Reconnect with nature and escape the heat on our 28 acre filbert orchard, better known as hazelnuts. On hot summer days you’ll find the temperature under the orchard canopy almost 10 degrees cooler at the heat of the day. Feel free to roam the orchard, play a little hide and seek, hang up a hammock, or bring a blanket and picnic. Within walking or bicycle distance are fantastic amenities including Aurora Colony Vineyards, Pheasant Run Tasting room (Friday summer concerts), Aurora Colony Pub (acoustic Thursday), Filbert Farmhouse Restaurant, White Rabbit Bakery, Aurora Healing Gardens-psilocybin experience (advanced reservation required), a local park and lots of antique stores. Within driving distance are tons of wineries, breweries, distilleries and the Woodburn Outlet Mall. Here to visit wine country? Welcome campers! This site is perfect for tent and car camping. Parking is available for only a single vehicle but multiple tents if needed. For roof top tents, you may want to be in our old growth orchard sites 1-9 for shade and privacy. You will have a designated parking space between a row of Hazelnut Trees (16ft total length enough for a passenger vehicle). Feel free to pitch a tent in any comfortable spot nearby. These sites are by reservation only and will be reserved for you to arrive anytime during the length of your reservation. Your site will have a picnic table and a firepit, with firewood available for sale onsite (when not too dry). We usually have a burn ban that starts sometime in July and goes until the fall rain. We do allow propane fireplaces and stoves year-round. There are a few hammocks available for use when on property. We have 3 flushing toilets, an enclosed shower, and an outdoor shower. The outdoor shower has 3 walls, a curtain, and the best view of any shower nearby! Note that these toilets see heavy use Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30-9:30am. Lovely campsite with rows of hazelnut trees, friendly golden retriever Paisley, cute goats munching fallen apples, and sociable horses. Kind owner shared great tips on nearby spots. Aurora’s a charming small town with antique shops and excellent eats—loved Filbert’s Farmhouse Kitchen and White Rabbit Bakery’s cinnamon rolls, coffee, and breakfast. Locals are welcoming. Note to campers: planes, trains, and automobiles—all can be heard till 11 PM and from 5 AM due to nearby road, airport, and railroad; bring earplugs. Would return!

I loved tent camping on shane’s property! The ground was flat and it was easy to shoo the hazelnuts away to have a nice cozy spot for the tent. It was an easy walk to the wash room and you could say hi to some very friendly horses on the way. I would come back again!

I stayed 4 nights at Tranquil Orchards while selling art at the Salem Art Fair. It was definitely Tranquil and a beautiful setting close enough to Salem. The campsites are all lovely. The hazelnuts were ripe and dropping from the trees adding to the magical setting. The extremely low fuss setup along with toilets, shower and wash area made it perfect for my stay.

I stayed at site #06 in my high roof 4x4 sprinter van. I was able to back all the way into this site, clearing the trees with plenty of room to spare. I used both the bathroom and the outdoor shower and they were both clean with the shower having plenty of hot water. There is a small airport near by as others have stated in their reviews and I did hear one small plane fly over head. I recommend a stay at Shane’s place.

This was the perfect place for us. My wife and I came from Utah, and wanted to see a lot of different places all around Oregon. This Orchard was a pretty great middle point, everything we wanted to go to was no more than 2 hours in any direction, the furthest thing being the beach. We stayed all week, and each day we'd be gone most of the day, and getting back to the orchard each evening felt so comfy, safe, and relaxing. Shane was an awesome host, we requested an additional night after some changed plans and he was very helpful and quick to respond. Overall one of the best camping experiences I've had!

We absolutely loved staying here! The entire property is gorgeous, with the campsites privately tucked in the massive orchard, spaced out with plenty of room between each one. It was quiet, serene, and felt incredibly safe. The bathroom facilities were very clean and had running water and flushing toilets. We enjoyed visiting with the animals on the property and had a lovely chat with the friendly owners. We woke to hot air balloons soaring in the sunrise and lounged in the hammocks for use on the campsite. Absolutely would recommend this property and we look forward to returning!

Camping in the hazelnut groves was great- plenty of good spots for tents, a table, and plenty of privacy. There was a bit of traffic noise at night and the shower could have been a little cleaner, but overall a good stay and I’d book here again.

Although I have owned an RV since 2021, It's my first time camping in years! I'm not camping out of a minivan, and Shane's land was a perfect place to land. It is easy to find but peaceful, and there is plenty of space between the sites, providing visual and auditory privacy. I loved the outdoor bathrooms, and there's an outdoor shower (one of two available). There was recycling which was great, and a friendly dog onsite. The hosts are friendly and responsive - I'm going back for another night!

Super calm and clean. The only thing I would say is that there was no warning about the curb height when entering the orchards. Entering was fine but exiting proved difficult. We tried backing up but almost messed up our RV, we had to shimmy the van back and forth and then drive around the orchard trees in order to find a curb that was more flush with the dirt path. Some warning on this would be nice for the future bookers!

Car camped in my Tesla in the apple orchard. There is a large picnic table at every orchard camping site. You are camping on dirt bring a ground mat to keep from bring in dirt into your vehicle. It’s Quiet, sites are far enough away to provide reasonable privacy. Very few insects. Toilets are a hike away unless you have the camp site closest to the house. Enjoyable experience, I recommend this site.

We enjoyed our stay! My friend and I were in the area for the Swan Island Dahlia Festival up in Canby. Though the weekend weather was incredibly hot, and we were traveling in my VW Westfalia (no A/C), the orchard offered a shady respite from the heat at the end of the day. Our campsite was quiet and clean, and had a large picnic table for breakfasts and dinners. We enjoyed the outdoor shower, which offered an opportunity to "cold plunge" after a day of exploring in the sun. The farm felt safe for female solo travelers and seemed family and dog friendly as well. The orchard is close to Aurora Mills Architectural Salvage and Filbert Farmhouse Kitchen, two fantastic finds, and a short drive to the sweet town of Canby. Tranquil Orchards is a perfect base camp for exploring the area, which seems to have endless activities during the summer. The only thing we would do differently next time is reserve a spot closer to the restrooms as the walk from site 3 was a bit of a trek, especially at night, and sign up for the wine tour this Hipcamp host offers. Positive and unique camping experience!

This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was great! The campsite was really nice and secluded and nestled in the grove of trees which provided great shade on a warm day. The bathroom facilities were clean and the shower was great with very warm water and great pressure. I really couldn't ask for more and will be back. Waze did take me to the wrong street at first but the host noted GPS is not great for the address so watch the map and look for the white gates to turn in.

My family loved camping in the orchards. It was a very fun and unique experience. We didn't have any issues camping but if you are tent camping and need the bathroom more often, I would suggest reserving the spots close to the flush bathrooms. Sites 8,9,14,15 are close and the outdoor shower has hot water. It can also be a little noisy as it is close to a small airport and train tracks. Over all a good experience and will come back next time we come up to Oregon.

This was an amazing camping experience. Seamless and smooth check in with a lovely campsite. Even in the blistering heat this weekend, the orchard was at least 10 degrees cooler at all times. Bathrooms and outdoor shower are a very welcome addition. Would for sure stay again!
