Tenino, the area we are in is where the First Nations People used as the Gathering Grounds. The Europeans when they came with their railroad chose to continue that tradition. Tenino is ground zero for the measurement of where one is on the railroad. We fell in love with our farm with its much untouched acres to create a place where people can gather and reconnect with life's natural beauty. We are certified organic, Salmon Safe certified, and pesticide free. Dragons' Gate Gardens is home to many giant crystals and here their beauty works delightfully with the land. The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres to explore. The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can enjoy a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests. There is a giant crystal housed in a gazebo that overlooks the surrounding fields and woods. Time to meditate with the giant crystal in the gazebo can be booked with Kathleen for a fee of $55. We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. Jessie's camp is set in the middle of the hundred back acres. It provides a lovely camping experience in a surround of trees.  Named after my daughter because it is a favorite of the my grownup children to camp here.  The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres to explore.  The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can explore a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests. We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics.  Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions which many are edible and healing plants.  We encourage converting from lawns to meadow lands being supportive of wild birds and insects. Jessie's camp site 4 is one of the largest sites. It can accommodate the larger RVs or a larger group. It's fire ring is larger as well making it great for the group to sit around in the evening. Jessie's camp is set in the middle of the hundred back acres. It provides a lovely camping experience in a surround of trees.  Named after my daughter because it is a favorite of the my grownup children to camp here.  The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Pitch your tent in the privacy of this quiet wilderness where the elk and the coyote play. This is a wildlife Sanctuary where we do not allow hunting. The wild animals here are so used to our presence that they often go about their daily life with little concern for us. We are treated to deer and elk wandering through the camping area. Get up quietly and you never know who you might see in camp. Each camp site has its own stone circle firepit, with the exception of Site #5 and #6 which have a steel firepit.  The camp is a mile from the front residential area. I throughly enjoyed car camping on the land at Dragon’s Gate Gardens. If you can imagine a large meadow of wildflowers, many stands of trees, a big open sky, 120 acres of land, and no annoying internet to interrupt it all, then you’ll get the idea of what it’s like there. Been twice, and have another trip planned.

Site 1 - Jessie's Camp at Dragons Gate
This was my second time camping here. It was as lovely as the first. It's removed enough to have no cell service, but they do provide a space with WiFi should a visitor require it. City noise is entirely absent, leaving the sounds of nature in the spotlight. There is a distinct lack of light pollution as well, which makes it perfect for stargazing. The land itself is healthy, well tended, and deliberately left wild for the birds, bees, and beasts. Wildflowers are everywhere to encourage pollinators. Camp sites (good for both tent and RV) are dispersed, which lends a greater sense of seclusion regardless of which site you choose. We stayed at site 1, which is less than a minute's walk from a well kept outhouse, and a similar distance to two separate potable water sources. The hosts themselves are wonderful! They're friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Good energy, with a playful undercurrent. They clearly care about the land they steward. More than worth a visit. We'll be coming back for round three sooner than later.

There was a “hip camp” sign propped up on the building across the street from the actual office so I knocked there first (no answer) so I started off confused. I had arrived about 20 minutes late and spent more time wandering around looking for signage before circling back to the building on the left and seeing the small “office”sign on the door. The office was closed. There is no cell signal, but thankfully there was a small note on the window with the WiFi password. I was tired and not firing on all cylinders so it took me too long to notice the note. I knocked, no answer. Then I called, no answer. I wandered around some more before I heard a man talking to a cat inside so I called out ‘hello’ and we got me sorted. All this to say, it would be helpful to first timers to have more prominent and visible signage and instructions posted for late arrivals on site. Otherwise, I had a very quiet and peaceful stay with the place to myself and dog.

This land is a beautiful respite from the day to day. The campsites are private and well-spaced, but still close to fresh aquifer water and a cute outhouse. The hosts are welcoming, helpful, and generous with their time, showing you all you'll need and sharing insights about the flora and fauna. Explore the trails mown through acres of forest and meadow, birds, insects, and wildlife in all directions. No cell service offers a chance for a true deep breath. A short drive from the peaceful skookumchuck river- fun swimming for the cold-hardy, or wading for the rest of us. We've been here 2 summers and counting, and can't wait for our next trip back.

We had such a wonderful stay! The campsite was peaceful, well maintained, and felt like the perfect place to relax and disconnect. The property is beautiful, and it was obvious that a lot of care has gone into creating such a welcoming space. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and made everything easy from arrival to departure. We especially enjoyed exploring through all the wildflowers! They were everywhere and they were absolutely stunning and made our stay feel even more special. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, I would definitely recommend staying here. We’d happily come back again!

The host was very helpful and attentive in picking a good site for our group, then just made us the girls feel very welcomed, complete with some bunny snuggle time. Our site was clean and they even brought in a second picnic table for us. I would bring my troop here again.

