Private Riverfront Retreat on the Scenic Waccamaw Escape to your own private getaway on the beautiful Waccamaw River in Conway, South Carolina. Tucked beside the peaceful Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club—but well outside the golf community—this 2.2-acre property offers unmatched privacy and tranquility. Enjoy exclusive access to over 350 feet of serene riverfront, shaded by towering hardwoods and pines. This quiet retreat feels a world away from the hustle and bustle, yet it’s ideally located for exploring the area. Historic downtown Conway, with its charming shops, restaurants, and scenic Riverwalk, is just 10 miles away via Hwy 905. If you're craving sand and surf, the north end of Myrtle Beach is only 15.5 miles away via Hwy 22, with quick connections to Hwy 31 for easy travel to North Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Garden City, Murrells Inlet, and the rest of the Grand Strand. Whether you're looking to relax in nature, paddle along the river, or explore the nearby coastal towns, this peaceful haven offers the perfect basecamp. *We now have a commercial portable toilet for your convenience. The toilet is serviced and cleaned weekly by the contractor* ***For your information*** There are two security cameras on site, one watches the entrance to the property (for obvious reasons), and the other is pointed at the river in the center of the property (this is because I need to know the height of the river at times, especially this time of year with hurricane season). Neither of these cameras look towards the interior of the property, or towards the "beach/kayak launch" where you can walk to the water. I have included photos in the listing where you can see screen shots of what these cameras' fixed viewpoints are. Rest assured, your privacy is not compromised.*** FOR TRASH DISPOSAL, there is an Horry County Recycling Center convieniently located 6 miles from the campsite, on Hwy 905. Here's the address: 7554 Highway 905, Conway 29526. Here's their days/hours of operation from the Horry County website: Hours: Monday, Wednesday - Saturday, 7AM - 7PM, Sunday, 1PM - 7PM-CLOSED TuesdayThe property is currently one large 2.2 acre camp site. The property is currently one large 2.2 acre camp site. Feel free to park your rig or place your tent(s) wherever you like. In the center of the property there is an opening between the trees. This was the first tent trip for my sons. Andrew’s directions were clear and helpful. The view was spectacular and site was well maintained. He was in contact the whole time. There were several places to choose from, for tent location, and all were flat. We highly recommend this land!

Andrew was very responsive and helpful with answering all of our questions. Place was a riverfront and really well organized with tables, fire pit, swing and most importantly toilet. Camping area was clean of all of the debris and stuff. We had great time overall. Few things I would like to share with fellow campers and I don't think it should affect our 5 star rating. The spot was quite dusty for us. We could see dust particles in air all the time and our cars and stuff were covered with dust after few hours. Our fault we did not take advantage of the river front. But it would have been really nice if we brought our fishing grear of had kayaks. You could splash kayaks there. But the downside of the river was fishermen and we even had folks came at night with bright light probably doing night fishing which made our stay not as private as we hoped to. Traffic in general was not that bad. We wish Andrew the best of luck with his business.

Beautiful spot on the river. The area had lots of shade and room for 2 trucks with trailers. The outhouse was clean and stocked with tp. We enjoyed watching the boats go up and down the river.

Great spot by the river. Lots of privacy. Easy access for fishing. Caught some nice catfish to cook on the fire. Owner is planning on doing some upgrades. Can't wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Riverfront campsite. We didn't take the opportunity to go swimming as some branches were down by the entrance of what we believed was the swimming area and we did see what we believed was a water snake when fishing the riverbank edge. Our only complaint would be a "wood pile" it looked like old fencing and though we didn't find any unwanted friends it would have been a great location for them. We was fortunate enough to also hear the owl near our site. Our daughter had a blast chasing some chickens that wandered too close and we saw many beautiful young deer in the late evenings and early mornings.

I loved tent camping on Andrew’s land! It was the first of many mom and sons camping trips. I was nervous, due to the weather being rainy, but the trees were in perfect locations for extra cover. The swing was a beautiful addition. Having numerous picnic tables was very useful,and the fire pit was huge!!

Our recent stay at Andrew's Hipcamp in Conway, SC, was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations! This spot is perfectly located – a quick drive to charming historic downtown Conway and only 30 minutes from the Myrtle Beach resorts, giving you the best of both worlds. The riverfront setting is truly beautiful, and having the fire pit right next to the water was a huge highlight. We're big fans of birds of prey, so we were thrilled to be greeted by an owl upon arrival, and we loved hearing it throughout the night. The property offers plenty of space, allowing us to choose our preferred setup, and we happily settled right by the fire pit. Andrew was an incredibly proactive and thoughtful host, ensuring the land was in top shape and even providing visual directions to the spot. The bonus of having a bunch of sticks ready for the fire was such a nice touch and showed his attention to detail. We will definitely be back with our kids – this has become a new favorite spot for us! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-maintained, and perfectly located camping experience.

Was a beautiful spot. Easy access within a safe and clean community, but the property itself is isolated well and feels secluded for a great camping experience. Very peaceful with the light water sounds as a backdrop. Plenty of space with great tree canopy for shade. Surprisingly the water and shade made it feel pretty great for a coastal SC July. Highly recommended!

Awesome waterfront property with good access for the kids to swim. Clean and quiet, neighbors didn’t bother us at all, great fire ring. Much needed retreat from normal life. Kids loved it. Will definitely go again.
