I booked a last minute reservation and headed to the coast. This was a nice little spot to pitch a tent. The sites were clearly marked and seemed to have a decent amount of space between them. There were walking trails and nearby porta potties if needed. The owner’s were very responsive and friendly on the app.

After a long driving day, this was the perfect place to land. We were greeted by a mama deer and her baby enjoying the apples in the orchard. The site is open and peaceful. Mark was a gracious host and our stay was perfect!

It was such a pleasure to camp here! Mark was unbelievably kind and accommodating. Oggy is the epitome of friendly black lab and makes the stay guaranteed to be filled with smiles. Sites were well maintained and exactly as described- mine was private and cozy. The property is beautiful and Mark allowed us to walk along the trail around d the property. We will absolutely be coming back!

We had a lovely time. The host, Mark, was very friendly, gave us free Tillamook cheese and firewood. The property is absolutely gorgeous and it was just a really nice stay. Thanks again!

Secluded and peaceful campground in the trees, yet easy to find even in the dark with great signage. Bathrooms and water tank were just right for camping. The best part? The super friendly campground cat and dog—waking up to the dog sniffing our tent was an amazing bonus! Truly a special spot.

Site #5 lives up to it's name. Its a quiet spot in a clearing with a fire pit and a picnic table. Our tent was a little to big for the spot but we figured it out. Angie is a sweetheart, and seemed to appear out of nowhere and act as a silent guardian any time we got up to use the restroom in the night. Mark was very friendly as well. Sleeping in this little secluded spot and listening to the thunder and seeing the lightning is an experience I'll never forget. Can't wait to come back again.

#7 was a lovely campsite set up secluded from the others and the closest to the main road. Mark greeted us and was very welcoming. We’d definitely stay again if ever in the area.

The campsite itself was very clean and well-maintained, and Mark was friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated. However, we had an ongoing issue with Mark's dog Oggie. Although he was very sweet and friendly, he stayed on our site most of the day while we were there.
When we were eating dinner he sat right next to the table and watched us eat. When we were having campfire he walked between us and the fire pit and looked for the crumbs(kids had s'mores) which made us feel uneasy.
During the middle of the night when everyone was asleep we heard noise outside so we went out with flashlights to check what was going on. To our surprise it was Oggie digging through our garbage can.(Fortunately we had put all the food inside of the car before going to sleep!)
Another challenge we faced was that Oggie crawled under our camper when we were leaving, which made it very stressful for us because we were worried about accidentally hurting him.
We yelled at him to get out, we tried to pull him out. It took nearly 10 minutes until he finally decided to come out.
This left us with mixed feelings about the experience. While we liked many aspects of the campground, we’re not sure if we would return because of this problem.

This is a great site! It has all the amenities of a state park campground, but is much quieter and more private. The site is surrounded by forest, and is right next to some walking trails. It's a really peaceful spot, close to Tillamook, and a perfect place to stay while exploring the area!

The host was so kind and welcoming. The campground was great we loved the sawdust it made it nice and soft. This site is shaded all day so that was perfect! Close to tillamook and the beach! However, the best part was the camp mascot Oggy! He was the best boy and spent every night with us! He greeted us even when we got in really late the first night! Highly recommend we will be back!

Loved the orchard spot. Saw the deer come to the orchard for their morning fruit. Mark was an awesome host; kind, friendly, accommodating, with a very generous spirit. Augie welcomed everyone. The site is quiet and peaceful with a short trail through giant hemlock. Its location is great, only a short trip to Tillamook or the beaches. Had a great stay.

Stayed in site #5 and it was beautiful and clean. The site is tucked away in the trees and has a fire pit and picnic table.
Mark, the campsite host, is a wonderful and hospitable person and we were lucky to meet him!
Would recommend this campground to anyone.

I loved being able to let my dogs run free!!! The site was large and clean. Mark was able to provide firewood, which was a treat, as there has been a burn ban in effect all summer where I live. The sanican could have used renewing, but it was tolerable.

We had a 10000/10 experience at Hurlys Hideaway. We’ve been twice and will be back soon. Close to the beauty of Oceanside and to the convenience (and cheese) of Tillamook. We will be back. Auggie and Mark (you too, Jinx) are welcoming hosts who make you feel right at home. If you’re lucky, Auggie might even protect your tent all night like he did for us 😂

Really great spot that was plenty private and beautiful. Some very sweet and cute animals visited us during our one night stay.
One callout: I'd say be forewarned that the road in and out is mighty steep and rough and narrow (one way in / one way out) about a 1/4 mile up a mountain. We were not expecting this and was a bit jarring and was some concern about our low clearance van. Still recommend!

Campsite was nice, clean and pretty quiet. A little road noise but not too bad. Could not see or hear any other campsites from this spot and it is certainly shady! I would recommend this if you are looking g to camp in the area.

Very convenient spot surrounded by trees and a view of the Tillamook River. Mark was very friendly and gave me firewood on the first night—he got an exemption from the fire marshall so fires were permitted! His dog stopped by our site and was the sweetest. Both of my dogs liked him and he played with my Aussie.
Unfortunately on the second night, the neighbor’s dog was barking for hours. It started before 9pm and continued through the night. I texted Mark and he offered to bring me earplugs. I know this is out of his control, but something to be aware of.

Mark’s place is the perfect place to camp when visiting the Tillamook/coast area. It’s easy to find, quiet, and private. There’s plenty of opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings and wildlife. The orchard sites are great for star gazing. If you’re a dog person you’ll be delighted when visited by the host dog, Auggie. Host, Mark, is welcoming and hospitable. I would recommend this place to anyone is looking for a good place to stay while exploring the beautiful region.
