Spanning 41 acres at the end of Fort Getty Road, this town-owned facility primarily serves as a recreational-vehicle campground while also offering a designated tent camping area. Visitors to Fort Getty can explore remnants of old fortifications, enjoy a rocky beach, and take advantage of a public boat ramp and dock. The park features the Kit Wright walking trail, which winds through the picturesque Fox Hill Marsh, completed in the winter of 2000. Additionally, a wildlife observation platform, built by the Boy Scouts and funded by the Rotary Club, enhances the park's appeal for nature enthusiasts. With breathtaking views of the Jamestown Bridge and the West Passage, Fort Getty Park is a vital recreational and open space resource for the community. During the summer months, non-residents are required to pay fees for parking and boat launching, while residents need a Beach sticker for entry. The campground accommodates 75 seasonal RV sites and 26 tent sites, making it an ideal spot for outdoor activities and relaxation.
