This site is best suited for larger groups and dogs to have room. This is a huge site. Big enough for your own personal badmitten or volleyball net ECT. Great for a RV or campers too. This Site is situated beside the beautiful Gray's River but not directly on it. The tent area is across the little country rd. There is Beautiful scenery and trail to beaches. You can have a contained fire at your camp area. Your picnic table is by your camp. But you are also allowed to use the one on the river, in the center of the common area. Bring a bike for a relaxing country ride or a kayak. You are close to the only working Covered Bridge in Washington State. Lots of space to choose from for tent or small camper. Please note: You may be around other campers. It is 26 miles to Astoria Oregon and 34 miles to Long Beach Washington. There is a restaurant down the road a few miles. Open only from Thu - Sunday. Note: There is a old farmhouse on the top of the hill.

Welcome to this large camping spot. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION 😊 Adults and children 6 yrs old and older. Let's chat if you want to bring younger children, only because of vicinity to the river and barely used country Rd. (This is the most economicial site). It's great for people who just need to rest for the night and leave the next morning without spending a lot. You can park on the driveway next to the Port poddy. It also has a large tent spot next to the driveway and fire pit. It has a easy in and out access. It is NOT on the river. Photos reflect the whole property and common area where everyone can hang out if they want, not just your camp. The beautiful beach is just about 100' or less away. Pet friendly "This Is A No Trace Policy Site" (This means I don't have garbage pickup) I don't have the capability for this. I don't live there and to keep prices down it is a " No trace policy" 😊 There is a garbage disposal area on the top of KM about 5 miles away. It is open Thursday and Saturday only. . Be prepared for walking on the beach or just relaxing by the river at the rivers edge at the common area across the little country Rd. Where there is a picnic table. Watch ducks and fish jump. You are going to love it. Bring a bike for the casual ride on the beautiful country. Kayaks are welcome too. Note you may be around other campers. There is a lot of space down by the river. Two miles away is a little restaurant/ bar. Open only Thursday- Sun. Astoria Oregon is 26 miles away and Long Beach is about 34 miles away. It is 12 miles away from the nearest store. NOTE: There is a old farmhouse on top of the hill/ and the host yurt. Thank you for taking everything you brought in with you. Thank you for your interest. 😊

Waters Edge is a beautiful adults and 8 yrs of age and older site. If you want younger children or another vehicle please lets chat. It sits right on the edge of the river. Great for fishing 🎣. You are in the front row of every natural scene that happens in the river. Sights and sounds, watch fish ect.🐟. Enjoy a walk through the trail to the beach (all beach below the high water mark is public so a very long Beach to explore) or take a walk on the very quiet country Rd beside you. You have your own fire pit and table. There is a old farmhouse up the hill. You are 12 miles each way to a store. Enjoy the covered bridge down the rd. Please message me for questions. Thank you.

Welcome to the river! Very Private....This is a cozy, beautiful, adults only private site. This is a perfect size for 2 people that want privacy. "Park at your site" It is one of two sites that you can put a tent right on the river bank. You wake up with a beautiful view of river and beach. This particular site is not appropriate for children because of the vicinity to the water. You will have your own fire pit and table. You can unload and park by your site. There is a old farmhouse up the driveway that no one lives in. And very quiet country Rd that is near, that gets a car every 1/2 to an hour. You are a few miles from Duffy's restaurant (open Thu -Sunday). Gas is 12 miles, away and other restaurants are also 12 miles away. Come visit the only working covered bridge in Gray's River. Not far from Long Beach Washington or Astoria Oregon.

Fantastic riverfront camping on Mary’s beautiful peaceful land! Mary is a friendly host who gave clear directions, and signs making the site easy to find. Great location just a few miles from a covered bridge. It’s a peaceful, remote spot about 1 hour from groceries and gas, but perfectly situated for day trips to Long Beach and Astoria. Highly recommend and definitely will be back.

Mary is the best camp host I have had the opportunity to interact with. We were fine on our own but she was helping people start their camp fire fires. Mary’s place is 100% hers and takes care of it like it is. Wonderful camp host and faking care of campers.

