A FULL FIRE BAN is now in effect, as of Aug. 4, 2026. Propane devices that have and On/Off control only.... no briquettes. WELCOME to Cowlitz River Rentals! We offer some of the most beautiful scenery in western Washington. Here you will find the peaceful quiet of being "away from it all", yet in reality you are only a little over a mile from the local grocery store, restaurants, and gas stations along Hwy 12 in Randle. We have 20 spacious sites on 70 acres, bordered by the Cowlitz River in Randle, WA. We are centrally located between Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams. Since we are not open for public entry, you can feel safe leaving your camp set up while you take day excursions. We have dry camping ONLY. There is a spigot for water at the gate, but no water or electricity hookups at any of the sites. This year (2026) we are expanding almost all of the sites while doing our best to keep privacy intact. This will allow for a wider variation of vehicle types, as well as more room for kiddos to play within the site itself. We welcome individual campers as well as groups. Many of our sites will hold 20-30 people, all in one site area. We can also accommodate much larger groups.... Let us know if you have a special group event. 09 - Hammock Heaven

It is full shade with very little grass in the hollow, but plenty of grass on the upper part, which is in full sun. While some have pulled or backed their trailers down in, this site is best for tenters. However, there is room on the upper portion, for large trailers and motorhomes. There is a private trail to The Fort Beach when the water is lower. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. There is no view of the water from the site, but South Beach access is only a few feet away. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site is full shade all day. This site is being expanded for 2026 to make room for easy RV access. There is also room on the outskirts for a trailer or motorhome. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. A smaller camp trailer can be backed in as well. There is parking for extra vehicles on the fringes. This site is right on the river bank with a view of the "eagle tree" and Mt. Adams. It has a trail to the riverbar when the water is lower. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. It is full shade, and has no grass at this time. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. There is one beautiful Maple tree for shade, with a huge expanse of grass and sun all around. It sits directly on the edge of the river [xxxxxxxx] is a steep trail for some private river space when the water is low. Beach access is just a short walk. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site is more visible than other sites, but is still very private compared to typical campgrounds. It will easily accommodate any size vehicle. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. There is access to The Fort Beach at the downstream end. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site has a mixture of shade and sun depending on the time of day. Grass is planted in the site, and some is growing nicely. Smaller vehicles and tents are recommended at this time, however larger vehicles have lots of room on the fringe of the site, in full sun. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. This is a large, serene area, with great beach access and gentle water, regardless of river level. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach. There is NO shade here. Tenters and vehicles with awnings should be prepared for strong afternoon winds from the southwest. All size vehicles can fit easily at this site. Do not drive onto the beach without 4wd or all-wd. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. It is screened by trees on the backside and is very private. It has a mixture of grass and dirt, with the option for full shade or full sun. You must walk or drive a short distance for river access. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site is a great spot for those with reactive dogs, as it is tucked back away from the majority of camper and river activity. It is also a great site for a basecamp for day adventures, as it is fairly close to the camp area exit. This site can accommodate all size vehicles. The combination of Mountain View, Maple Grove, and Hawk Haven would be ideal for a very large gathering such as a family reunion. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. It is back off the beach a bit to protect it from the afternoon wind, and is shielded from the main paths by surrounding trees and foliage. Big Beach and Sandy Beach are just a short distance. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site has a mixture of sun and shade depending on the time of day. It is a newly expanded site, and grass has been planted, but right now it is mainly dirt. The pics do not show the new expansion yet. All size vehicles can fit here, however, be aware that it is a long, slow journey in for big rigs. This site can be requested for a group larger than 30. It is full, deep shade all day, which also means no grass. It is a short walk to either beach, and is a great place to be at the end of your float. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. This site is fairly secluded and private, but seems to allow sound to travel rather easily at night. If your group tends to be a bit boisterous, you may want to choose a different site. Larger motorhomes and longer trailers may have some issue with getting into the site due to some tighter turns. It is also a long, slow journey in for larger vehicles.

