Just a great place to stay with and an awesome person facilitating everything. I haven’t got a bad thing to say. I recommend you go here so we can keep taking advantage of a sweet spot to sleep out in for years to come.

Absolutely magical. The Yurt site at Getaway Ranch is one of those rare, special places that can heal your weary soul. The perfect balance of wilderness immersion and convenience. Will you hear some faint sounds of civilization in the distance? Yes. But, that's a fair trade-off for a FWD accessible site where you will fall asleep to the sound of barred owls and coyotes, then wake up to the beauty of the fog rolling off the river. Lot's of cool amenities. We definitely want to try our the Yurt site's cast iron smoker next year! Thank you, Karyssa!

Quick Getaway 🌙

We had a nice stay at the Getaway Ranch. It felt private and secluded but was still fairly close to the beach and other amenities. Shower was clean and hot. They were quick to take care of us if we needed anything. We were serenaded by crickets and barred owls each night.

Back for our second stay at Getaway Ranch this summer. We thoroughly enjoyed the Main Campsite this time. Made full use of the kayaks and I love all the stone surfaces. The space was quiet, private and has it's own dock on Alton Pond. I'm almost certain we will be back again next summer and bringing some friends along too. Thank you for providing a safe and accessible space.

Love the Gazebo.

I loved the gazebo at the Cow Springs site. It had been raining a lot and we got to camp at sundown. We chose to sleep in the gazebo instead of setting up the tent. It was great!

Great time with friends

We had a great camping time with my friends at main campsite. The view is beautiful and private campsite. The host prepared almost everything we needed for camping, such as firewood, trash bags, and tents, even though we brought our own stuffs. The next day when we woke up, it started heavy raining, but we were still very good, and felt comfortable to take a shower after that. Thank you for the great campsite.

We stayed at this place with my partner about three weeks ago, and it was a beautiful experience. The place was just as beautiful as it was described, and we really enjoyed our stay. The only issue was that when we arrived, everything inside was wet, including the mattress, so we had to go out and purchase a new one. Other than that, everything was great, and we had a wonderful time. We would definitely recommend this place!

Getaway Ramble

We had a great time at the Getaway Ranch. Karyssa had great communication and made sure we had what we needed for a smooth arrival. The camp store and bathroom+shower were nice conveniences to have without taking away too much of that “camping” feeling. Our site felt private even if we could see/hear other guests going by since we were near the front. Overall it was a great experience and we’d be happy to return.

We ended up not staying at the camp site, so take this review with a grain of salt. The listing of the site we chose was a little deceiving and we didn’t entirely feel comfortable or safe staying. The hosts are great, but again we didn’t feel like the listing painted the whole picture of what you’re getting.

The Yucky Yurt

A friend and I stayed at the Yurt campsite at Getaway Ranch, I wish I had many positive things to say. When we arrived we noticed a couple tents, a hammock, and a couple of camping chairs. Which normally would be useful but thankfully we had all of our own gear. The chairs and hammock were useless because they are left out in the weather and were saggy and gross. The small tent already had water inside of it and the bigger tent was dirty and smelled like old tobacco. Unfortunately because of all the useless gear that was there plus our own gear we set up, in an already small campsite was very cramped. We also had to move around a giant puddle the entire time right in the middle of our campsite from the rain that we had. Worst of all we were given permission from the owner to cut the strings on the big tent on the platform so that we can put our own tents on the platform. Now they are trying to charge me $150 dollars for damaging the tent they gave me permission to move out of the way. Oh also if you actually want to fish from the campsite, you will have to take turns. The bank is overgrown and difficult to maneuver around.

Gazebo on the pond

The gazebo on the pond at Cow Springs was amazing! Such a peaceful little spot. Karyssa was very easy to work with and she even brought down an air pump for the mattress as the temperatures has dropped a bit. Overall a beautiful spot that is highly recommended!

One of a kind experience!!!

We absolutely loved this campsite! We stayed here with our kids, and they had the best time fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. It was such a great place for the whole family to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. We brought our own tent, but there were also two tents already set up on the site. There is still plenty of space if you want to bring your own tent as well. The campsite itself is huge, with two giant picnic tables that were perfect for eating, playing games, and hanging out. This is a true camping experience, and honestly, it has been the best campsite we’ve stayed at so far. Just come prepared! Bring flashlights, toilet paper for the outhouse, and your own water jug for washing your hands, dishes, and cooking utensils. The community center, where the bathroom and shower are located, is a bit of a walk from the campsite, but we didn’t mind at all. We used the outhouse during our stay and only walked over to the community center when we wanted to shower. The farm stand is also a great convenience. If you forget something, you don’t necessarily have to leave the ranch to get it. And if you do need a larger grocery run, Walmart and other grocery stores are nearby. One of our favorite parts was the nighttime sky—it was absolutely beautiful! We had such a great experience and are already planning to come back next year. Highly recommend this campsite, especially for families looking for a peaceful, fun, and authentic camping experience!
