I love the privacy and how nice and accommodating the host is!
Whisky Ridge is close, but not too close, to Interstate 5. Pluses include good bird habitat, lazy river, responsive host, clean porta potty, and open space. The site is a bit dusty with moderate road noise. This is a good option for through travelling, but not a place we would stay for more than one night.

I agree with other campers that this is a work in progress but I wouldn’t stay again. We moved from stall 2 to 9 which was better for our setup. The first three stalls are side by side with zero privacy. The road noise, nearby local airport, barking dogs and other campers made it impossible to relax. Campers cut through our site to access the river. Stayed one night of three and left. Water was available but didn’t know where to go. Camp host wife was nice but seemed a bit overwhelmed with the amount of campers. The terrain is very uneven and not really set up for tents. Good access to festivals if staying a night or two but not a relaxing weekend.
We had a mixed stay here. The natural setting is nice and our kids and dog enjoyed splashing around in the river, but there were several issues worth mentioning for future campers and the management.
Site spacing & noise: The campsites are packed quite close together, and the highway noise carries into the sites — it was noticeably loud throughout our stay. If privacy matters to you, we'd recommend Site 9, which felt like the most secluded option we saw.
Cleanliness: Both the campsite and the river beach had broken glass scattered around, which is a serious safety concern with kids around. The river itself also had trash in it — plastic bottles and other garbage — along with mossy tires dumped in the water.
Noise & supervision at the group site: The neighboring group site was hosting what felt like a music festival, with loud music blasting from cars for most of the day and into the night. There were at least 10 unsupervised children, including toddlers, wandering around at times. It was pretty obvious that locals come here to party. We reached out to Tim (camp staff/management), and he did respond, but the music remained extremely loud until 9:30.
Nice touch, but a hiccup: The solar string lights around the site were a lovely touch — but in the middle of the night they started flashing and woke our kids up.
Overall: We'd consider returning if these issues — particularly the glass/trash cleanup and better enforcement of reasonable noise levels and quiet hours.
We had an amazing trip! Very nice and friendly host. The spot is close to the river with a lot of deep swimming holes. Bathroom was clean. Great for kids, grab a paddle board or floaty and enjoy the river. Just remember to bring bug spray for the mosquitoes :)
The site is difficult to find at night, very load from road traffic ( and barking dogs constantly) and guest across from my site were up & load until 2am (a big party group). The Porta Potty was disgusting and the pond has an infestation of mosquitoes. I came ill prepared for the mosquitos and now suffer from hundreds of bites all over my body. Very unhappy weekend stay. I will not return.
Overall we had a great experience! Check in and finding the site was easy. Perfect size spot for our tear drop trailer and car and the hammock was a nice addition. Not a private type of site at all, and traffic noise from the road was noticeable, but it’s awesome that it was so easy to book at the last minute. Our site was conveniently located to the porta-potty without being too close to smell. However, it was a holiday weekend and there was a large group next to us, so the porta john probably should have been checked more often by camp hosts for cleanliness and having toilet paper rolls added inside (they did leave extra rolls in a bin outside at least). Nearby a pond, so mosquitos were definitely out and biting despite our bug spray efforts. Would stay here again for a quick camp out weekend due to close proximity to home and ease of booking.
Great site, barely anyone there when I went. The first couple sites could be a little close if they were all full but hey better then having 50 sites side by side. it was great. I’d recommended site #1 , 7 or 10 ….. ten is tucked away with plenty of tree coverage and right by the river. The bullfrogs at night were amazing and if you like bats they are all over the place at dusk watched them for quite some time. Also some good little fishing spots. Thanks for the great weekend!!!

The mosquitos were bad despite the candles and bug spray. I’ve never had so many bites. I was very distressed for a few days due to how my body reacted to this. There’s some kind of pond / stagnant water nearby - please be aware. This should be made known.
The dirt isn’t great.
The hosts were nice to lend a table and offer to show us where to access water - as it wasn’t clear in description or on maps how to do so.
The fire put was cute.
It was nice to have an outhouse.
Overall, good site free wood and a fire pit. The service was good if you needed something. The site was smaller than expected. The river access was not good straight down hill and muddy. I mostly got it for the water access so I was disappointed. We went to Saint Paul rodeo and it was close to that so that was nice. The shade was nice but the gross was sharp and pointy couldn’t do much. It’s a newer site so I see the potential but I wouldn’t stay again.
I will start by saying that the owner and his wife were very accommodating and understanding, so I have no complaints there. However, the stall that we originally booked is very narrow and offers virtually no privacy from the people you are camping next to, so it would be nearly impossible to get an authentic camping experience on this property as you are listening to other groups conversations at all times.
The second, and even more disappointing part is how close the whole camp site is to a main road. There is a lot of noise from cars throughout all hours of the night, and we even had a pair of fan boats that were riding up and down the river near to our tent as late as 3 AM. I’m not sure if this is a regular occurrence or a freak thing, but it was incredibly loud and incredibly bright whenever they would pass by our section of the river. We got virtually no sleep due to the level of noise.
All in all the hosts were very kind, and were as accommodating as they could be, but unfortunately, if you want any type of seclusion or peace and quiet, this is not the campsite for you. You will be within 20 feet of another campers area no matter what, and if that’s your thing then great, but we didn’t like it at all.
Very nice camp host. Plenty of firewood. Listened to the frogs sing in the pond at night. Great proximity to Renaissance festival. We will be back next year.
Ample camping spots with a lovely pond (very relaxing listening to the bullfrogs and killdeer birds in the evening). Easy access/short stroll to the Pudding River was very nice.

I had a very enjoyable stay. I loved watching the egrets fish in the nearby pond. The campsite felt private and was well-kept. The porta potty and trash bin was close by, and there was plenty of firewood. However, the nearby road is a bit loud, so expect to hear cars driving by throughout the night. Thanks, Tim!

This place is awesome.
Great spot! Work in progress but they are actively focusing on it. It has a river and a pond, ideal for tiny humans and their caregivers to play in all day. Hosts were so amazing and attentive. My 5 year old was exhausted by the end of the day from catching frogs and fish and playing in the river.
We stayed in a site next to the pond which had a picnic table and unlimited firewood all stacked and ready.
We live in Tigard and on a Friday afternoon traveling on I5south we were able to get there in 40 minutes. Super nice to be able to grab last minute marshmallows a 5 minute drive away when his mom realized she forgot them.

We had a great time camping here. It is a beautiful piece of land and is being built up into a great new campground. We had everything we needed, with a picnic table, fire pit and porta potty. Private, we were the only ones there. A highlight was the little river, with hammock swings on the bank, to take a dip on a hot day or just relax. Lots of bird song and several deer.

Great spot to sleep if you're looking to be near the city. The road stays quite active at night and bug spray is a must but for the price it can't be best. Hosts were kind and accommodating!
We really enjoyed camping at Whiskey Point. We were not entirely sure what to expect with the new listing but were happily surprised. Porta-potty was available on site and clean. Each site had a picnic table and fire pit. We comfortably fit two large (10’ x 14’) tents while still having more than enough room for coolers, meal prep tables, and space around the fire pit.
Our dog loved swimming in the river but be careful of the current. Make sure to bring plenty of water but if you forget grocery stores are not too far away.
During our stay a few sites were set up but it’s clear they have more on the way. This is a fantastic property with lots of room to grow while still making sure campers have some privacy from each other.
