Welcome and Hello! We'll be OPENING the FIRST WEEKEND of MAY!! There's the after every winter campground road cleanup/maintenance. Our guests can enjoy being laid back, play music, stay up late, have a couple cocktails/beers and just let the air out of tires, so to speak...Our campground is perfect (we think!) for large groups of people that want a beautiful space for an event, like receptions, family or school reunions, work/corporate campouts, Church events, etc. where you can book the whole campground for yourselves. Or, there are three individual sites you can choose from and book separately on our campground. Two are by the river with wide open view of the river. The third has two entrances, big space, and secluded under a couple of big maple and various other trees without view of the Sauk but has a short and easy path to the river. Drive a little further and you'll find an open area site that also has two entrances. It has a nice wide view of the river with access to the river. It also has an established campfire pit there. The first campsite (the first campsite is the furthest one down) is very secluded as well. Driveway drops down to this site and delivers ample room for a few cars and tents, or rv's. (More on RV's in this listing).. The view of the river is beautiful there and the site features two separate coves on the river. There's a camp trailer down there as well...nothing fancy but we occasionally use it. The electrical needs hooked up and the bathroom hooked up in it. But if you're sick of the rain in your tent and want to get out of the rain, it's there. All three sites are very different from each other. We and the property were introduced to HipCamp last year by another HipCamper. and it's a diamond in the rough. Once you go past our shop and the industrial mechanical views and continue down the driveway it turns into a whole different scene. You'd never know that you're within city limits. Just out in the wild. We're still working on the property to maximize the property's potential. We love this property for its closeness to nature and beautiful scenery! There's lots of diversity in plants, neat rocks all over the place! It's a relaxing getaway and yet close to town and its amenities, including North Mountain Bike Park..

Site 1 Right by the Sauk River has the driveway that drops down from the campground and delivers you to a secluded vista like view of the Sauk River and Gold Mountain (locals call it Gold Hill) across the river. Plus it has two separate little coves that drop down from your camp where you can disappear and enjoy the serenity. It has a campfire spot and plenty of room for a few tents and parking, enough for 6 to 15 people and probably 3 or 4 cars in your group ( depending on the sizes of your vehicles) without feeling cramped. There is a camp trailer there that is nothing special but we, the owners do use it occasionally when we're not booked ( during the week mostly, we're retired). There's no toilet facility on the site but the campground will have one nearby. Our campground is a fun work in process. This site seems to be the first choice but the others are equally unique!

Beautiful panorama view of the Sauk River and Gold Mountain, (but the locals here call it Gold Hill ). This site has a more open approach but still maintains ample privacy. Iit has two entrances or exits as it's a half circle to pull in/out of the site. There's a flusing toilet in the outhouse that is tucked under trees, and potable water accessessable from a fawcet. The water and outhouse is shared with site 1. This site is large an accommodating with an interesting monolithic boulder to take a look at and most say it has a ton of sparkle to it..it's a really cool piece of rock. and theres access to the river at the little boat ramp between this site and site 1. this is also shared between the two sites. There is also the remnants of our large, old gazeebo made of bige metal pipes. But we're hoping to get that rebuilt, 9it fell down about three years ago...long story but intersting!!

My friend group loved camping here! The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. The campground was spacious, clean, and perfect for a big group. The view was extraordinarily beautiful, the rushing water and gorgeous trees surrounded our campsite and offered nice privacy. A fully working bathroom was a bonus! Fresh well water through a hose was quite handy too. Plenty of firewood was provided as well. All my friends highly enjoyed being here and said they would return! Thank you again for having us ☺️

It was so easy to enjoy a weekend with a tent here. The view is 10/10. It is tricky to navigate the land as there is a lack of signage so you’ll probably get lost a few times. It was an adventure! Property owners were kind and helpful. Bringing wood and picking up our trash so we didn’t have to haul it out. The land is very not developed. The toilet situation is tricky. But they’re working on it. The location is so prime it’s worth it. Waking up feet from the river was so… serene. Star gazing was prime. It was a great little get away.

Staying at Buster’s on the Sauk was an absolute highlight and exactly the kind of getaway I needed. The camping spot right on the river was incredible—private, peaceful, and with the perfect mix of comfort and rustic charm. Buster himself went above and beyond as a host. One evening he even stopped by to share a drink and swap stories, which gave the stay a personal, welcoming touch you don’t get everywhere. His little dog was so freaking cute, always trotting around camp and adding to the homey feel. I also have to mention his truck and motorcycle—both were seriously dope and just added to the vibe of the place. Late one night, Buster brought over tiki torches for us, which not only gave off a warm glow but also helped keep the bugs away so we could stay out by the river longer. It’s the kind of thoughtful detail that makes you realize he genuinely cares about his guests’ experience. Every part of the stay felt intentional and inviting, from the river access to the atmosphere he’s created at his property.I highly recommend staying at Buster’s on the Sauk to anyone who wants an escape that feels far away but is really just about an hour and a half from Seattle. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and authentic hospitality. I left already planning my third trip back.

