Near North Cascades National Park
Within a 30-minute drive from the North Cascades National Park Wilderness Information Center.
Nestled along the banks of the Skagit River at the gateway to the North Cascades, our small riverside campground offers the feeling of a remote wilderness escape — without the strenuous work to get there. Surrounded by mountains, towering evergreens, a wildflower meadow, and river access, it’s a place to slow down and experience the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest in comfort. Our campground features four campsites spread throughout a densely wooded riverfront setting, creating a quiet, uncrowded experience with plenty of space to relax and connect with nature. Guests wake to birdsong, mountain views, and the sound of the Skagit River flowing nearby. Bald eagles, swallows, ospreys, owls, herons, and countless songbirds are commonly seen around the property, making this an especially rewarding place for birdwatchers, wildlife photographers, and nature lovers. Additionally, spawning salmon can be found right along the river bank late summer through fall. The campground is an ideal basecamp for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore the region. Spend your days hiking, fishing, kayaking, rafting, swimming, biking, or taking scenic drives through the North Cascades corridor, then return to camp for peaceful evenings under the stars. River access offers opportunities to cool off, relax by the water, or simply take in the incredible scenery. While the setting feels wild and secluded, guests still have access to thoughtful amenities including a bathroom with two private stalls and a hot outdoor shower — offering a more comfortable alternative to true backcountry camping while preserving the feeling of being immersed in nature. The entrance to the property is located directly off the North Cascades Scenic Highway, making the campground easy to find while still feeling worlds away. Each campsite includes dedicated parking at the top of the meadow, followed by a short walk along well-maintained trails past the bathroom and shower house down to the campsites and riverfront. Whether you're looking for a quiet weekend escape or a basecamp for your American Alps adventure, this campground is designed for people who love rivers, mountains, forests, wildlife, and the outdoors. *All photos in listings have been taken from the property itself.

Site 1

Booked 1 time
Tent site · Sleeps 4
Site 1 is our largest site and can easily accommodate 2-3 tents depending on size. It is surrounded by towering trees and dense vegetation with no shortage of moss and ferns. A massive and recently felled maple divides the site in two and features a walk-way cut through it's enormous diameter. This site will provide the experience of camping deep within an old-growth forest—without the strenuous hike. Site 1 has it's own trailhead that will be the first left as you enter the forest. There is an opening at the far side of the site that connects to Site 3's trail, but we ask all campers to stick to their dedicated trails. If Site 3 is occupied, it is possible you will see campers pass by along that trail. Driving in tent stakes should be a breeze as the ground is mainly comprised of sand and decomposing forest material. We do our best to rake, level, and keep the regrowth of vegetation at bay and assure the ground is primed for pitching a comfortable tent spot. Please let us know if you notice any missed roots, river rocks, or regrowth causing issues at your site. This site features a picnic table, fire ring, and cut log rounds to be used as seats or side tables (not firewood). On your way to your site you will pass by the communal restroom and a roofed, outdoor shower. A hand sink is located on the exterior of the outbuilding and can be used to refill water bottles or be used for cooking. The river is accessible for all guests if you continue on the main trail. Site 1 would be very comfortable for two couples with two tents or 2-3 individuals with their own tents. It's quite possible 4 individuals with their own small tents could fit in this space. The tents photographed in some of these images are a 3-person and 4-person tent for reference.

Site 2

Tent site · Sleeps 2
Site 2 is our most shaded site and can accommodate 1-2 tents depending on size. It is surrounded by towering trees and dense vegetation with no shortage of moss and ferns. The thick canopy above provides better shade from the summer sun compared to our other sites, but you'll still get beautiful dappled lighting though out the day when the sun is shining. This site offers the same old-growth forest vibe as Site 1 with several moss drenched cedars and big leaf maples nearby. Site 2 will be your first right once you enter the forest, the opposite of Site 3 trail head that shares the same sign. A large sand deposit cuts through the forest right there in front of a massive big leaf maple that looks like a giant sling shot. This will lead you back to the site that will be situated up to the left. A walking trail that heads into a small, Mount Baker National Forest property can also be accessed if you continue on the trail past the site. This site is likely most comfortable for two individuals with two small tents or a couple in medium sized tent.

Site 3

Tent site · Sleeps 2
Site 3 is our favorite. Kissing the river's edge, this small, sandy perch above the Skagit is perfect for a single tent for 1-2 people. The river proximity creates unobstructed, panoramic views of Lookout Mountain and makes for gorgeous early morning light when the sun ascends its peaks. Listen to the water flowing through a large, downed alder just off the bank and watch for an eagle, osprey, or herring looking for their next meal. From late summer through fall it's common to spot salmon spawning just upriver in shallow current—visible from your chair. Site 3 will be your second left after entering the forest, the opposite of Site 2 trail head that shares the same sign. A large sand deposit cuts through the forest right there in front of a massive big leaf maple that looks like a giant sling shot. Head down the path on the left, passing closely by Site 1, and then follow a sharp right bend that leads to your riverfront site. There is log and driftwood barrier at the entrance of the site that blocks off a trail that would lead to Site 4. There is another barrier there as well. This trail is for seasonal maintenance use only, so we ask campers respect the barrier and stay off any closed trails. Driving in tent stakes should be a breeze as the ground is mainly comprised of sand and decomposing forest material. We do our best to rake, level, and keep the regrowth of vegetation at bay and assure the ground is primed for pitching a comfortable tent spot. Let us know if you notice any missed roots, river rocks, or regrowth causing issues at your site. The blackberry bramble along the river near this site is incredibly resilient—and a nuisance. Please be mindful of the prickly vines along edges of this site. This site will be most comfortable for one to two individuals with a single tent.

Site 4

Tent site · Sleeps 4
Site 4 is our premium, riverfront spot. This sandy opening sits 6-8ft above the Skagit and can comfortably accommodate 2-3 tents. The river proximity creates unobstructed, panoramic views of Lookout Mountain and makes for gorgeous early morning light when the sun ascends its peaks. Watch for an eagle, osprey, or herring looking for their next meal while listening to soothing sound of the river flowing next to your camp. Site 4 is the final, and third left once you enter the main trail through the forest, and is marked with a sign. If you find yourself at the river access spot before your reach your site, you've missed your turn. There is a closed trail that would connect this site to Site 3, but we have blocked both ends with downed logs and driftwood as a temporary barrier. There is another that would be a shortcut back to the main trial. Please respect the barriers and do not use these trails as they are for utility and maintenance only. Please be mindful of the prickly vines along edges of this site, but feel free to consume as many blackberries as you'd like in August when they are ripe. This site would be comfortable for 2-4 individuals and 2-3 tents.
