Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

The campsite itself was wonderful with the deck area and the stream location. We used the built in firepit both nights we stayed and very much enjoyed it. We did not realize until arrival that the campsite did not have a power outlet. That was the only downside we found.

This was such a peaceful retreat! The warm shower, toilet, coffee and camp store really amplified my stay! Super easy to find with Craig’s clear instructions, even in the dark! Highly recommend!!

We had a great time this weekend. The site was the perfect balance of privacy and convenience, and it's just a beautiful site. The bathroom and shower was great. It's conveniently located and very clean. The owner was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This was honestly a great site and we loved it for the most part. We did end up leaving early we couldn’t really use the restroom there because a family was in it the whole time and would charge there electronics and not let anyone in there. Also we had little kids come on are campsite and we did have a dog with us so it was inconvenient. I just wish there was a little heads up. But they did have a cute camping store. I would stay here again I just think it was that family that would not let us use the bathroom that ruined it for us.

Stayed in site 2 and it was nice and secluded. Bathhouse was a nice surprise also. Host keeps it clean and tidy. YMMV as to how fellow campers keep it. Beach is sandy so there is no parking directly by creek but we backed up as far as we could safely go for a nice view from our van. Firepit and picnic table are right on the beach area though. Very nice spot. I highly recommend.

Beautiful location with lots of privacy next to the North Saluda River. My dogs and grandchild had a blast playing in the river. I was able to do a little fishing and caught a small trout - catch and release of course. The deck was nice. Only recommendation would be to move the fire ring closer to the deck. Over all, a great place to camp - highly recommend. The host was super nice.

Secluded but not much space

Overall, I had a decent experience here but am not sure I'd go back to this particular site. I was the only guest there and walked all 3 sites and definitely think site 3 is the least desirable other than having a deck. The bathroom was decently clean and nice. It had rained and continued to rain while I stayed, which really showed the flaws of the deck site, so this may be overly critical if you aren't going when it's raining. The dirt road and a large portion of the site had standing water. I didn't get stuck in a 2WD car but was nervous I might and had to be careful where on the site I parked. I could either set my tent up closer to the river than advisible with heavy rain, on a dirt hill that water drained towards my tent, or right at the edge of the deck on some grass, squeezed in between some trees. I was in a 3 person backpacking tent and it barely fit. The site looked barely like the picture with almost no grass outside of the parking area that had a lot of standing water. Given how shaded it is, I think the host would be better served with some nice mulch instead of grass that either died or looked almost dead, leaving most of the site dirt. Proximity to the stream was nice and the deck was nice to sit on during breaks in rain and enjoy the sounds of the stream. The site is visible from the road but far enough away I didn't get a lot of noise or feel exposed. I could hear Hwy 25 off in the distance, but not enough to be bothersome to me since I'm a heavy sleeper.

Very private, quite, very warming. You can catch fish. We really like how each station is spaced far from each other, very private. Definitely a come back place. Their is restroom next to the old house, shower all new construction. When you call the owner with any questions, he answers right away, and get you what you need. Lovely place.

Amazing property and campsite especially for a bigger group or family! We fit 2 vehicles and 2 tents easily for our family of 4 tweens, 1 teen, 1 dog, and 2 tired crazy parents, with easy access to river, facilities, and a fantastic little camp store. Craig was super responsive and helpful, going above and beyond to loan us something we forgot to pack. We loved floating from campsite 1 down to 3, and walking back to do it again. We will 100% be back!

Perfect for Family & Friend Getaway

Amazing spot for our family and friends to camp for the weekend. My kids (5 and 7) spent half their time in the creek. The site is quite sandy as it’s all along the shore. We loved nights by the fire pit and days spent wandering the property and enjoying the remnants of the flower farm! Craig was a fantastic, responsive and attentive host. When a limb had fallen and we couldn’t access site 3, he quickly got out and had it cleared so that the other members of our camping party could get in without a problem. The bathroom is fantastic. The sites are not visible from each other and I love the idea of booking a couple spots there when the kids are older and letting them float down the creek between sites. It’s perfect depth for it. We saw a river otter, heron, lots of little fish, baby toads and so many wildflowers at our sites! Heard coyotes and owls at night. The road noise from highway 25 is quite pronounced at site #1 and less so at site #3. We cranked up the white noise on our second night and that really helped. The creek is very quiet. Highly recommend for families or multiple group campouts!

Great camping spot overall the sites are well kept and easy to access. Only problem encountered and sadly something the host has no control over is the road noise. By day it's not that noticeable but by night it stands out.

Absolutely beautiful property! The private beach was perfect for the kids to play in the river. All the sites looked very well maintained & each offer different perks. Having access to a very nice, clean bathroom was a huge perk to "roughing it". We can't wait to come back again!

We love this campsite! Friends and I have stayed here twice and hope to come back again. The campsite is nice and private with a private little beach along the creek. Perfect for the dogs to swim and play. We spent time sunbathing, and playing Kan Jam and cornhole on the grassy field area. The bathroom is so nice and clean- a true luxury when camping- and the shower water has great pressure and temperature. The only thing missing is a little curtain on the window to keep it a bit more private 😊 Craig even supplies firewood at $7 a bundle and farm fresh eggs! This is my favorite kind of camping!!

The campsite was awesome beside a river with a nice picnic table and Firepit. This place had wonderful shower and toilet area very clean. At night when going to use the showee/toilet just be aware of roaches everywhere on the floors and wallls. I would rec some type of rodent hotels places around to kill these rodents and a backup of a place to store toiletries . Luckily I had backup Of TP and paper towels. The outdoor covered cool area was very nice stocked with a coffe maker, refrigerator and toaster oven., nap. This place was peaceful, a very relaxing serene area in a beautiful grassed field Never met the owner,but thank you Craig for a wonderful stay at your property..

Campsite #2 was private and not visible from the road. Bath house was within walking distance and well maintained, very clean. Camp store had plenty of dry firewood available if needed. We saw deer tracks on the beach by the river upon arrival but no new tracks the next morning. Lots of pretty wild flowers and so many hummingbirds. I believe all 3 campsites were occupied, we saw other campers walk past to the bath house once but never bumped into anyone. Campsites are spaced far enough apart that you cannot see or heard other campsites. Traffic noise was pretty constant most of the night but the bugs help drown it out.

If you are looking for a nice, private and unique camping destination, don't look further. We stayed two nights at site #1 but checked #2 and 3 as well when we arrived. The three sites are very nice. The bathroom with hot water was super clean and the little shop adorable (We didn't need anything from it but it is a very nice touch). We highly recommend that place!

Riverside camping at it's best!

This farm is so sweet and very private. The parking spot for campsite #3 is close enough yet you don't see it easily while camping making it feel more remote. The river was so awesome and fun tubing down near our spot. There is a water spigot at this site too. The picnic table was sturdy and nice to have. Camping right next to the river was perfect. The shower and bathroom must be fairly new and it was so nice. No fan so it can get hot and stuffy after showering in the summer months to be warned but so very nice overall! They even have a nice toaster oven, coffee machine, bring your own coffee and a mini fridge if needed for a few things. They sell fig trees, cactus and firewood. I will say you can here the freeway since it is fairly close but it's not too bad, but can definitely here it. I would still highly recommend this farm! Site #3 was perfect!