It completely surrounded by trees and foliage, making it quite private. It is back off the riverbank a bit, with no view of the water, but beach access is a few yards in either direction. n the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or [xxxxxxxx] deep, deep shade makes this site the absolute coolest during hot weather. It is also pretty good at rain protection too. Due to the shade, the floor is mostly dirt. This site can accommodate any size vehicle. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. 01 - North Bank

01- NORTH BANK For more details of all 20 sites, please see our webpage: [xxxxxxxx] North Bank is set far apart from the other sites. It is the farthest upstream on the river and has immense privacy. It sits right on the river, but has a steep bank. There is access for floating a short distance away, but no real beach. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. There is a huge grassy area on the upper section, and deep shade on the lower section. Any size vehicle will fit on the upper section. Smaller camp vehicles and tents are recommended for the lower section. There is plenty of room to spread out, with extra room on the fringe for more vehicles. This site can be requested for a group larger than 30. While it is the closest to the highway, it is tucked into a hollow that allows optimal privacy. See the photo of our site map for location. This will allow for pull-through access, and a more private camping experience. This site is mostly shaded until late afternoon. It does not have a view of the river, but is conveniently located on one of the "float the loop" paths. Campers in these sites are welcome to use any of the beaches. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. There is a connecting path to Wolf Den for those wanting to book both sites for a larger group. Larger motorhomes and trailers will not fit easily into this site. They can park near the entrance to the site, which has grass and full sun. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. I cannot get this to change in the settings for this site. You are welcome to come to the property early, and stay on the property until early evening to enjoy the river....there are plenty of places to park before you check-in or after you check-out. There have been a Class A motorhome and some large 5th wheel trailers in here, but you should be confident in your maneuvering skills before attempting something very large. Check in is 2pm. 02 - Mountain View

Adams. There is a good mixture of sun and shade. In the later summer, a private beach becomes exposed just below the site, with a somewhat steep trail going down to it. There are multiple spaces to set your tent right on the riverbank, or other spaces back a bit further from the edge. It is very shaded with trickles of sun during the day. It borders a large grassy area that is shared with Berry Patch. This site seems to dry out last, so reservations for May might need to be adjusted to a different area depending on weather. Larger vehicles can park on the grassy area on the fringe of the site. Beach access is available directly from the site when the water is low. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which can be reached by walking or driving. Check in is 2pm. Check out is 1:30pm. so i originally booked the hidden glen spot, which was described as private and secluded and right on the river… i got a message shortly after saying that it had been double booked.. they booked on multiple sites so no problem. since i had already paid they assured me they would have another spot comparable to the one i had booked. upon arrival to the new campsite.. it was far from private/secluded there were few trees and people walking everywhere from the river and to get to the porta potties. we told her that wasn’t as described and asked if they had anything else. we were shown to a few different spots that were “overflow” and not even ready to be booked. we asked for a refund and left. she stated that hipcamp keeps a portion of it but she would venmo me the rest. i did get the refund through hipcamp but after sending my venmo info, i never got the rest 😅 when people are you spend over well 200 dollars to camp for 2 nights. maybe have the listings as described. my suggestion

had a lovely time at hammock heaven site. great to have our own access to the river for playing and launching boats. portapotties were clean & serviced regularly. owner very responsive and friendly. could see some other campers here & there, but by & large it felt very spacious and quiet. close to many hiking & other areas. super close to randle for odds & ends. would happily stay there again

11- Cowlitz Ledge
Beautiful land! Host was great and very accommodating, as we got rained out our first night and had a leak in our tent.. she let us borrow an extra tent and canopy and that saved us massively. Other than some pesky neighbors next to us complaining over nothing, our trip was absolutely perfect. We’ll be back next year with more family.

11- Cowlitz Ledge
What a wonderful find! Cowlitz River Rentals is a huge, beautiful property nestled right along the Cowlitz River, with plenty of spacious dry camping spots that give you room to relax and truly enjoy the outdoors. There are many very well maintained porta-potties on the property, a big plus. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting and visiting with Hazelanna, the camp host. Her warmth and genuine hospitality made our stay feel especially welcoming and memorable. This is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy nature’s beauty. You can tube around the river loop, let the dogs run and explore off leash, give the kids plenty of space to play, and even pick some delicious blackberries right on the property. Hazelanna, thank you for sharing your amazing oasis with us! We had such a great time and will definitely be back. We’re already spreading the word to our camping-fishing-nature loving friends and family for a trip here together next year. ❤️🏕️🌲

Love camping at Cowlitz River rentals and will spend my birthday there again. Will reserve a different site because of the fine dust that there was no way to get away from. It got into everything. Loved the shade and closeness to beach. Just can't do that dust again.

