From the minute we arrived, Mark was there ready to show us around & help with anything we needed. He brought us firewood, home grown peppers & homemade pickled jalapeños. He had water for us there, as well as a fully stocked “market” where we bought chips, ice & popsicles. The spot was perfect for our group of 5. We had plenty of room, a picnic table & a fire pit. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone looking for a private camping experience close to the Smokies.

Carney Creek was a great time! The campsite was clean and well maintained. Our group enjoyed the views, and loved seeing all the farm animals. The snack shack was a great bonus, loved grabbing an ice cream after a hike!

Our extended stay at Wickard Farms was highly enjoyable. The site was clean and well maintained. The amenities were also very clean. The views were amazing. The camp host, Mark, was friendly and his hospitality was excellent. We would highly recommend this HipCamp site!

We loved our trip! Mark is friendly and really cares about his campers' experience. The site is awesome. There's so much space, there's sun and shade, and the creek is beautiful. The outhouse is also clean and the snack shack is super convenient and fun. We will definitely be back!!

We had an amazing stay at this camping spot! The location was peaceful, scenic, and perfectly maintained — ideal for relaxing and reconnecting with nature. The site was clean, well-organized, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

This site was perfect for group… not only was it private, but Mark was super proactive in preparing everything for our stay. It’s always nice to meet new and welcoming people, and it’s so clear Mark and his wife take pride in what they do. Be sure to visit the snack shack for farm fresh goods and super reasonably priced snacks of all kinds.
The property is so large and beautiful. The fact you can walk to swimming holes or just relax by the fire makes it ideal for all types of camping.

I loved camping on Marks' land. It was very peaceful and private with plenty of room to spread out even if our group size had been larger. The swim hole was beautiful and refreshing. The small creek running along the campsite was so peaceful to fall asleep too. Mark was an excellent host going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Be sure to check out his little "Snack Shack" as well he has great prices and keeps it well stocked with a variety of drinks, candy, ice, souvenirs, and farm fresh eggs (as available of course). I would highly recommend this site to anyone....if I could've stayed longer I would've.

Mark was an excellent host! So friendly, attentive, helpful, communicative, welcoming, and has some beautiful land. Huge clearing for campers and we had it all to ourselves. Swimming hole on the property was beautiful! Rained the whole time we were there basically but no flooding in the clearing and we were still able to have some fun and relax in the tent.

Carney Creek was amazing! The property has all of the space you could ask for, with multiple fire pits, a small creek (alongside which we decided to set up camp and got some of the best sleep we ever have on a camping trip), and access to two swimming holes on a larger stream. Mark was an incredible host and was very hospitable. He made sure we had plenty of firewood, water, and that the bathrooms were clean. Mark also has a small farm stand on his property (which is adjacent to the campsite). It was extremely convenient to grab things like ice or eggs (he even keeps a freezer stocked with ice cream).
We had a great time and would stay again if we find ourselves in the area!

This campsite was incredible! Beautiful land and plenty of space. The swimming hole was so fun and refreshing, the snack shack has the best prices around with farm fresh eggs, ice, and great snacks as a cherry on top. They’ve thought of everything to make this a great campsite. Mark and his wife are exceptional hosts. They invited us to their Fourth of July celebration, and Mark was more than willing to help us with whatever we needed. Genuine kindness and hospitality that made this trip all the better. Definitely recommend!!

My group and I absolutely loved staying at Mark and Angie’s property! It was incredibly clean, peaceful, and very private — honestly, it could easily accommodate up to 30 people. There’s plenty of space for parking and setting up tents, which made everything super convenient.
The amenities were great: an outdoor toilet, water provided for washing dishes, and Wi-Fi available just about 100 feet from the campsite. The directions they gave us were clear and very helpful, making it easy to find the place.
One of the highlights was having access to two private swimming spots on the property — a perfect way to cool off and enjoy nature. Mark also runs a small shop on-site where you can grab fresh eggs, ice, and snacks, and he even supplies firewood, which was a huge plus.
If you’re in the area and looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway in a quiet and private setting, this is the spot! Huge thanks to Mark and Angie for an amazing experience — we’ll definitely be back.

Bottom line up front: would we go back? In a heartbeat! This place was fantastic! We had 8 adults, 13 kids, 1 dog, 6 vehicles (Jeeps, Power Wagon, Toyotas, etc - all Offroad vehicles) with 3 Offroad trailers - and we still could have brought more. This sore had PLENTY of space. We were in the area because of some of the off road trails nearby (and if you are looking for the same, this place is ON Rocky Top Rd - one of the best rails in the area. Couldn’t have been better for setting up base camp and going to play on the trails during the day. The kids LOVED the river spot. They played in it for hours (bring tubes! Great tubing spot). Traffic was not overwhelming, but there was a few passing through here and there throughout the day. One group of side by side riders came through Friday evening but it was only around 7pm and that was about it for people going on the trails. Mark, the property owner, is the best! He truly wants to make sure you have a fantastic stay. If you need something, just ask. He is more than willing to help than you are to ask. He even has a road side stand set up with snacks, eggs, ice cream, ice, etc at INCREDIBLE prices (nice to see in a day where everything costs so much). Heads up - bring bug repellent. You’re staying in a field and there are all kinds of bugs. We pulled off over a dozen ticks. But, that’s part of camping. Just something to be aware of. But back to the first statement: would we go back? If I could, I’d pack my bags today to go back.

It was by far one of the best stays we have had. We had 5 over landing vehicles and a total of 23 people. Mark was an incredible host! Offering to help set up and making sure our stay was enjoyably. He made sure we knew where to take the kids tubing and fishing. And telling us about his little store for eggs, candy, drinks, ice cream and bagged ice. Mark is down to earth and he genuinely cares about his guests. The site was huge giving us more than enough room to spread out for tents and vehicles. Mark’s property is at the mouth of Rocky Top Rd which was extremely convenient to our off road trip. We will definitely be back! It was over all a great stay and the kids had a blast!! Thanks again Mark!