THE HIDEOUT with a river view
The photos don't do it justice. We booked it at 7pm because the first come first serve spots were taken in Tillamook. And it was so easy to grab last minute. We had no problem setting up at night and there were so many surprises that made the camp trip our favorite one. Mary was such a great and mellow host compared to our other hip camp hosts.

Mary’s land is great! Right by a river if you want to explore, there’s a short trail down to the water. She was very responsive and welcoming. We were the only people there and it was very quiet and easy to set up.

Mary’s land is such a beautiful, peaceful place to get away and relax. The property is clean and well maintained, with great views, fire pits, and plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors. The fishing was amazing, and there are great trails to explore. You can spend the day down by the river fishing or swimming, or simply sit by the fire and read a book. It’s quiet, relaxing, and a perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature. We had a great time and would definitely come back!

We had a fantastic stay being next to the water and trail and loved falling asleep to the creek. The spot was closer to others than we expected but we enjoyed it nonetheless!

The photo of the campsite in the listing was not actually of our campsite, but of a different one, which felt a bit misleading. In four years of camping in Washington, I've never stayed at a campground where we were expected to haul our own week's worth of trash to a dump. We were told there was a designated disposal site nearby, but when we went to use it, it was closed. I think this is something that should be clearly disclosed before booking. On the positive side, the river was a lot of fun and our kids really enjoyed it. The trail was short but has several steep sections, so keep that in mind if you're camping with young children. One thing to note is that there is a house directly above the campsite. Its porch light was left on the entire time we were there, and it shone into our tent throughout the night, which made it difficult to keep the tent dark for sleeping.

A great little spot with an enamoring view driving in. A couple different camping sites around the area with a fun little creek at most a couple hundred feet from our camp site, which was the furthest from the creek (its close). The site I rented was a newer site in the wooded section, and it was covered with soft ground. Because of that (fire hazard) I rented the propane fire pit (wood fires not currently allowed at that particular site). That offered plenty of heat and a nice light source in the evening. The host offered us a table as well for the site which was nice to have. The wooded site has a lot of cleared nooks, which allowed a ton of space for cooking, sleeping and fire pit areas all under the tree canopy. Because of the tree coverage it felt like there was a lot of privacy.

Beautiful spot! It was our first experience with booking a hipcamp and it did not disappoint. My husband prefers less people but for me a toilet is a must so this was a great compromise for us. The location was clean, host was kind, and the environment was calm. Perfect area to jump in and swim or walk around and look at the rocks in the river.

Mary's property is a place to visit to be far from the maddening crowd. You may note from other reviews that a road bisects the property but you should know that at most a car passes once every few hours, if that. We stayed at Cozy for Two, which was just large enough to fit our tent - it's "cozy". However, we were able to use a picnic table and fire pit in an open area adjacent to cozy. The river view is spectacular from the river side of the property. Sites on the other side of the road do not have a direct view of the river. Wildlife - bald eagles, river otters, deer, etc. are abundant. We had a cool dip in the deeper part of the river. The path to the river requires one to be somewhat nimble and sure-footed. Looking forward to a return visit.

An absolute gem! We stayed at the Rivers Edge site and it did not disappoint. We saw bald eagles, river otters and the fish were biting! Mary was super responsive and accommodating. We ended up staying the one rainy weekend of June, but the large tree at the site kept us mostly dry. Speaking for the motorcycle campers: The site was level and parking was right at the site. Easy access in and out.

tons of space for tents. River is lovely, we floated down a bit and next time I think we’ll float down from the covered bridge. Host lives on-site. Firewood is a great deal. Fun rope swing and saw lots of fish in the water just downstream from the beach. Lovely spot and super fun with kids.

Me and my five-year-old son had an incredible stay for two days, the hosts are very welcoming and kind. Site is clean well kept there is very easy access to the river and we woke up to bald eagles fishing in stream next to us in the morning! Absolutely incredible.

