Artesian Park stands out as a unique campground steeped in rich history, offering visitors a blend of nostalgia and modern amenities. Established in the early 1900s, this park originally featured a swimming pool fed by a natural artesian water flow, complete with a captivating spin top attraction rumored to be buried beneath the pool's depths. Legend has it that the pool was drained every Sunday, cleaned on Mondays, and remained too cold for swimming until Thursday, drawing crowds who watched from bleachers set up outside. Among the park's charming features is a vintage merry-go-round, patented in 1921, which continues to delight visitors with its swinging and spinning motion. Families flock to this timeless attraction, creating cherished memories. The recreation hall, once one of the first dance halls in Washington County, has been transformed into a vibrant space for events and travel clubs. This historic venue has hosted performances by notable artists like Jerry Lee Lewis and Bob Wales, serving as a social hub that brought together Texas A&M students and UT girls. If only the walls could share their stories! In 1999, Wayne and Sheila Rollins acquired this property, which was already an established RV park. Since then, they have made numerous enhancements and added amenities to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests
