Lori was extremely nice and even educational for my 4 year old daughter. I definitely plan to bring my family here again! The camp was absolutely amazing, tucked away and the views were breathtaking of the river.

Lovely , low key spot with access to lots of soaks and excursions . Lori is a generous , aware and considerate host , we really enjoyed the hands on farm chores and bracing dunks in the river , great experience for kids and big kids alike ..we will go again with some friends next time .

Great location on the Santiam river. Total privacy even if there are campers at the other site. We had a great time and even caught some trout. Hosts are super friendly but gave us our space. Plenty of available firewood and a nice maple tree for shade made this a great site.

This was a great stay, Lori was very kind and her property was beautiful! We loved that Lori let us customize and acclimate to the space and had so many great things to offer us. We loved being able to bring our dogs, but the only downside was having to put ours away when hers came through, but we would gladly return to this amazing spot!
The river is just a 30 feet walk from your tent at any spot, the water is clean and you have tons of space to roam! We came and didn't leave the entire time. It is a perfect site for larger groups, just remember it is more suited for a calmer experience than a raging party which my group preferred.
Truly an amazing trip, I genuinely intend to return!

We're first time Hipcamper's and we were so happy to find Lori's 40 acre Farm! Beautiful property, and we were lucky enough to have both sites to ourselves, so privacy was excellent. There's a beautiful little river at the end of an ATV trail that we spent most of our time at. More than enough firewood if you run out (bring an axe), and she was very considerate letting us know before she walked her dogs so we could put our dog Louie in. Lori was very helpful, and very friendly. Easy drive too!

We had an enjoyable first stay at 40 Acres! Our site was the first one you encounter driving along the river, so though we technically camped right alongside the gravel road, the only traffic was a farm truck passing a couple times, and another camper departing. We had the best view of the river and our backs to open farmland, but the location felt surprisingly private. We couldn't hear the other campers - a family staying in the wooded area by the river entrance - at all. The only slight inconvenience was having to coordinate around Lori's dog walks (we either had to put our dogs in the car, or she had to modify her route to not pass our camp). If you bring dogs, check in with Lori in advance about the best system to ensure seamless communication on this front, especially if your stay is long enough that your cell phone may die, or if you don't carry it on you all the time. If we want a river campsite in the future, this place would be at the top of our list!

This was our first time in our new camper as a family. I couldn't have asked for or even dreamed of more. The owner is incredible. She taught us several things about life and dogs, and her dogs were my kids' favorite part of the trip!! We will absolutely go back. This place is gorgeous, quiet, surrounded by beautiful water, and has the best host ever!

This spot was wonderful. There was another site nearby but we really didn’t run Into the other campers. Lori was wonderful and I’m so happy they have chosen to share their land with folks like us!

Lori was a great host, we enjoyed our stay. It's nice to be away from the crowds and have your own site, nice and peaceful. As others have said, bring a tarp -- it's hot in the sun.

Beautiful camp spot with view of the river! There were other campers in a second spot nearby which hadn't been communicated but I believe is in the post now. We didn't hear them but it did mean sharing the river spot (fun to wade and swim in!!). Also appreciated the picnic table and fire pit.
For anyone who has pets, there are electric fences on site that are not marked. My little one got zapped and seriously spooked. Also had hoped this would provide a respite from the fireworks (7/4) but we could hear them all night long. I'm sure any other night of the year would be peaceful.

We stayed at Lori’s camp this past weekend and it was amazing! Our campsite was very private and exactly as described. Lori showed us all around her farm and she let us borrow some inner-tubes to float down the river. This is a great place for a group of friends or for a relaxed getaway.

My gal and another couple were looking for a quick quiet weekend getaway and we found it. Lori (our host) was very friendly and made us feel welcome. She even gave us a tour of her farm! We had the site to ourselves and although you can see the road from the site it might as well have not been there. The sounds of the river flowing is all we heard and it made for a peaceful night sleep.

Lori and her property were great! Plenty of spots to setup your tent or park by the river, nice teepee on site if you prefer to camp with some additional shelter and great spot to cook/enjoy a fire.
Property had nice area to hike around with multiple views of the river. We will be back soon!

This was our first trip using Hipcamp. So we weren’t too sure what to expect. Lori, her husband and three awesome German shepherds greeted us upon arrival at their house. Gave us a a quick rundown and took us down the road to the camp spot. Which we were able to freely choose along the riverfront. It was amazing. They had a ton of firewood which they let us burn. Luckily we had a hatchet in the van. Which is perfectly fine. Since we all know how many bundles of firewood you can go through in an evening. 😬 You are about as secluded as it gets with the sounds of the river at your doorstep
Lori and her husband offered me the opportunity to learn how to catch, clean and prepare a chicken for my wife and i to cook. It was AWESOME! They are super great hosts and just so hospitable. We can’t wait to go back!

Had a great time at 40 Acres. All as advertised on Hip Camp, and Lori was helpful, informative, and actively interested in our needs and experience. We stayed as long as possible, did the whole camping deal. Nice Walks, surroundings, a flowing river and a working farm alongside. Nature Abounds. Do it

This was my second time staying on Lori’s Farm. I slept in the back of my jeep but stored my stuff inside the pyramid. I also ate in there to keep yellow jackets away. The river is so beautiful and there are many different areas to set up a chair and relax at this time of year. Caught crawfish and a trout! Thank you Lori for such a private relaxing camp!

Our stay was very enjoyable! Our host Lori was very accommodating and helpful. Our dog Pippin has some anxiety and aggression issues to which Lori was great with and would let us know anytime she was coming by the site with her three adorable german shepherds. The site is absolutely beautiful, right by the river with lots to see and explore. We also stayed in the pyramid which is very spacious, looking forward to when the interior is finished! The only downside was that we assumed there were close hot springs but after further research they were an hour away and reservation only. We did go check out the 10 waterfalls trail about 30 minutes away, however dogs are only allowed on two trails so plan ahead. Would definitely come again!

Lovely spot on the Santiam close to Silver Falls and wineries. Lori and her beautiful German shepherds welcomed us and then left us alone to enjoy a beautiful campsite and an excellent viewing spot for the Perseid meteor shower!

Our stay with Lori and Chuy was short but sweet. We were lucky to find this unique and private spot to park our van. We slept well by the river and Lori made us a delicious breakfast in the morning before our departure. Getting to visit with the animals was an extra treat!

What a wonderful space! We booked two nights and couldn’t get enough. The River is gorgeous and clear, the setting lovely. Lori is great. We loved meeting her and her three beautiful and very friendly dogs. Our first night we got it kind of late so didn’t discover the deep swimming hole or the secluded island but once we did that was it. Would definitely stay again!

We had planned to hike, but the river right next to the campsite was too nice to leave and we spent three days with our camping chairs in the little creek leading to the river, reading books. We also took a wonderful relaxing meditative yoga class with Lori, who is a great teacher. My only reminder is to bring shade! It was hot when we visited and we were lucky that we brought a folding canopy because the campsite is in full sun from 10-5. Other than that, it was wonderful and we would like to come back someday!

We had a great stay at Lori’s! We loved the pyramid and actually ended up setting our tent up inside of it which made the overnight warmer. There was firewood available and the property is large. We will definitely be visiting again some time soon!