Loved the site! It's a great location for some solitude. Beautiful views, excellent fishing if you like that, nice flat spot for tents and a fire. Mary was responsive and helpful in every way. Here's some things everyone considering this amazing spot should know: The river is the highlight here, and access to it is not the easiest. To get riverside, there's a short trail on muddy (even in summer) terrain with decent elevation changes. You'll need good shoes and the ability to handle slippery ground. I fell twice and my wife once and we're both pretty fit and used to trails. The porta-potty was immaculate. Clean, serviced, etc. There's no access to clean water or power, pack accordingly. I forgot my water jug and Mary kindly helped but the nearest store is miles away. Thanks again Mary! You're on the road in most of the spots, which can be a little scary at night when big trucks or farm equipment comes down the road anf you're in your tent. Not much traffic on that road, but it's noticeable when it comes thru. There are so many fish! At about 3-something AM, they started jumping and splashing not far from our tent. I loved it! But my wife couldn't get back to sleep because it sounds like rocks being thrown into the water. I've never seen such an active fishing hole! This spot was perfect for me, but it wouldn't be for people who need more amenities or easier river access. Hope this helps for campers looking for the perfect spot!

This was such a peaceful campsite. I was the only one there and spent the evening watching two bald eagles fish in the river. It was super easy to find and Mary was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

We had such a peaceful and memorable stay here. The host was beyond kind and accommodating—truly made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The riverfront view was absolutely beautiful, and the walk down to the water felt like something out of a storybook. We spent our evenings by the fire, listening to the frogs and all the nighttime nature sounds—it was honestly magical. The stars at night were unreal, and the whole place just had this quiet, calming energy that was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.

This was the best camping trip I’ve had in a while. We had a little nook and a front row seat to the river. Firepit was great, they had extra wood on site. Small uphill walk to the cleanest porta potty I’ve ever seen yall!! One potential downfall is this particular site is right at the mouth of the path to the river so you’ll be saying hello to passing neighbors, but I didn’t mind at all. Hardly any bugs which was crazy to me. If u go to the Irish pub ask for prices cause it’s unsuspectingly expensive. General store 15min down the road is also the best ever. We didn’t swim cause it wasn’t warm enough but lots of paddle boarders. This spot is great for two people, kids would be risky as the drop off to the river is steep. Thanks Mary! We’ll be back :)

Yurt Amazing by the river.
Our group enjoyed the soulful nature views and exploration of the waterway on our SUPs. We saw a river otter, nutria, bald eagles, hawks, kingfishers, a frog, trout, snakes, and more! The quiet site was as expected in the hipcamp listing. We stayed in a clean, shaded, yurt-shaped tent. There were some nice asthetic touches like solar lighting. The portable toilet was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced. Our host, Mary, was responsive and graciously gave us an opportunity to cancel when other campers signed up on her site nearby. I’m glad we did not!

Yurt Amazing by the river.
I really enjoyed my stay,I had a 3 day job near Mary's property and rented the tent/yurt rather than a local motel.For my stay it was quiet(only one other camper) The yurt was spacious and clean,I cooked outside on a provided table.Across the road was the river and fire pits.Was nice setting there listening to the river,birds,frogs etc. and reading The county road was not a noise issue at all.Good trail to a gravel beach.My only regret was not bringing my flyrod.You could see the fish!Mary was very accommodating and booking easy.I definitely will stay again.

Just what we needed!

This property was absolutley amazing, most of the time it was just us. Coming back to see some of the reviews is a bit surprising. Campsites are on 1 side of the road. You have the blue (not abandoned, just getting work) house on the hill with the Port-a-Potty. We brought our own portable toilet and used the Port-a-Potty when needed. The yard below has the Yurt on one side and campsites on the other of the driveway. They are about a motorhome length apart, I don't think I'd take an RV there but it would fit. We brought our own small table so we could cook near our tent. Across the road is the common area with the firepits and the picnic tables. Though being a common-area you can see which table/firepit are designated for the camp sites. There is one singular campsite on the river side, inside a cute little cove for small tent camping only, and the only spot available for a vehicle to park just outside the cove. The Cozy for 2 (campsite by the river) is next to the walking trail near the river so just be aware of that. As with any place you have to be mindful of where you walk, there are dropoffs and softspots "See hay, stay away". There is a country road but minimal traffic and sometimes farm equipment, not a biggie. Just pay attention to your animals and children. The river is beautiful! Be mindful of the trail down but wonderful place to swim, set your chair down riverside and enjoy. Really enjoyed a much needed vacation and reading lots of books with the river view!

Good basic camp site next to a river. There were some ducks noisily playing in the water during the night but that was fine. Beautiful area. Mary was very on top of messages and sent a lot of good extra information.
