Camping, fire pits, short hiking trails on property, compost toilets, potable water access, 25 mins from the beach and Pacific City, OR. A small creek is on the property and though too shallow for a good swim, it makes a lovely way to cool off in summer heat and excellent for splashing around with kiddos. There are several options for camping sites. A steep fire road (for 4wheel drive... or pack in access) leads into the woods for shady sites or camp below nearer the creek in an open grassy area in front of the house. Experienced 4-wheeling drivers only REQUIRED if you want to drive up to ridge sites. Otherwise feel free to park below and pack your gear up on foot. Less than 15 mins walk to ride sites. We have an outdoor aerial rig set up to enjoy, horseshoe pits and "lawn bowling":) We are not quite set up as a "glamping" venue so you must have and bring all your own gear. We will have wood available for purchase. We ask you keep fires small for safety and use of any cooking stoves done carefully and wisely. WE REQUIRE THAT FIRES ARE DEAD OUT BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP, NO COALS, NO SMOKE AND ALL PROPANE TURNED COMPLETELY OFF!!! As of now there are already 3 dogs and 3 cats on the property so we are asking at this point for a NO PETS please. We look forward to hosting you at The Rusty Rose!

This is an open field in front of house with plenty of room for tents. This is a shared space, so you may encounter other campers and they will likely be visible from your site. This goes along with the community vibe we want to promote. Big communal firepit which all guests are welcome to. Access to a creek to wade and splash in. Can filter drinking water from creek or there is access to potable water via a hose that draws from good well water. Compost toilet. Lawn games such as horse shoes, lawn bowling :) Just pull in, park and camp where ever you like! We will come out to say hi and make sure you're all set to go if we don't meet before hand. Please no RVs. We can accept tents, cars, campervans, and pop-up/roof top tents. (no pets please, we have three and have enough poo to clean up as is, thanku:)

Creekside Open Camp

Beautiful property! Great location close to many spots to visit on the coast. We loaded what we could on the motorcycle and pitched a tent under an apple tree near the creek. Loved stargazing as we sat around the fire pit. Good conversation from the hosts like we were visiting with friends. Good beach recommendations. Didn’t get to check out the trails from the property but hope to be back to explore more.

Exactly as described. Lots of room to set up either near the camp fire or farther away, if you wanted some space from other campers. The host was friendly and very helpful. The dogs were super sweet. My first time using a composting toilet. Definitely made the outhouse-like setup less stinky. And I liked having access to water from the well via the garden hose. We didn't get a chance to hike around the property, but that sounded like it would have been fun, given the host's description of the area. I appreciated the signs by the road and the maps by the gate. Would definitely camp here again. Thanks!!

It was my first time staying here and I wasn't sure what to expect with the open camping setup. From the first greeting I felt very welcome. Like hanging with old friends. And the fire pit is killer and Tara and Josh have the sweetest little dogs. Would love to come back with my partner next time

Beautiful grounds. Super friendly hosts. Communal vibe, yet plenty of space. We didn’t explore the upper sites and just stayed on the lower grassy area. There was a small amount of traffic noise from the highway, but it didn’t bother me and was only intermittent at night. We arrived late and departed early, so I didn’t see it all during daytime, but seemed like a beautiful space and let safe. They had potable water and a compost toilet and a huge fire pit. I fell asleep looking up at the stars. I’ll be back!