15 - Hidden Glen
We camped at Hidden Glenn the second week of August 2026, and we had a great time! The weather was perfect, and the campsite was clean, spacious, and the perfect size for our group. We had 3 tents and 3 vehicles, and there was still plenty of room. We also floated the river four times during our stay! The first time, we drove up to the bridge by Fisher’s Grocery Store to put in. The other three times, we were able to get in right from the North Bend campsite area—and we didn’t even have to leave the property! Having river access right there was such a bonus and made floating so easy and convenient. One thing that really impressed us was how clean the porta-potties were! They are cleaned and dumped weekly, and it definitely shows. They also have a dumpster where you can dispose of your garbage for $10 a bag, which was absolutely worth the money and made cleanup so much easier. And I have to mention the camp host! She is absolutely wonderful. She is always available if you have an issue, need assistance, or have a question, and she goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great stay. She really adds to the whole camping experience! We had a great time and couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience. We will definitely be back next year!

17- Berry Patch
This property was gorgeous! I don’t think there was a bad campsite at all. Sites were very spacious and far apart and the grounds were labeled well. Clean porta potties everywhere! Many sites were very close to the river beaches which were very dog and kid friendly! Lots of fun sand areas to play in. Hazelanna was an amazing host and very communicative. Beautiful area to enjoy nature.

12 - Horseshoe Bend
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back here in the future! There are just a couple of things that would have been nice to know in advance. We stayed at Horseshoe Bend which is the closest site to Big Beach. The site itself (and looked like virtually all others on the property that we passed by) were INCREDIBLY dusty. The sites have a very fine dirt that easily gets picked up by the wind, so it felt like a constant battle to keep food covered while cooking and to minimize dirt in our sleeping areas, as well as trying to shield our eyes to reduce the amount of dirt that they collected. The other challenge was that while there wasn’t a lot of grass at the site, the greenery that was there were very pokey weeds and blackberry starts. Our kiddo is old enough that we were able to instruct her to avoid those, and the dogs seemed to be just fine - but I could see this being an issue camping with younger kids. Pros: The host met us on arrival, asked if we needed any water, & gave some tips for floating the river. She seemed very kind and said to reach out if we needed anything at all. Another bonus is that there were ample porta potty’s throughout the property that were clean and well maintained. The sites all seem to be pretty well spaced out, and we hardly heard other campers during our stay, aside from a group of kids playing in a grassy area on our first night (within a reasonable volume / time of day!) This would be a great property to come camp at with a large group.

11- Cowlitz Ledge
We loved RVing at Cowlitz River on 'Cowlitz Ledge. Hazelanna was a gracious host; we found her to be welcoming, generous and quick to respond to my messages. Her property is surrounded by beautiful views in every direction. The land is flood area so be prepared to get dirty; HOWEVER, the dirt is just a little inconvenience for everything else you get to experience here. There are some really awesome trees. Mountains all around. Lots of paths to the river's edge and beaches making it easy to just sit by the river while watching it go by, or even better yet, taking the slow scenic float down it. We also enjoyed just sitting by the campsite listening the river and watching the wildlife. There were other campers nearby, but we never heard anyone after dark. It felt very private there and we hope to make it back next summer! Thank you so much Hazelanna for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful place with us... It was a pleasure meeting you!

Our family group camped at Bigfoot Den. It was very shady and despite trees within the space we accommodated 3 tents, a 30 foot trailer, a large central area and could have had at least 3 more tents in there. Floating the river was fun and EVERYONE commented that the portapotties were the cleanest we'd ever seen! It is August so the ground in the campsite was a fine, powdery dust so be prepared but, hey, it is camping and absolutely wonderful for groups. Hazelanna is very responsive and helpful.

It's a beautiful property. Wolf Den campsite was huge and private. The portapotty was convenient and incredibly clean. We were also happy to see there is a little trash can in the portapotty for the ladies for that time of the month. The river is so beautiful and we had a great time tubing down it. I definitely recommend this campsite.

The Riverside site is covered in very fine dirt that spreads everywhere. The dirt was so hot in the sun that our dogs' paws were burning, making it impossible to stay by the river. Additionally, one of our dogs fell 25 feet off a cliff into the river right near the campsite. I wouldn't recommend the Riverside site for families with small children due to the cliff hazard.

Small family camping trip, and this was the perfect spot. A very short walk to the river, clean grounds, plenty of space between camp sites, you didn’t feel like anyone was around. Also loved that there were port-a-potties tactfully scattered everywhere. We will be back!
