The description of this campground was spot-on—every detail was accurate, from how to find and contact them to exactly what the campground would be like. It truly is about a five-minute walk from where you park to where you enter the actual campsite.
As someone who hikes and backpacks regularly, I loved the short walk into camp. It felt like stepping into a quiet, private oasis in the middle of a beautiful forest, with nothing but the faint sound of the ocean in the background—absolutely magical.
For those who don’t realize you have to walk your gear in, be prepared to carry everything to your site and back out when you leave. They do provide a handy wagon to make the trips easier, but depending on how much you bring, it might take a few trips over mild uphill and downhill terrain. It’s not hard, but if you’re not used to being active, it could feel like a workout.
The campground itself was gorgeous. The outhouse was the cleanest I have ever seen (truly impressive), and since you’re deep in the forest, peeing outside is no big deal.
The host was friendly and welcoming when we checked in, and after that, we hardly saw them—just how I like it! We had complete freedom to come and go as we pleased while enjoying our adventures in the area.
I would absolutely recommend this campground to anyone who appreciates a little adventure and the beauty of a tucked-away forest retreat.
