Millicoma River Hideaway
Lovely camp site! I really appreciated the propane fire pit and enjoying a safe campfire during the burn ban season. Thanks for letting me rent the propane tank!
It is set a little off a main road, but not that much road noise. Very clean toilet!
Directions are a little challenging. Probably good to text the owner before heading out to get exact location.
I enjoyed exploring the coast, sea lions, driving along the Coos River. Very peaceful weekend!

Porta Potty a bonus
Very private and plenty of space to spread out. Right next to and above the road but very few cars passed by on our overnight stay. Millicoma river is directly across the street but was not suitable for swimming the time we were there. Sky is open above the tent site for star gazing. A clean porta Potty was a nice bonus. A simple spot, easy to get to and would stay here again when traveling through

Cute and thanks for HipCamp sign!
Nice and easy to find. Super private and clean bathroom. Lovely little town road to get in and out. No signal so just know your distance markers to Silver and Golden Falls and back to Coos Bay. Wish we could do more at the creek but my dog was super fulfilled and it felt like a comfort to come back to after a day of activity.

Coming from Washington, this was our basecamp for 2night while exploring the area. My pup and I had an amazing peaceful stay. Coty was so generous to let us borrow his propane tank for the firepit d/t current fireban. Clean, quiet, and plenty of space for my pup to roam around. Even though it’s close to the road, there was barely cars that passed through. No cell service which makes the experience of unplugging even better! Highly recommend. Thanks again Coty!

Due to my own fault I wasn't able to locate his place but he was so apologetic and offered me a free night.. I plane on going to his place next summer when I do another road trip because it sounds amazing

peaceful creekside retreat
This was the perfect spot for us to get away for the weekend with our two mutts. It's like a campground site - (gas) firepit, picnic table, parking pad, and porta-potty - made for just a single set of campers. No neighbors, no wandering dogs, or noise from surrounding camps. Just shady peace & quiet, with the creek accessible down the driveway and across the not-very-busy road. The spot is up against a fern-covered slope and surrounded by dense trees, too, so you can sleep in without getting roasted in your tent!
Keep going up the 241 and you'll hit a couple of great & easy hikes at the Silver & Golden Falls state park. Coos Bay is close by; make sure you get over the bridge before heading inland to the spot.
When I booked, I got a fire ban notice that extended to cook stoves & gas rings, which was above and beyond the current mandate, but I contacted Coty about that and it turns out that it was fine. They had a very nice gas fire ring there and we only needed to bring our propane tank. Check the fire regs & contact the host, so you know what to expect.
Great host, lovely spot to kick back & relax. We'll definitely be back and recommend this place, if you are looking for some downtime!