Mr. Marks camp site was super cool definitely will be going back lots of quiet free roam space to enjoy wish we would have stayed a week didn’t have enough time to explore everything… Mark was super gracious to us the whole time helping out with all our needs… For our fam it was a much needed communal get away to get grounded from our normal life’s would recommend to anyone one that is respectful to and embraces all of the qualities of solitude and nature and enjoys the ambiance of the Appalachia mountains thanks again Mr. Mark was a good weekend for us

Mark’s property was the perfect camping spot! He gave easy to follow directions. Mark met us at arrival and pointed out a level place for the camper with the babbling creek right beside us. He led us on a short walk to his “secret” swimming hole and told us about other hikes we could take to nearby waterfalls! We didn’t expect these fun adventures nor expected to make a new friend in Mark! He was the best host and had everything prepared for our stay with clean water for washing and drinking, a convenient and clean outhouse, a large garbage can, plenty of firewood, two fire rings, and a picnic table right next to the creek! And I must mention our kids’ favorite part was walking to Mark’s snack shack after their hike to buy a cold slushee ice pop!

Mark's camping spot is hands down the best place we've ever camped. He went above and beyond that truly made our time there perfect. I highly recommend getting some of his fresh eggs, they were delicious!! If you're looking for a private escape this place has a lot of it. If you need help, Mark will be right there for you. He's extremely helpful. The authentic outhouse is even spotless. You can tell he puts effort in making sure his guests are comfortable. Spread the word, this is a beautiful place.

My fiancée and I booked the site for a short get away over spring break. The area is absolutely beautiful. The campsite sits in back by a little creek and is very peaceful. Mark is a fantastic host and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be. I strongly recommend stopping by their roadside store in the front to get some of the fresh eggs and honey (and other items) they put out. There are also several swimming/fishing holes along the main creek that we will definitely come back and try when the weather is a little warmer.

Mark's campsite was perfect.
The little creek, the swimming hole, the quiet, the firewood. All made for a superb campsite.
There's a large work table for cooking and organizing gear if you need to. There's plenty of firewood stacked. The creekside campsite is nice and flat and easy to camp with a tent.
The roads up to the site was scenic and the fire road next to the site was fun.
Mark is a friendly and helpful fellow, he'll talk for hours if you need it and he'll disappear into the night after giving you the rundown if you don't.
I would camp here to relax and we couldn't ask for a better site.

This was a great location with a really welcoming host. Mark was very responsive as we planned a trip for a weekend group campout, and checked in during our stay to make sure we had what we needed. He even came down to the road after dark to help late arrivals get to the campsite after dark.
The camp sites are private and spacious. Mark had drinking and washing water supplied, lots of firewood, and a clean outhouse. There are opportunities to do some hiking and some off-roading nearby.

We had a great time on Marks land this weekend. The land was well kept, felt secluded and was just a short walk to a large clear creek. Mark was even kind enough to leave us lots of clean drinking water, plenty of firewood, and a clean outhouse. We especially enjoyed a small shop with plenty of snacks, drinks, ice cream, and ice for no up charge. There was also free fast wifi at the shack which was very close to the site.

Mark was an OUTSTANDING host. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. If you're rollin' through Tennessee, this spot is a MUST see. The land was gorgeous, and remote. I really felt like I was in mountain paradise. In the morning, I waded in the crystal clear creek, and got on my way. Mark and I chatted cordially on the way out, and I'm glad to have his acquaintance. Don't miss out on this one y'all!

Mark and his wife are such wonderful hosts! They had everything you could need at the little store up front. And braught us water on site to wash up with! 2 really great folks! the land layout was easy train for our kids 12, 6. And our 8 Y.O. dog.
Very secluded and quiet with a pretty awesome swimming hole !

Mark was incredibly kind and very reasonable to communicate with whenever we needed anything. The camp sites on his property are new and are still being built up and improved day by day. A great piece of property to have these sites on! We felt it was very private and peaceful since we were the only ones camping at the time(cannot comment on distance between possible sites as it’s just being newly set up.) Mark, the host, was extremely accommodating after a different HipCamp had put us in a real bind and left us without a camp site. The outhouse was nice, well built and dry(no mold, no bugs, no smells) and is a compost toilet. Wi-Fi available down the path. There is one small area currently for hammocks(although more hammock sites may be cleared in the future) that worked well for us. The creek is nearby and across the way is an area where you can take a dip. Plenty of potable well water available to fill our 5gallon water jug. We found it was 2WD accessible but our car is low so it was definitely a bit tricky at times! Public roads leading up to property are a little rough, partially broken pavement and partially dirt. 4WD definitely recommended! The host gave clear directions(definitely want to follow them instead of Google maps.) The farm stand is a real nice touch, too!

Trip to Mark's was great, and we really enjoyed our stay. It was nice and quiet and relaxing. They started a homestead during Covid, and are just getting their camp established.
They're super accommodating, and i'm sure this space will only improve over time. There are a couple of sites spread around an open field, perfect for couples or a group of campers. We took the creek site which was peaceful, you'll see it's across from a gravel road but it's little travelled.
This is a perfect place for stargazing if you get a clear evening.
There is a clean outhouse, water and firewood is provided. Mark also has ice and farm fresh eggs for sale and is in the process of building out a more complete farmstand.
Campground is about 100 yards from a larger stream which has a couple of great swimming holes, and is also stocked with Trout!
If we're in the area again we would definitely stay here again.
