We really enjoyed our night by the bass pond. We watched the sunset and the moonrise reflecting on the pond. Our host was super friendly and helpful.

The host was very friendly and welcoming. The campsite was was clean and the view over the pond at sunset was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return on a future trip.

Our host was welcoming and fun to talk to. We loved hanging out by the bass pond. The sun sets right on the other side so the sunset colors were reflected in the pond. Same with the moonlight. Loved watching the fish jump. We enjoyed playing a round of their corn hole— I won! 😄

It was clean & quiet, with plenty of places to walk/explore.
Samantha and everyone were very friendly and helpful.
The horses were very friendly.
The sunsets over the water are gorgeous.
It’s a dark place, but I went on a full moon. It was beautiful.
Overall, a great place for a relaxing getaway..

Samantha is amazing! Such an excellent host. Our spot was incredible. You get to see and hear wildlife all around. We did the farm critter meet and greet. So much fun.

What a beautiful and peaceful spot! It’s a good distance away from the main highway so you can’t hear any traffic. The horses roaming the property came to visit me in the evening. They also sell farm eggs which I was excited to get.

If you are like me and love quiet peaceful privacy this is the place. Very nice and attentive hosts. Road a little bumpy but my truck and trailer made it just fine. Fell asleep to birds and woke up to birds. There are some benches and a picnic table, outhouse, and 2 120 outlets and something that I did not recognize (a 50 amp plug maybe).

Amazing! Host greeted us and made us feel welcome. They know the area very well and can make recommendations, but you don't need to leave the property. Great for a romantic weekend or to get kids nature access in a safe place. Tons of foliage and bird watching with fishing right there. Horses came up to us the first evening and when we were leaving. It's like they came to say hi and bye. All the horses were friendly and liked to be petted. We were there for a full moon, so the sky was outstanding. I highly recommend this place b/c the owners have done a great job making a camp experience, but with nice amenities like a port o potty. You can walk and walk and walk and keep seeing new things. Simply one of the best Hipcamp experiences we have had. Great for campers of all ages and intensity level.

Such an awesome stay, Samantha was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed. Grounds were clean and neat. Cleanest outhouse I’ve ever seen.
Kids had a blast, the horses came up to us and we’re super friendly. Had a cool little place the kids could play on tire hills, and farm playground, and of course fishing in the bass tank!
We will definitely be back. Thank you Samantha!!
Had pretty decent cell service on AT&T and Verizon (both iPhones) was able to stream music and FaceTime.

State parks can be hit or miss in terms of a quiet, peaceful relaxing day or night so we tend to avoid them more and more due to loud, obnoxious campers. Big Stars delivered as promised! Quiet, private and great stars! We'll be back!

We had a great time. So many lovely animals and it is a very open space with great views. The host were kind and friendly. Electricity is also provided via a regular outlet and an RV connection. The porta potty was clean and stocked. The water provided was more than enough. All around great experience.

What an cool little hidden gem. Had the whole pond to ourselves. Caught some good looking bass. The sunrises and sunsets at camp are amazaing but the skies at night are simply astonishing. Cant wait to go back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Big Star Farm. The RV site is right on the edge of a bass tank and there’s so many frogs and dragonflies. The area is super clean. There’s a few areas to sit around the fire ring, Jim brought us down a telescope (unfortunately it was too cloudy for us to use). They had water ready in case we needed it. The porta poty was clean and there’s a nice large tree for shade around the fire ring and bbq grill.
We signed up for the animal tour and even though it had rained the night before, Samantha and Jim did an impromptu tour and brought the animals to us!
Chip was the little sweet goat and there was a chicken baby and then Jim went and called the cows and they all came running in. We got to feed them by hand and it was so fun.
Highly recommend the stay. Samantha was wonderful with communication and even offered to make a reservation for us at Perini’s so we could try their burger.
Overall a wonderful experience and we will be back!

We had a very pleasant stay at Big Star Views. It was perfect. The place is beautiful, we were all alone, we had a restroom to ourselves and potable water. We had a super nice weather overnight cause there were some storms a few miles away and we got light showers and a beautiful breeze. Not bad for June camping in Texas. We were visited by cows and horses in the morning. If you like primitive camping this place is awesome.

Big Star Views at the Bass Tank
This is a beautiful campsite! Very quiet and peaceful. We have a fairly large fifth wheel and the road is a little narrow and rough going in. It would be ideal for a pop up, a smaller RV, or tent campers. I much prefer this sort of site to the usual crowded RV parks.

Big Star Views at the Bass Tank
Samantha and Jim where great hosts, met Jim at the entrance to the property and Jim showed us around. Campsite was nice and clean, well maintained. Our boys had a great time fishing. Both of our boys enjoyed the opportunity to pet the goats and feed the other farm animals.
We where fortunate to have a clear night no clouds and had a great view of the night sky for star gazing. After breakfast the horses came around to visit and get a drink of water, let us pet them before they went on their way.
Will definitely keep on the list to visit again.

A quiet and peaceful camping environment, surrounded by Mesquite trees. Intermittent visits by curious livestock added a nice touch. Jim and Samantha are gracious hosts.

Had RV trouble en route and didn’t arrive until after 9pm. Samantha’s husband was nice enough to meet us at the gate in the dark and escort us back to the campsite which we really appreciated after doing roadside RV repairs and an 8 hour road trip. Site was clean and well maintained and felt private. Our dogs are their fill of cow manure and the kids enjoyed running around the pond. Unfortunately we were there less than 12hrs because it was just a rest stop on our two day trek to NM, but despite being there so briefly we’d definitely come back and stay longer.

Very peaceful! Friendly hosts. Great communication. Google maps leads you right to it when you have the address. Host will meet you and drive you to your spot. We enjoyed the dark skies and stars for miles!

Awesome hidden place if you happen to by in central Texas traveling near Abilene. Very quiet except for the animals but that adds to the experience. Very limited to no signal so contact host before you get there just in case!

Catfish Tank Under the Stars
Samantha met us at the gate and led us to the campsite. Lots of flat space to pitch a tent, right on a sweet little pond, with scattered small trees. We heard coyotes, an owl, quail, ducks, and other birds. The campsite was completely private and peaceful.
