I am new to Hip Camp, but by the time my 5000-mile road trip is done, we will be fast friends. Thus far I have been to two campsites, and Mark Hurley‘s is by far the best. My Orchard View spot, Tent #1, was completely private, overlooking apple, Asian pear and cherry trees – and at Mark’s invitation, I picked a few cherries and ate them. As I was sending a video to friends, a guinea fowl, photo bombed my photo. Fabulous. I walked the perhaps quarter mile private loop out the back of my tent site before I turned in for the night. This kind of experience was what I was hoping for, rather than a parking lot with RVs side-by-side I experienced before. Mark was gracious and helpful and directed me to Downies for breakfast and I wasn’t disappointed with the oyster scramble. Miss the Tillamook Creamery tour, but had a memorable delightful stay regardless. WAZE took me right to the campground entrance and the GPS nailed my spot for me. It is up a narrow gravel road, which was fine for me and my RAV4. Just a heads up for anyone driving something big or towing something big.