Buster’s land was perfect for our short camping trip. Site 1 right on the river was beautiful and lots of space for multiple tents and cars and gazebos. Love that we could bring our dog too. Buster is a badass and was welcoming and a great host. We will be back for a longer trip next year!

Overall we had a great experience at this site, but I do want to share that they had a small dog roaming around the site throughout our stay that had fleas. If you are planning to bring a dog please keep this in mind- we had pets off leash and didn’t realize the dog had fleas until about halfway through our trip… also the road to the site got excavated during our first night there. It made us very uneasy to try to drive into town and realize the main road was now unable to be used. We figured out a side path to take and the owner did stop by to check in about the road change which was appreciated.

This was a great spot. It’s right next to the river and it’s big enough to accommodate a 5-6 cars. The river was picturesque. It’s far enough from the other campsite so that you can enjoy your own area. Will definitely be coming back

It ended up being just my dog and I. I felt super safe on this property. And the view of the river was amazing!! I was really surprised to see a flushing toilet out in the woods. Don’t go with hipcamps address. Type in the owners address on your maps page. His address is listed. I will definitely return to this place.

We had a wonderful time at this camp. Right by the Sauk river where you can kayak river raft fish and even float. The site was large enough for three tents and an RV three cars three dogs and five people. You could fit more. The campus is quite a character and we really enjoyed his stories. Although the property looks a bit scary getting there believe us. It was beautiful everywhere we looked. We definitely will book there again. Highly recommend this property if you just wanna relax and be five minutes from town. Can’t say anything bad. It was a wonderful experience. Thanks for a great five days.

The directions were a little confusing and the bathroom was nowhere to be found, but other than that it was a beautiful spot right on the river. We had plenty of privacy and plenty of space for three vehicles and 5 people. I would definitely recommend!

Not exactly what I was expecting but ok I guess? We started off with directions that took us about an hour out of our way(just across the river up a forest service rd) we pressed the get directions now button on hip camp but we should have just entered the address manually. The property is only a few mins outside of town. Google maps took us to the wrong point via the link on hipcamp. Once we figured out where to go we passed a number of appliances, cars,trailers,trucks, tables,abandoned items all the way down to the sites. The campsite numbers were a little hard to read but we figured it out. We booked camp site 1 which offers a "nothing fancy" trailer to escape the elements if you want. DO NOT PLAN ON USING this. We poked our heads in to find old pizza boxes,half drank Gatorade, amazon package wrappers, broken takle box and other garbage. This had not been cleaned in a very long time and is well used. Once we set up our tents and unpacked we were visited by the Camp host. Very very interesting guy with strong personal opinions about people and lifestyles. There is a Kiro news story about him being found alive back in 2019 after he got lost on a hike in the North Cascades. Buster(your host) survived on ants. If your curious about who will be stopping by your site to say hi you can watch his survival story by googling. The property itself has a lot of potential and I'm sure it will be nice in a few years and a few more honest reviews. Goodluck!

It was a very quiet and peaceful location right next to a river. My dog had a blast running around and going from the boat launch and back to our site. There was nobody else there the weekend we went but the site 1 and 2 are far apart I feel like each site is its own lil peaceful place. I look forward to going back and maybe bringing more family and friends.

We booked this campsite because the listing mentioned it has a flushing toilet, we are relatively new to camping and wanted to ensure our first few experiences are comfortable and to our liking. The toilet on site was in shambles and had a crack and looked like it hasn’t been used or cleaned for months. It was unusable when we booked this site with a huge crack and full of dirt and debris. We sent a message confirming the availability of flushing toilet with the host before our intended travel date and had been assured that there will be a flushable toilet available but that was not the case. If you want a hardcore camping experience and are okay to drive out of campsite for your toilet needs, the site by the river is beautiful and secluded but we were very disappointed with the toilet situation. The host came to greet us and mentioned that they are doing their best to get the toilet replaced but that never happened during our visit.

An awesome spot for camping! The river was so beautiful and perfect for swimming. The campsite was set up well with lots of space for larger groups. The clearing gets a ton of sunshine so be prepared to be hot in the summer and possibly bring a canopy for shade if you are sensitive to the sun! Having a real toilet and running water was a nice touch too
