We found our forever home about 2 years ago and, after a crazy rollercoaster ride of purchasing, we finally got to move onto the property a year and a half ago. Like most new farmsteaders we hit our fair share of bumps in the road and learned a few lessons along the way. But all in all we are getting the place to where we want it to be and making our dreams come true. Although we are not quite there, we are starting to open up a few spots to have guests stay here and help us enjoy it with us along our journey! We have some tipi tent camping sites started in the front yard opposite our huge sun shaped garden. Soon we will be opening up our campers to rent in the back yard, along with our new bath house project we've started recently. We also have a turkey, chickens, quail and ducks that you can spend time with. And yes, we have eggs you can buy! Not to mention our backwoods that has amazing hiking, with several different paths. Even one that takes you to the future site, of what will be our biggest project, our pond.

      Such a beautiful and inviting property and family. It's directly off the main road so it was easy to get going again the next day. I would definitely stay here again. I appreciate that we had facilities to use, but their composting toilet is wasteful and not serving the purpose of a composting toilet in its current status. I would, 100 percent, recommend getting the farm fresh eggs and making them for breakfast- that was so delightful and delicious with the meadow and garden to look over. Thanks Jason and Family for making us feel welcomed

      I believe the owners intentions are good but this place needs more transparency and work. First you must be ok with noise. It's right on hwy 126, lot's of hwy noise, 2nd there is a train that goes through along the hwy, 3rd there are roosters roosting very near where you camp. Also the bathroom is not a bathroom, its a bucket with a plastic bag in it that goes into the trash. No visible composting on sight. Also the site needs to be cleaned up where the owners live. We had dinner at the "camp" and then got a hotel. The tipi was clean and in good shape, made of plastic not canvas.

      Lovely gardens and wildflower lawns. Amenities are clean and supplies stocked. Complimentary 420 package was a fantastic perk. Highly recommended for nature lovers.

      Tipi Camp @ Stoney Acres Farmstead
      A slice of natures heaven surrounded by permaculture property. Its close enough to the city but far away from town to feel remote and private. The hosts make you feel that loving midwestern farm hometown vibe. Super gracious loving people. My stay was peaceful and relaxing. Definitely recommend my staying here.