We loved dragons gate for the spatial experience in which we resided in. The land was absolutely stunning and what made the whole experience ever better were the hosts. They were available if we were to need anything and were very hospitable. Truly couldn’t have felt more taken care of in such an amazing setting! We loved walking the around the land in the afternoon and seeing the wildlife and stunning views. If you are looking for an immersive experience, we would very much would recommend staying here.

The land is 126.5 acres of quiet bliss. None of our noisy WiFi/5G distractions. Just peace and quiet. The ground is relatively flat, making tent and car camping easier, and our site had a fire pit like many of them do. There is a charming outhouse with nighttime twinkle lights, and for garbage, you pack out every last thread and bottle cap of what you brought in. Children and adults (me!) love to watch the friendly cows near the entrance, then you will be guided to your site by one of the two caretakers, who later gifted us some of these unusual and delicious round cucumbers from their garden. Soo good. How kind of them. DGG is a unique place to find your space, and it’s also the perfect setup for large gatherings of hundreds of people.

We had such a lovely time camping at Kathleen’s property. The sites are large and surrounded by trees and nature. We had a large sit that was big enough for 3 adults and 8 kids and still extra room for more tents. It was so nice to be able to have a campfire with all the kids and Red Dragon supplied large buckets of firewood for $20 a bin that we made excellent use of. We also enjoyed the river spot nearby that was recommended. We’d love to return for another visit next year.

Our whole group enjoyed our stay at Kathleen’s place! Check-in process was smooth and they were available for questions as needed. They even had treats for our doggo! The property is huge and beautiful. I would note you have to leave property entirely to access the river on the paved road, I would not recommend walking. It would have been nice for the outhouse to be better maintained - better smell control and nighttime lighting would have been appreciated. Overall would stay again :)

We loved our long weekend away, in nature, no cell reception. We were told site 4 is a favorite of everyone's, and we can see why! Wonderful views. We were greeted right away and informed of the rules. I do wish the pool was open, but it has been closed since 2020. The yellow jackets can be bothersome. We ate our smoked salmon in the car. But that was just a small annoyance. Would absolutely stay here again!! Our 3 doggos and baby enjoyed it immensely as well :)

We really loved camping here! It's our second time here and the only thing I regret that we didn't discover this place earlier. Fairy Queen and Red Dragon are amazing people! They were so kind to show us around their property and let my daughter to play with their bunnies and see baby cow :) They also offered us some veggies from their garden, it was really sweet and nice gesture! My daughter loves both Fairy Queen and Red Dragon so much and she gets really upset when we have to go home. The campsite itself is very well maintained and kind of secluded which gives you privacy and opportunity to enjoy the nature without other people around. You can purchase a huge bin of wood for just $20 which is amazing deal! No doubts it's our favorite campground and we can't wait to come back here! We love it! Thank you Fairy Queen and Red Dragon for such an amazing weekend! 💞

A truly wonderful place to camp. Owners are gracious, welcoming, and have everything ready for your arrival. We (2 adults, 5 yr old and 2 yr old) picked blackberries, had a campfire, swam in the river, explored walking trails, biked on farm roads, and pet bunnies. We can't wait to come back and highly recommend the site. Their land is huge and there are more or less private sites, depending on if you want to talk to your camp neighbors.

This is our second time here! I love the beautiful open land and the kind hearted hosts here. Our group enjoyed camping, looking at the stars, and even learned some new tricks on starting a fire even in the drizzle! It was nice to have complete unplug from everything, and still be able to go back online or drive into town if we want. We enjoyed walking around and exploring with my dog and will definitely be back again.

Great peaceful place to camp that is close to Seattle but feels far away. We came midweek and had the whole place to ourselves. Kathleen was super friendly and accommodating and we appreciated the cleanliness of the outhouse and easy access to delicious spring water. We explored nearby rivers and Mima Mounds. Site 1 - Moon Meadow at Dragons Gate
This was our first hipcamp experience and it was great! We were given a friendly welcome and a full rundown of where everything was once we arrived. You could tell how much love and care was put into their land and I really appreciated it. It was setup similar to a campground and the sites were large. We were aware of our neighbors but never felt like we didn't have enough privacy and on the other end of things our friends reserved another spot across from ours and it was easy to go and back and forth between camps. It was very kid friendly and the fire pit and picnic table were appreciated. We had plenty of shade for the extreme heat and really enjoyed the short ride (less than 10 minutes) to the river. When I had booked the camping site I thought for some reason each site would have our own outhouse but it was just one for all campers. Not a huge deal just something to keep in mind. If I were to give any constructive criticism it would be to make the outhouse slightly larger as it is a bit of a tight squeeze especially when kids needed support inside. I wouldn't hesitate to book again based on this. All things considered it fulfilled all of our needs and our group enjoyed ourselves immensely.
