My fiancée and I had a wonderful, last minute stay at Shakti’s property. She was extremely accommodating, communicative and friendly. Upon our arrival she was very respectful of our space and privacy, and happy to give us a bunch of local recommendations and even offered us her own garden to use for dinner meals. The spot we parked our camper van was close to level. Something potential guests should know is that there is an emergency light installed near the campsite area so make sure to have black out/shading, which we were lucky to have and it wasn’t an issue. The view and gentle sound of the river was as relaxing as we imagined, and we can’t wait to come back someday. We truly can’t thank Shakti enough for her generosity and hospitality!

Shakti's Hipcamp is a delightful perch above a tranquil and scenic stretch of the McKenzie River. The site is small and very close to the house, but the unobstructed front row seats to this slice of Oregon beauty are wonderful. Shakti is a gracious and informative host who can direct guests to the wealth of nearby outdoor recreational opportunities. Access to the river at the site is a bit challenging, but short hikes lead to a variety of fishing and swimming holes, and the sleepy little community of Blue River. There is some noise from the nearby highway, but we didn't find that distracted from the serenity of the site. We would visit Shakti's site again and would recommend it to others.
