Jim and Gwen are wonderful hosts. Charming, friendly and thoughtful, they have set up their property to provide the best camping experience possible, with level, soft ground for tent camping, trash bins, chairs and tables. Their camper next to the sites offers a clean toilet and sink with potable water. Jim has also provided a hose for use. We spend two nights tent-camping at site #2 in mid-August, and were the only campers there at the time. (there are three sites). If you go in the summer, bring shade as it can get quite hot during the day (the evenings, nights and early mornings are delightful). The property itself is beautiful and the horses next to the campsites add to the joy of the experience. If you are not a very heavy sleeper, do bring ear plugs, as the campsites are near a highway, and even though it's not busy at night, the handful of trucks and motorcycles going past are not quiet. However, the overall experience, the host's super-friendly demeanor (offered us produce from their garden, and an adult beverage and great conversation in the evening), the low cost and the wonderful amenities made this a great stay for us.

Beautiful views very easy to find. Gwen and Jim were gracious hosts. We were tent camping and I slept like a log. Would definitely book another stay with them.

Jim + Gwen were great! Jim let me in on arrival and let me know which area was going to get the most morning shade. Lovely property - close to the road, but it quieted down quick after hours! Gwen provided some awesome AM adventure plans. Close to painted hills - which was 110% worth the trip. Water is from a hose at the site (but tastes great!) - clean *flushing* toilet in the RV nearby. Gorgeous (and I do mean that!) gardens. Owners have a safety light - but with sun shades my camper was nice and dark. Greater overnight - sorry I couldn't stay longer!!!

We had a lovely time at Gwen and Jim’s ranch! The place is beautiful and we got to enjoy a stunning sunset. Gwen and Jim are very welcoming and generous ! I definitely recommend the place. We could use the hosts’ camper for portable water and toilet, which turned out to be pretty useful!

gwen and jim are the sweetest!!! they met us with nothing but smiles and kind words, and even recommended a few good swimming spots. we absolutely loved staying there next to the horses and on their beautiful property. having the toilet inside their camper was nice too! i would recommend bringing a source of shade if staying there while sunny as it got quite hot but we cooled off well in the sprinklers :) extra thanks to those two for helping us jump our car when the battery died !!!

Gwen and Jim's land was very cute! We got there late, around 10:00pm, and they were accommodating to that as I kept in touch on our drive to give a more accurate time on when we would be arriving. We left around 8:00am the next morning, but it was exactly what we needed. A safe place to camp for the night. There was only 1 other vehicle on the property also camping that I know of, and they were quite and very respectful. Would definitely stay here again while passing through!

Great place to stay! The kids loved watching the horses in the morning and the sunsets were beautiful! Gwen & Jim were great hosts and told us about the local places to check out! Would love to come back :)

Gwen and Jim are great hosts! They provide a safe and welcoming camping option for solo travelers within a short drive to town and Smith Rock State Park. They’re located right off the highway- gps gets you there! It is everything you need (flat parking, flush toilet and running water sink, table and chairs, and potable water). Enjoyed a beautiful sunset with distant mountain views and watching the horses graze in the pasture next to the camping sites.

Beautiful property with great views. Peaceful surroundings and low key hosts. Close to the Ochoco reservoir (3 minutes) and close to Prineville down town (9 minutes).

Jim and Gwen were extremely nice but the grass was overgrown at the sites. The water was just a hose drapped over a fence with a swivel closure. He could have installed a standing hose bib without too much trouble. The bathroom was their RV trailer which was confining. I would have preferred a Port-a-John. Also if you get more than a few people then there is a wait. The setting was pretty. He has a small horse farm and it is close to Prineville which was a good brewery and grocery stores.

Camped in our van just for a quick overnight with the kiddos! Even though it rained a bit on us we had a great visit. The girls loved eating dinner and having the horses come right up to the fence by us. Gwen and Jim were great hosts!

Jim was suoer welcoming and kind, their property and garden is very beautiful and spacious. Make sure to bring your cameras for all the different flowers in the garden! I will definitely be coming back here whenever I'm staying in the area again.

It was delightful. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed waking up and seeing the sun’s rays being absorbed by the hills behind their residence. Accommodations were helpful and clean. My son enjoyed interacting with the neighbor’s horses. Flower garden was a nice way to start my day.

I'm glad that I'm the type of individual who plans my stay ahead of time, because this place assured me that it was the right choice. Gwen and Jim are undoubtedly two wonderful hosts that provide a safe and private area to tent, or car camp. Not too far from downtown Prineville. The drive to prineville reservoir is incredible! Amazing sights, open canyons and valleys surround you. Thank you once again Jim and Gwen for presenting such a peaceful stay. 10/10 hospitality!

Gwen was an amazing host! We had a short visit, but enjoyed our time tremendously. I would definitely recommend this location. I wish we could have stayed longer to explore more. We will definitely come back when we’re in the area.
