Unfortunately, we had a family emergency and had to abruptly change our plans, so we weren't able to stay with the donkeys. Chandra and Jared were so kind and gracious and responsive to our texts. We hope to get there soon!

Friendly donkeys and creek walks
I loved camping at Chaos Ranch. There was never a dull moment. We visited the donkeys several times and walked about 10 miles just checking out the beautiful property. There are good spots for tent and hammock camping.

Officially added Chandra and Jared to my list of “Nicest People I Met While Driving Cross Country.” They we’re both super kind, communicative and informative. Their property is so beautiful and we loved camping there. Spending time with the girls (the donkeys) is a highlight of my life, not just this trip. As Jared will tell you, they’re like giant dogs. So sweet and magical. I would venture to Texas from California again just for this experience. We stayed for two nights and I wish we could’ve stayed for many more.

To start, the hosts are SO WONDERFUL. Very sweet and accommodating! We felt very much at home here. Beautiful sunrise and sunset, and sparkly stars! And the DONKEYS! <3 Such a fun and interactive experience!!! I can wait to stay again!

Chandra, Jared, the dogs and the donkeys are SPECTACULAR! We drove cross-country from NYC to San Diego, and can honestly say that our best memories were made at this Texan "paradise". Chandra and Jared are out of this world: Friendly, worldly, personal, loving, caring,... Not only did we feel welcome, we felt a deep genuine connection. We loved every minute of our stay, and can't express the joy/calmness we felt by interacting with the donkeys. We only had one night (we had a tight schedule), and were really sad to leave.... We invited the hosts to come to NYC, and hope to be back at the farm soon! Please don't hesitate to make a reservation - it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

The sight of 70+ donkeys coming up from the lower pasture was incredible and entertaining. Sunrise was spectacular. I enjoyed my short, one-night stay. I found the hosts to be genial, flexible and incredibly helpful. It's a beautiful place and I would definitely come again. Oh, and the gift of eggs were a welcome bonus.

This spot is a perfect getaway. The donkeys were awesome and the land is absolutely beautiful. Chandra and Jared were the best host I’ve experienced and were so inviting. I will absolutely be coming back when the temperature cools down.
